Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 :exam arrival.

A new day began in the Ancient Masters Village.

The air felt different that morning. A sense of tension and excitement spread across the academy grounds, because everyone knew that the final exams were only one day away.

For the students, this exam would decide their future.

Some of them would move forward on the path to becoming real ninjas. Others would be forced to leave the academy behind.

Kaelen woke up early in his dormitory room. The sunlight coming through the window told him that the day had already begun.

He sat quietly for a moment, thinking about everything he had learned during the last three months.

The lessons from Sir Allex.

The training sessions.

The discovery of his Thunder power.

Tomorrow would be the moment where all of it would be tested.

Kaelen stood up, washed his face, and immediately began studying.

The academy had taught them many important subjects—village geography, ninja history, battle strategies, elemental powers, and survival techniques. Kaelen reviewed every note he had taken carefully.

Hours passed as he continued studying.

Outside the dormitory, other students were also preparing for the exam. Some practiced their techniques, while others quietly read their study materials.

Kaelen did not want to take any chances.

By the time evening arrived, he finally closed his books.

His mind felt tired from studying the whole day, so he decided to step outside and get some fresh air.

As he walked along the quiet path near the dormitories, he noticed someone standing nearby.

It was Allan.

Kaelen walked toward him.

"What are you doing here?" Kaelen asked.

Allan looked up and smiled slightly.

"Just taking an evening walk," he replied.

Kaelen nodded and said with a smile, "Same here."

The two friends began walking together through the academy grounds.

However, Kaelen quickly noticed something strange.

Allan looked unusually quiet.

Normally Allan was energetic and cheerful, but today he seemed a little down.

Kaelen looked at him carefully.

"Why are you looking so depressed?" Kaelen asked.

Allan sighed softly.

"Aren't you feeling bad about leaving the academy?" he said.

Kaelen looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

Allan continued walking slowly.

"I mean… leaving the academy and Sir Allex," he said. "He taught us so much. He supported us from the beginning."

Kaelen thought about it for a moment.

Allan was right.

Sir Allex had been more than just a teacher. He had guided them, encouraged them, and helped them understand the path of a ninja.

"Yeah," Kaelen said quietly. "Sir Allex supported us a lot."

For a few moments, neither of them spoke.

Then suddenly, Kaelen stopped walking.

An idea had appeared in his mind.

He turned toward Allan with excitement.

"Let's throw a farewell party!"

Allan blinked in surprise.

"A farewell party?"

"Yes," Kaelen said with a grin. "It will be our way of thanking Sir Allex for everything he has done for us."

Allan's expression immediately brightened.

"That's a great idea!" he said.

The two friends quickly began planning.

"Okay," Kaelen said, thinking carefully. "You call all our classmates and prepare a place for the party."

"And what will you do?" Allan asked.

"I'll go invite Sir Allex."

Allan nodded.

"Alright."

"We'll meet in two hours," Kaelen said.

Without wasting another second, Kaelen ran toward the village streets.

Soon he reached Sir Allex's house, located not far from the academy.

Kaelen knocked on the door.

After a moment, the door opened.

Sir Allex stood there, looking slightly surprised.

"Kaelen?" he said warmly. "What brings you here?"

Kaelen smiled.

"It's a surprise, sir."

Sir Allex raised an eyebrow.

"A surprise?"

"Yes," Kaelen said with a mysterious grin. "Please just come with me."

Sir Allex looked curious but agreed.

"Very well," he said.

The two of them walked through the quiet streets until they reached a large open field near the academy.

As soon as they arrived, Sir Allex stopped in place.

The field was beautifully prepared.

Lanterns had been placed around the area, creating a warm glow in the night. Several students stood together, smiling.

In the center of the field stood Allan and the rest of their classmates.

They had prepared a farewell celebration.

For a moment, Sir Allex said nothing.

Then his eyes slowly filled with tears.

He looked at all the students standing there and realized what they had done.

"Sir," Allan said with a smile, "this is our way of thanking you."

The other students nodded.

Sir Allex placed a hand over his heart.

"I… don't know what to say," he said softly.

One by one, the students began thanking him for his teachings.

For the knowledge.

For the guidance.

For believing in them.

Finally, Sir Allex looked at Kaelen.

"This farewell party happened because of you," he said.

"Thank you, Kaelen."

Kaelen smiled shyly.

The celebration continued for a while. The students laughed, talked, and shared stories from their time at the academy.

It was a moment none of them would forget.

Eventually, the night grew late.

The students slowly returned to their dormitories.

Kaelen lay down on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

Tomorrow would be the exam.

His heart beat with both excitement and nervousness.

Soon he fell asleep.

Morning arrived quickly.

Today was the day of the examination.

Kaelen woke up early, feeling both nervous and determined.

After getting ready, he walked toward the exam hall.

Hundreds of students gathered outside.

Suddenly, the crowd became quiet.

Standing in front of them was a powerful-looking ninja.

His presence alone made the air feel heavy.

Beside him stood several other ninjas.

Someone whispered nervously.

"That's an A-Rank ninja."

Many C-Rank ninjas stood nearby as well.

The A-Rank ninja stepped forward.

"Welcome," he said in a strong voice.

"Welcome to the Ancient Masters Village Ninja Examination."

The students listened carefully.

"This exam only takes place once every five years," he continued.

"The examination will consist of three parts."

He raised three fingers.

"First, a written exam."

"Second, training under an S-Rank ninja."

"Third, a battle with your classmates in teams of two."

The students murmured nervously.

"Only five teams will be selected," the examiner said calmly.

"The rest will be disqualified."

The students gasped.

"Only five teams…?"

"There are more than a thousand students!"

Kaelen felt his heart beat faster.

The competition would be extremely difficult.

The examiner raised his hand.

"One more announcement."

"If anyone attempts to cheat, they will be immediately disqualified."

"Every ninja here is watching your every move."

The written exam began.

Kaelen focused completely on the questions.

He answered carefully and quickly.

When he finally finished and walked to submit his paper, he noticed something strange.

Many seats were empty.

"Where did all those students go?" Kaelen asked one of the supervising ninjas.

"They were disqualified," the ninja replied calmly.

Kaelen was shocked.

Later, the results were announced.

Both Kaelen and Allan had passed with excellent marks.

Next came the second stage.

Students had to book an S-Rank ninja to train under.

The line was incredibly long.

Kaelen and Allan waited patiently.

Eventually, Allan reached the front and successfully booked a trainer.

But when it was finally Kaelen's turn…

All the S-Rank ninjas were already booked.

"There must be a mistake," Kaelen said.

But the officials checked again.

"There are no S-Rank ninjas left."

Kaelen's heart sank.

All his hard work…

All his preparation…

It suddenly felt meaningless.

Unable to control his emotions, Kaelen ran away.

He ran deep into the forest far from the academy.

Eventually, he climbed onto a tree and sat on a branch, staring into the distance.

His mind was filled with doubt.

Without a trainer…

Could he still become a ninja?
