Cherreads

Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

At first, he was confused. He didn't have the strength to move, he couldn't open his eyes, and he felt like he was covered in… saliva?

It took him a while to finally realize he was inside an egg.

'Well I guess I'm a Dragon now.'

It all happened so fast—just a few hours ago he was a normal teenager on Earth. Now he was apparently a being that could rival gods.

'There's no going back now,' Aziel resolved to himself.

A few years later.

During his time inside the egg, Aziel realized a few things. First was the change in his perception of time—years went by, but it didn't feel long at all. Second, he felt smarter. His thoughts were clean and sharp, he could accelerate them at will, and he could recall memories of watching anime and reading manga with ridiculous clarity, like he was rewatching or rereading them instantly.

Is this what it's like to be a God? he wondered. If this was just one passive ability, what else could he do?

And with that curiosity, he managed to keep himself entertained during the entire hatching process.

---

Phew.

"Took me some time. Prime me could've done it faster." Veldanava wiped the invisible sweat from his forehead.

{Congrats My Lord.}

Veldanava had just finished creating the Heaven Realm and the Hell Realm. All that was left was to fill them with actual residents.

But before he could begin, he suddenly sensed an unfamiliar surge of energy.

"…"

It was instant, sudden, and rapidly increasing.

He exited through the temporary Gate of Hell and flew toward the growing source.

"What's this?"

Floating before him were two gigantic balls of energy. They looked suspiciously similar to the white holes and black holes he had created on a whim. They kept growing until they reached a size comparable to Dragon Eggs, and then stopped.

{I apologize for not being able to answer your question, My Lord.}

"Yeah, but what do you think it is?"

Veldanava prayed—yes, prayed—that it wasn't an explosive or something equally catastrophic. He didn't even know who he was praying to, because HE was the God here, but still—his creations were young! He didn't want the world exploding before it was even fully baked.

For his sake (God's sake), the world only had a few spirits and animals.

The True Dragons existed, but since they hadn't hatched yet, they didn't count.

{My theory, My Lord, is that your creations are developing… and the world itself is giving birth to something that will benefit it.}

"Or it's an incomprehensible anomaly."

{…}

Veldanava couldn't decide what to do. What if it was natural? What if Voice was right? But what if he removed it and messed up something important? That would violate his vow not to interfere with his creations.

The best move was to do nothing.

"Oh god, what is it this time?"

Another burst of energy erupted, but this one was familiar.

His invisible fatigue vanished instantly. His headache disappeared. His grin reached a new world record.

"Lil bro!"

In a literal flash, Veldanava shot toward the location of the True Dragon Eggs.

{My Lord, I believe this should not be normal.}

"Hm? What do you mean?"

{It should take at least five hundred years to form a conceptual body, but the first egg has hatched in just a decade, My Lord.}

"…"

Veldanava realized Voice was right. But did that matter to him? Absolutely not. Whether normal or not, he had already decided to love his siblings equally.

"If you're so worried about him being a defect, worry about something else like those two balls of whatever. There's no way a sibling of mine can ever be a defect. Hmph! They're going to be great True Dragons. They will become rulers…"

He kept mumbling about his future siblings like a proud parent daydreaming about their unborn kids' résumés.

Voice remained silent—not because of the "defect" comment, but because it had a far scarier thought.

For a Spiritual Life-form to create a conceptual body that fast… what else could it be but a monster?

But Voice chose to keep quiet. It didn't want to ruin its master's family happiness.

---

It took less than a minute for Veldanava to reach the eggs.

He could hear cracking. The black egg trembled. Then finally, a draconic arm burst through and shattered the shell.

ROAAAAAAAAR!

A colossal black dragon emerged.

"Fuck yeah, I'm finally out!"

After a decade—though it didn't feel that long—Aziel was free.

He looked around and found three other eggs beside him.

"Are these my siblings?" he asked the air, not expecting a reply.

"Yes! They are your siblings, and I'm your big brother!"

Aziel turned toward the humanoid figure. Long purple-blue hair, a golden half-ring floating behind his head, a blindfold, and extremely cool clothing he couldn't describe.

'Big brother… then is he…?'

He recalled what the God voice once said: True Dragons were the species of the Creator.

Who else could the Creator be if not the oldest sibling? And he didn't see anyone else claiming to be family.

The so-called big brother approached him and immediately hugged him—Veldanava rubbing his head against Aziel's scales despite being tiny compared to the colossal dragon.

"Hehe, brother… then sister, sister, and brother again… hehehe." Veldanava giggled to himself.

{You seem to know their genders already, My Lord.}

"Hmph. It's not like I specifically made two of each gender because I wanted to—it's called prediction."

Aziel had many questions—like where that mysterious voice came from—but the biggest one was:

Why was this dude rubbing on him like an oversized puppy?

He felt… very uncomfortable.

OMG EVERYTHING FELT SO RUSHED, I HOPE IT'S READABLE.

Also; I used the fan created version of veldanava, since the mc will have black, it'll be weird if 2 true dragons have black hair.
