Ethereal barriers now surrounded the entire underworld, layers of dimensional distortions covering King Yemma's palace as the afterlife merged chaotically with the living world. Beyond Hell's escapees, even residents of Heaven had begun returning to the mortal realm—including the cheerful creatures who had once tormented Frieza with their songs and dances.
Emperor Frieza remained suspended in his cocoon beneath the tree, alone in the now-empty heavenly realm.
"What's happening here? Just moments ago that strange light appeared, and now... hehehehe, how fascinating." Frieza's face twisted into an ecstatic expression as his sharp eyes pierced through the boundary separating yin and yang.
He could sense Janemba's malevolent energy—a force of pure evil that even surpassed his own power. This was the source of the world's transformation.
So many had already departed, and Frieza desperately wanted to escape this accursed place as well. A realm filled with grass and flowers held no appeal for him. What he craved was killing and conquest. Once he returned to that world, those possibilities would exist again.
But escape remained impossible—he was still sealed within his prison cocoon.
Suddenly, a familiar figure descended before Frieza, casually eating fruit while wearing a wicked grin.
"Tsk tsk tsk, I never expected the mighty Emperor to end up like this. This environment is far nicer than ours—so this is Heaven..." The visitor glanced around with mock amazement.
"For me, this is the worst Hell imaginable. King Yemma designed it specifically to torment me, filling it with those disgusting creatures." Frieza spat venomously. "If you stayed here, you wouldn't be able to stand it either, Turles."
"Hahahaha!" Turles devoured his fruit and casually tossed aside a small corpse. "You mean disgusting things like this? I took care of it for you."
Frieza blinked in surprise, seeing the body Turles had thrown to the ground—one of the cute, childlike creatures that had been tormenting him.
Blood seeped from the corpse, its face frozen in an expression of shock and terror from being killed mid-song. The metallic scent filled the air with an aroma that actually pleased Frieza. It had been just a child, but Turles had killed it without hesitation or mercy.
This was exactly Frieza's style.
"What brings you here?"
"To rescue you, naturally." Turles stated as if it were obvious.
He fired a ki blast that shattered the cocoon imprisoning Frieza. Seizing the opportunity, the tyrant broke free from his bonds and set foot on solid ground once more.
Flexing his restored hands into fists, Frieza looked genuinely surprised. "What's your plan?"
"Besides you, King Yemma assigned several other powerful monsters to different areas—some in Hell, others in Heaven. I've rescued them all. Why, you ask? Obviously to take revenge on Raditz and his allies. I'm gathering the entire underworld's power to make those bastards pay!"
Turles consumed the remaining fruit whole, his aura immediately surging with newfound strength. Like the other villains, he harbored incomparable hatred for Raditz and his team. Super-criminals like Bojack had been restricted by King Yemma and locked away in specialized environments, while lesser threats like Turles had been largely ignored. Now Turles was exploiting this disaster to quietly liberate powerful evil beings, preparing to unite all their forces for an invasion of the living world.
"Hohohoho, you share my exact thoughts, but..." Frieza's eyes narrowed as his form suddenly vanished.
Whoosh!
A devastating tail whip lashed out from behind Turles as Frieza reappeared.
The emperor's tail carried tremendous power—its strike caused Heaven itself to darken and shift color. A deep trench carved directly into the ground, the force capable of shattering diamond barriers. The wind pressure alone was terrifying, let alone the domineering power of the actual blow.
But Turles simply smiled. He shifted slightly to one side, unexpectedly dodging Frieza's tail completely. Then, grasping the appendage firmly, he spun his body with tremendous force and hurled Frieza through the air.
For a moment, Frieza was genuinely stunned. When had Turles become this powerful? Back then, he'd been mere cannon fodder with a power level in the tens of thousands, yet now he could fight on equal terms? While still processing this shock, Turles sent him flying, his body sliding nearly a hundred meters before coming to a stop.
"That's the effect of Tree of Might fruit. I discovered there are spirit trees growing in the Yellow Springs as well, and after this evil outbreak, these fruits can provide me with far more potent energy. Impressive, isn't it?" Turles spoke with obvious confidence.
He had consumed every Tree of Might fruit he could find in this realm, causing his strength to skyrocket exponentially. Perhaps the talent gap between himself and Raditz's group remained too vast, but continuous consumption of spirit tree fruit had finally allowed him to reach unprecedented levels of power. Successfully dodging Frieza's attack and counterattacking proved it.
"Hmph, indeed." Frieza stared at Turles for a long moment with scarlet eyes, his expression caught between amusement and irritation.
He'd originally thought Turles was being too arrogant and wanted to teach him a lesson, only to be shown up in person. This left Frieza feeling quite upset. But he wouldn't fear such a development—during his imprisonment here, he'd been constantly training his mind, his own strength improving continuously. Compared to his previous self, he too had undergone a dramatic transformation.
Let the fool continue his smugness.
Frieza approached with a false smile. "Turles, I'm truly impressed. My earlier behavior was... inappropriate."
Inappropriate? Turles wouldn't believe such transparent rhetoric, but it didn't matter. They were simply using each other anyway—their words were meaningless, neither paying genuine attention to the other's promises.
"Your father and brother have already departed, so we should go as well."
"Wait a moment. Before leaving, I have something to attend to." Frieza raised his hand with a sinister smirk.
Turles paused, watching as Frieza suddenly pointed skyward. An enormous Destruction Sphere wrapped in devastating energy materialized above them. Heaven's colors instantly shifted, becoming lifeless and dim as everything fell into shadow. The land that had imprisoned Frieza for so long trembled under this terrible power!
Frieza released his signature maniacal laugh, and with a casual gesture, sent the Destruction Sphere crashing downward. Cruel light engulfed the entire heavenly realm!
Both Turles and Frieza departed with satisfied smiles, descending into the underworld proper.
The underworld had descended into complete chaos. Oni attendants rushed to King Yemma with constant reports:
"This is terrible! Bojack has escaped!"
"Emergency! Frieza's containment area has been completely destroyed!"
Each piece of news was worse than the last, making King Yemma break into a cold sweat. The horrifying impact of yin and yang's reversal defied description. Janemba, now seated atop his palace like it had found a permanent home, maintained iron control over the entire underworld. None of the afterlife's administrators could escape.
Both King Yemma and the Grand Kai had contacted the situation, with the latter reporting that Pikkon had been easily defeated. Now their only hope rested with Raditz and his allies in the living world.
At this point, King Yemma could only appeal to the mortal realm, praying that Raditz and his team could arrive and defeat Janemba.
