Chapter 156 - Chapter 156: Takamimusubinokami

As Kalifa stepped inside, Kaito gave Magellan a nod and said,

"Let's begin."

Magellan didn't waste any words. He gritted his teeth and unleashed a massive wave of red poison directly at Kaito.

A torrential surge of poison instantly flooded Bullet's prison cell, engulfing Kaito's entire figure.

But the moment the attack ended, Magellan immediately regretted it. He had overdone it—he'd used too much poison.

Still, he didn't have time to dwell on it. Since Kaito had disappeared beneath the sea of poison and wasn't making any movement, the priority now was to locate him quickly.

Magellan pressed both hands to the ground. The poison flowed back toward him through his arms, and gradually, a red silhouette began to emerge at the center of the cell.

That figure was none other than Kaito. As Magellan saw him, completely drenched in poison, his heart sank. He immediately increased the rate of poison recovery.

Suddenly, a burst of repulsive force exploded from Kaito's body, blasting all the poison off of him in an instant.

Poison splattered in every direction—some even hit Magellan in the face. But he didn't seem to notice. He stood frozen, eyes locked onto Kaito, specifically to the new horn that had sprouted from the right side of Kaito's forehead.

The horn was surprisingly elegant in shape. It was a creamy white with a graceful curve and intricate branching ridges. Its base was textured with scale-like protrusions, and the tip was stained a deep, dark red—like it had soaked in blood.

As the horn emerged, the purple in Kaito's Rinnegan deepened, and his entire aura shifted again. He now gave off a paradoxical impression—at once warm and approachable, yet distant and untouchable.

Kaito reached up to touch the horn. The moment his hand made contact, a cool sensation spread down his arm and into his body, refreshing him instantly.

He glanced down at his body, still flawless and unscathed even after being immersed in poison. A charming smile curled at the corners of his lips—so striking that even someone as dense as Magellan was momentarily dazed.

Kaito had taken the full brunt of Magellan's poison without any defensive jutsu, relying purely on his physical body. It had been unpleasant at first, but once the horn began to grow, the pressure vanished. Soaking in poison now felt like soaking in a hot spring.

The horn had even absorbed part of the poison—that's why the tip turned red.

Now fully accustomed to the horn's presence, Kaito focused his mind. The horn began to emit a soft, creamy white glow, and the red at the tip started to flow like blood.

Magellan stared at the transformation, not even blinking. A familiar sensation emanated from the horn.

The "red blood" on the horn began to flow downward, leaving the base and trailing across Kaito's face—forming small stream-like patterns between his right eye and the base of the horn—before converging into his right Rinnegan.

As the red liquid merged into it, the pupil in Kaito's right eye turned a vivid, blood-like red.

Then, he raised his arm toward Magellan and spoke softly.

"Takamimusubinokami."

Magellan hadn't even reacted when Kaito's right arm transformed into a massive red poison dragon and lunged forward.

Boom!

The red dragon slammed into Magellan's enormous body, hurling him into the adjacent cell. A scream rang out—and was abruptly silenced.

Don't misunderstand—it wasn't Magellan screaming.

It was some poor bastard in the next cell, someone with a bounty worth hundreds of millions, now caught in the crossfire.

Magellan struggled to climb out of the pool of poison. Before he could even process what was happening, the sight before him made his eyes bulge wide as if they might pop out of his skull.

The entire prison cell—including the walls and fixtures—had been melted down into a sludge-like mess by the corrosive poison. Everything was still disintegrating before his eyes.

Most horrifying of all was the prisoner that had once been inside. All that was left were a few pale, broken bones. Even those last fragments crumbled into green smoke and vanished the moment Magellan noticed them.

Magellan remembered who was locked in this cell—some drunkard named Basque Jote.

Once the name came to mind, he quickly pushed it aside. Plenty of heavy-hitters were dying today—one more drunk didn't make a difference.

He sat up, still wading through the poison. As a poison-user himself, he wasn't afraid of its corrosion.

But what terrified him... was that this was clearly his ability.

And yet, when it came from Kaito, it was faster, stronger, and covered a wider range than the attack he'd just unleashed himself.

Everything that had just happened left him utterly dumbfounded. He even forgot to be annoyed about being used as a test subject.

Across the ruined cell, Kaito smiled at him.

Sure, he had asked Magellan to attack him—but damn, the guy really didn't hold back. That first blast, before he'd grown the horn, had definitely stung a bit.

So of course, being the schemer he was, Kaito couldn't resist getting a little payback.

As for that stronger-than-Magellan poison attack—it came from the horn. A built-in ability.

Just like Ōtsutsuki Momoshiki, it could absorb an enemy's attack and send it back multiplied.

Takamimusubinokami.

But unlike Momoshiki, whose absorbed attacks could only be used once, Kaito had no such limitation—he could use it infinitely.

Still, Kaito was a little confused.

He'd never heard of Ōtsutsuki clan members' horns coming with built-in powers. After thinking it over, he chalked it up to mutation.

Well, maybe not mutation. Let's call it… evolution.

Honestly, this trip to the deep-sea prison had brought him tremendous benefits. The Kaito before entering and the Kaito now weren't even in the same league.

The remnants of red poison slithered around his right arm like little snakes as Kaito walked up to Magellan. He extended a hand and smiled apologetically.

"Sorry about that, Magellan. I didn't have full control of this new power. You okay?"

Magellan blankly shook his head and grasped Kaito's hand, pulling himself up from the poison. Right now, he just wanted to get back to the toilet and reflect on everything that had happened today.

Kaito, as if reading his mind, suddenly asked,

"Magellan, are you thinking of going to the toilet again?"

"Ah… yes."

"Yeah, the side effects of the Venom-Venom Fruit are a pain. How about this—I've got a method that'll let you work while going to the bathroom at the same time. Want to try it?"

"Nani? Of course I do!"

Seeing Magellan so readily agree, Kaito flashed a warm, radiant smile. It even made Magellan feel a little fuzzy inside.
