The morning sun drifted off through the horizon, shining bright through the window in the shed hitting directly on his face as he snored aloud.
As soon as the light hit his face the heat and intensity of the light immediately jolted him awake from his nightmare.
"Great heavens!!" He screamed out as he jolted upright in a sitting position.
He cleaned his face with his palm multiple times to wipe off the pain as he stared at the floor.
"What a way to wake up in the morning..."
He moved closer to the window frame, a sharp glint on his wrist from the sunlight immediately caught his attention, and he raised hand to examine it immediately.
'What the hell is happening'
He stared at the object for a long while, still trying to make out how it got into his wrist but there was no visible process, but one thing was certain.
'Why does it look like a writing from the pendant my mom handed to me..? The same one I threw off last night? It doesn't make any sense, how did it get into my wrist?'
There was no clear explanation how it got into his wrist, and there was no way to say for sure if that was actually the same his mother handed over to him, since it could be of the same design but different.
'The only way is to check outside and verify properly'
He glanced at the blooming blue sky one last time before he turned around and headed for the door. His next target was to locate the pendant, so he could further dig into how it's words got into his wrist.
He slid open the door, and his vision met with some creatures below. For a split second, he could see right through them, a glowing green flame, like a life force, burned in each one. But the brightness wasn't the same; some glowed intensely, while others burned low, like a diminishing flame.
"Woah, what the hell was that?!!"
He glanced around but everything was now the same, no more bright green flames, everything looked totally normal now.
He shook his head to get the thought out after noticing nothing had changed.
'Must have been my imagination..'
With one swift move, he slid down the tree. Landing soundly on the ground with a graceful swing, it was almost easy.
That's also when he noticed his injury no longer ached, on a normal occasion he was supposed to feel a lot of pain from that action but everything felt normal, as if he didn't have an injury to begin with.
'Huh...does it mean blood has eventually stopped flowing through my leg?'
He raised the leg and it moved in reaction, up, down, left, right. Nothing seemed to be wrong with it, it didn't seem like it was lifeless either so that probably wasn't it.
'Then why didn't I feel anything when I slid down the tree?'
He leaned on the tree behind him and slid down to the ground. Then he started untying the cloth he wrapped around his thigh, until it all came off, falling to the ground.
'This is scientifically and physically impossible right?' He thought as he stared at his thigh in surprise.
It didn't have any injury, just sticky remains of the blood that spilled out from his leg and the scar from the creature's bite.
He continued staring at it like he had just seen the impossible, well to him it was the impossible.
In a world filled with cultivators, healing quickly wasn't anything new, infact it was the norm as it was expected of everyone to heal at that pace, but as someone with no cultivation, it felt impossible.
His healing rate should have been as fast, if not less than that of the average human as someone who failed to awaken a cultivation.
'This shouldn't be possible...'
His mind had drifted far off from the main reason he had slid down the tree in the first place which was to search for the pendant, he was now focused on the new mystery he had just figured out.
He placed his fingers on the wound, but it didn't seem like his eyes were playing tricks on him, they were indeed sealed, like he didn't have an injury on the spot, except for the scar it left behind.
'This...how is it possible?'
Just then the writing from pendant glinted again, and his attention shifted back to it. He then remembered the reason he had come down from the tree so early in the morning in the first place.
'Right..I came here looking for the pendant. I'll get to this later when I'm settled and my mind is less foggy'
He rose to his feet, and jumped up a bit to still make sure he wasn't imagining things.
'I guess that's a good thing..'
He glanced around the area but it was covered with green grass, years of no one gardening it. Well mostly because it was a forest, not like anyone was jobless enough to go clean up an entire forest.
'I guess It would be a stressful search...I just want to know whether what's in my wrist is actually the writing from my mom's pendant, and probably how it got into my wrist, other than that, this doesn't really concern me'
He sighed as he bent low and dipped his hands into the grass and began searching for the pendant.
The moment he touched the grass, it immediately reacted and green smoke like tendrils drifted upwards, following his hand movement.
'Huh?'....
He lifted his hand up and part of the smoke followed suit and sank into his skin. He felt a sudden relief wash over him, and improvement within him, like his organs were healing from the touch.
He could feel his breathing returning properly, and it no longer felt like he was having issues with inhaling the cold air of the morning.
'What kind of sorcery is this? This feels like magic!!'
He dropped his hand low and absorbed more of the green essence, and as he did, he noticed the grasses were withering, like their life force was being drained from them.
He leaned in closer to test his hypothesis, and dropped his hand low again, just as he thought, it happened again.
'What could be happening? How I'm I able to do this?'
Just then something greenish appeared in front of his vision, it looked almost surreal and otherworldly.
