Chapter 25 - Catwoman's Windows

The tricks that usually worked effortlessly on Connors had no effect.

But Catwoman Selina Kyle quickly adapted, her hands clawed as she raked them towards the back of Connors' head.

If that hit true, it could rip off a skull, but she had no killing intent, only wanting to change tactics temporarily to knock him out.

"Tsk, you're really like a little cat, you like to scratch."

Selina's claws were firmly held by two hands grabbing her wrists, then Connors used his arm strength to pull her off him and throw her aside.

He wanted to ask Catwoman if she had encountered Poison Ivy or Killer Croc.

Coming to find Catwoman was partly for the gossip, but the other reason was to inquire about the two escapees from Arkham Asylum who hadn't caused any trouble.

They were the only two.

But after Catwoman was thrown, her body twisted nimbly in the air, and upon landing on the rooftop, she turned to run.

Connors was prepared, holding up a piece of jewelry he had taken from Catwoman using a Little Trick:

"If you run away, you'll never see this thing again."

Catwoman Selina's face showed a fleeting expression of pain, then she pretended nothing was wrong and said:

"It doesn't matter, there are so many jewelry stores in Gotham."

Saying that, Selina swiped a hand at her waist, and the object hidden in her belt was immediately drawn out,

And whipped towards Connors.

A long whip!

She couldn't understand why she, Gotham's most skilled thief, had her jewelry stolen from her face by this man.

But it didn't matter, with the long whip in hand, her combat power multiplied geometrically, and she believed that no matter how strong this person was,

He wouldn't be able to handle her whip.

However, what happened made Catwoman unable to understand again.

Although the long whip was clearly aimed at the hand holding the jewelry, no matter how hard she tried, the whip that usually hit whatever she aimed at seemed to be disobedient, constantly whipping the ground.

Snap, snap, snap—Connors was perfectly fine, but the ground next to him was being whipped loudly.

"What did you do?" Selina's voice was soft and sweet, completely inconsistent with her fighting style and agile figure.

"Just a little sleight of hand," Connors said with a smile.

Catwoman was both anxious and angry, and simply stopped aiming at Connors' hand, instead swinging the whip in a circle, sweeping horizontally.

If it's a sleight of hand, then I'll just not aim! Catwoman thought angrily.

Facing this horizontal sweep with the long whip, Connors' sleight of hand was indeed powerless, so he simply used his speed, taking large strides to close in on Selina.

By the time Catwoman realized something was wrong and wanted to escape, she couldn't.

The long whip she used for fighting now became a restraint binding her, with the other end firmly held in Connors' hand.

Leather clothes, leather whip, eye mask, outdoors—

Connors looked at the scene before him with a strong sense of déjà vu, casting aside the unhealthy thoughts in his mind, and said seriously to Selina:

"You'll have to bear with it for a moment, I'm afraid you'll run away if I untie you—I want to ask you something, you seem to be active at night, have you seen Killer Croc and Poison Ivy?"

"One is a man who looks like a crocodile, the other, um—should be especially beautiful, maybe wearing green clothes, a woman who can control plants."

Seeing that Catwoman, whose hands were tied behind her back, refused to speak, Connors casually flicked the whip in his hand.

"Mm," Catwoman let out a soft hum.

"?"

Connors felt something was wrong and flicked the whip twice more.

[Today's Gossip: Selina's Windows]

[Submit?]

Amidst Catwoman's soft hum, the gossip system provided Connors with the answer at the right time.

So you're using this version of the Windows system... Connors suddenly understood.

Standing in front of a manhole cover on a street in Gotham City, Connors decided several times, but couldn't accept drilling into such a place.

Mainly because when he was driving towards Gotham Forest in the car during the day, he saw with his own eyes someone squatting by the drain outlet defecating.

Catwoman was just a novice thief in this World, completely unaware of Killer Croc and Poison Ivy. Connors didn't get any meaningful information, so he simply let her go.

Now standing in front of the manhole cover, Connors gave himself a final pep talk,

He couldn't find Poison Ivy, so for now, he could only try his luck in the sewers. He lifted the manhole cover.

"It's so damn smelly—"

The previous pep talk immediately fell apart in the face of the sewer smell, and Connors turned around and left.

The smell gave him inspiration. Since he had to push the development of the Laughing Man incident, and with Killer Croc and Poison Ivy nowhere to be found at the moment, he had another place to go.

Arkham Asylum!

After the inmates escaped from Arkham previously, Batman used Wayne Group's industry, under the name of Gotham's first family, to complete the prison section as quickly as possible. The villains caught later were still sent there.

Instead of running around looking for Killer Croc and Poison Ivy, it would be better to just go to Arkham and find the Joker face-to-face.

Then, the problem arose again.

Where is Arkham Asylum?

This question, theoretically, could be answered by asking anyone on the streets of Gotham City.

But it was midnight now, and only occasional vehicles were seen rushing by on the streets, with absolutely no pedestrians.

Between the Ghost Face Bar and the Andrew Hotel, Connors chose the latter without much hesitation. So, without a supercar, he once again took a taxi and arrived at the hotel where the big star Xue Xi was staying.

Xue Xi, being from out of town, naturally didn't know where Arkham Asylum was in Gotham, but there were people, phones, and the internet here, so Connors could easily get the answer.

Xue Xi naturally welcomed Connors' arrival with open arms. Half an hour later, composed, he drove out of the underground parking lot in a muscle car given to him by Xue Xi.

Arkham Asylum, as a place in Gotham City that combined a prison, a hospital, and a mental patient rehabilitation center, was naturally not located within the city, but in the deep suburbs on the outskirts of Gotham.

The Gothic clock tower could be seen from a distance. The dim yellow light on the huge clock did not provide illumination,

Instead, it looked incredibly eerie.

There was a searchlight every few meters along the wall, and a guard post every fifty meters, with searchlights constantly illuminating every dark area.

The moon in foreign countries is as round as in the Heavenly Dynasty, but the moon in Gotham clearly looks bigger—

Connors looked up at the huge moon in the sky, and the asylum that looked like a haunted house under the moonlight. He used a Little Trick, passed through layers of guards, came to the prison where the inmates were held, and found an empty cell.

Then he locked himself in.
