Zane sat upright on the expensive leather couch while his legs remained crossed, but his arms now folded across his chest.
"Right. I was at fault and shouldn't have forced my way in without your permission," Zane finally admitted, leaving Selina momentarily stunned.
Her brows furrowed, eyes widening as they pierced into his unreadable ones. "Is that an apology?" she asked, her voice tight with restraint as she fought back her surprise.
Zane tilted his head slightly, musing for a moment before replying, "Probably."
"Probably?" Selina scoffed, anger rising at his unbothered pride. "What if the argument escalated into something dangerous and one of us got hurt?"
"I'm not that quick to act violent, Selina," he said, his voice lowering. "You're too fragile. So fragile it leaves me helpless to even think where or how to hurt you."
