"Come on, Emma! You promised you'd talk to me!"
From the phone, my friend's complaining voice echoed. We had met on an online forum, and honestly, she was one of the most entertaining people I knew. She loved reading novels and talking about them endlessly.
"I said I'd talk after school, Dokhee. You know there's an eight-hour time difference between Korea and England."
I replied softly. She was clearly one of my closest friends.
"Yes, I know. It's 4 p.m. here, and you're just heading to school."
Dokhee sighed. She was one of the most understanding people I'd ever met.
"So tell me—how am I supposed to wait six whole hours?"
I couldn't help but giggle at her frustration. I wished I had such adorable problems.
"You can read a bit more of Tfoal and give me spoilers."
"Oh, I'll definitely do that!"
"I'll be waiting."
I gave her a simple suggestion and quickened my pace toward school.
"Emma… I wish I could just jump into the novels I read. Wouldn't that be amazing?"
For a brief second, I agreed with her wholeheartedly. I, too, wished I could enter the stories we loved.
"I wish, Dokhee… I really do."
