As soon as Karl found himself in the clearing of the forest, he suddenly came up with a new idea to detect his attacker.
As he was unable of find this person with his strong perception, he thought that some clever tactics might just be the thing that he needed to turn the situation around.
He immediately started to find a location where he could surround himself from three sides. Soon he found a group of trees and he used his sword and his life force to cut some of the trees quickly to create what he needed.
During this process, he was attacked once more. But again he managed to barely dodge the arrow. This one also grazed past him and created another small wound on his body.
But Karl did not care about it at all as a wound like this would automatically heal even without him doing anything because of his knight's body. So he mostly focused on what he was trying to make.

What Karl ended up making was something like a fortress. Obviously there was no way he would be able to make a real fortress in such a short time.
So what he made was just a basic structure resembling the function of a fortress. He had simply made it by using the trees and the lumber that he had cut down with his sword.
This structure had no stability and even a strong lifeforce boosted punch from a knight could bring it down. But it was stable enough to not be destroyed by a few arrows.
And this place was protecting him from three sides, so to kill him, the Archer needed to attack him from the front.
In case of this type of direct attack, Karl would be able to see with his eyes from where these arrows were coming from.
He was unable to do so before because he was inside a dense and dark forest. So the trees and the darkness were obstructing his view.
But here in the clearing, the sunlight was present. For that reason Karl was able to perfectly see everything around here.
Now he only needed to wait for the attacker to launch an attack from the front. Then he would be able to easily track him down and kill him.

As Weiss looked at the bizzare structure made of wood before her, she started to think if this knight before her was acting to be a stupid person or was he actually as stupid as it looked.
Weiss had actually poisoned the arrows with a paralyzing poison because she wanted to catch this knight alive for a little interrogation.
So she was mostly waiting for the effect of the poison to kick in while occasionally launching a few arrows toward him so that he would not suspect anything.
For this reason, if this person just stayed inside this structure without trying to run away, then Weiss had no problem.
She would soon be able to catch him when he would not be able to move his body anymore.
But at the same time, Weiss also felt a desire to show him how stupid this idea of his actually was.
The paralyse was going to kick in a few minutes, so Weiss decided to show him his foolishness before that.
This might also be useful for when she was going to interrogate this man. Having fear in his heart about her would be useful in a situation like that.
With this in mind, Weiss quickly started collecting leaves from a few special plants from the forest. The sap collected from these leaves was all very flammable in nature.
Weiss quickly extracted the sap and coated some of her arrows with it. Then she shoot those arrows toward the wood made fortress like structure.
Then immediately after that, she used the friction between two metal arrowheads to create a spark and lit an arrowhead made of clothes up with fire using it.
After that she used that fire arrow to hit the previously flammable liquid coated arrow which immediately made the tiny fire bigger.
And as the fortress like structure was also made of wood, it also caught fire very easily and started burning.

As Karl was staying inside his wooden fortress while making sure to strain all his senses to detect the presence of his attacker, his nose suddenly picked up a burning smell.
Just as Karl became curious about from where this smell was coming from, fire suddenly erupted above his head and all the logs beside him also caught fire.
As to not get buried under the falling burning wood, he was forced to run out of his little fortress and out into the open again.
This whole incident had scared him quite a bit. He might have been able to survive even after getting buried with his powerful supernatural body, but in that case, he definitely would have taken a lot of damage.
As Karl was about to start running in order not give the archer an easy target, suddenly he felt that his body was not responding to his commands properly.
So as soon as he started running, his legs froze up suddenly and he fell down on the ground. Then as he tried to stand up again, his body started to get more and more numb.
By then Karl had realised that he had definitely been poisoned and immediately tried to take out an all purpose antidote medicine kept in his shirt's inner pockets with his shaking hands.
But as soon as he somehow manage to bring the antidote pill out and was about to put it inside his mouth, an arrow again came out of nowhere and perfectly hit only the antidote.
Just as Karl was just about to regain some of his hope, it was all destroyed with a perfectly placed arrow shot. This was something that could break someone's mind.
Soon, Karl's whole body got paralysed and now he was unable to move even his fingers. That was when Weiss, the mysterious archer came out of the forest.
But she was still covering her whole body with a black robe and was holding a sword in her hand. Her face was also covered and the bow was placed behind her back.
After revealing herself, she did not immediately went to check on karl. Instead, she first went to see what was the pill that she had shot.
Weiss had expected it to be some kind of poisonous pill that this man was trying to use in order to commit suicide in order to not get caught. But the pill in question turned out to be a hastily made all purpose antidote.
If Weiss knew this, she would have actually not bother to shot it at all. There was no way a mass produced all purpose antidote like this would be of any use against her carefully crafted paralysing poison.
Seeing his antidote failing completely might even have given this man more despair.
Even though this antidote was not of a very high quality, Weiss still kept it with her to do some reserch on it.
She first wanted to recreate it and then investigate the proper capabilities of this medicine against various kinds and various doses of poison with proper experiments.
But that would be a task for the future. In the present, she first needed to take care of this large rat that had came to her territory with evil intentions in mind.
