Chapter 26 - Season 2: Island of Darkness

We get a little fluff. :3

____________________________________________________________

*The ninjas reached the Dark Island, but are on the lookout for the Stone Army. Wu gasps.*

"This whole island is swarming with Garmadon's indestructible Stone Army." said Kai.

"Ha! Good thing we're ninjas, and we know how to hide." said Jay.

"Who wants to hide when you can fight? I'm getting tired of having our heads buried in the sand. I wanna fight these guys." said Cole.

"But Cole, they have no apparent weakness. It would be unwise to start a fight we cannot finish." said Zane.

"Yeah, Zane is right, we can't risk a fight we can't win." said Nalia.

"That is why we must find the Temple of Light." said Wu.

*They go into the Destiny's Bounty, where Misako explains the scrolls.*

"The scrolls say there is a hidden temple on the island. If you find it, it will give the ninjas pure elemental powers, powers that can destroy the indestructible army." said Misako.

"So you're saying we get to fight? Whoo-hoo! I've got happy feet!" said Cole.

"And you, my son, here it is written: "For once the Green Ninja finds the instrument of peace, he will strike it and know the power of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master." said Misako.

"Ultimate Spinjitzu Master?" Lloyd and Nalia repeated at the same time.

"It means you will be able to invoke the power of the Golden Dragon, an ancient fighting style only practiced by the First Spinjitzu Master." said Misako.

Everyone looks at him, surprised. "Hahaha. Jealous?"

Nalia rolled her eyes as she gently punched his arm. "Don't get cocky, smart ass."

"Nalia, language." said Wu.

"Sorry, Sensei." said Nalia.

"Uh, wait a minute. This all sounds too good to be true. What's the catch?" Kai questioned.

"The catch is, the Temple could be anywhere on the island, and all we have is this." Wu gives Dr. Julien a medallion with three holes.

"A medallion. It's like a compass. When the three holes match up, the medallion will reveal where the temple is hidden." said Julien.

"Uh, how'd you know that?" Jay asked.

"Oh, I did a lot of reading in my spare time." Julien chuckles. "Adventure stories were my favorite."

Zane takes the medallion. "Then what are we waiting for?" The ninjas get up.

Wu stops Lloyd and Nalia. "Not you two, Lloyd and Nalia."

"Ah, seriously? Are we still doing this?" asked Lloyd.

"I can understand with Lloyd, but why me too?" Nalia asked.

"Wu is right. If you were to come across your father, it could prematurely start the Final Battle. We need to be at full strength before we take any risks. And it would be best if, Nalia, stayed back as she still isn't at full strength yet." said Misako.

"Hahaha. Jealous?" said Jay.

"Well, I could use some help around the shop. We should get working on vehicles that might help give us a fighting chance." said Julien.

"Remember, Garmadon doesn't know we're on the island. It's imperative that you stay out of sight." said Wu.

"Of course, Sensei. Don't worry. Have you ever known us to veer from a plan?" said Jay, but Lloyd, Nalia, Wu, and Misako looked at them, not amused.

"Ninja—"

"Shh! Not so loud. Are you trying to get us caught?" said Wu.

"...go." whispered to Ninjas as they left.

Nalia let out a small sigh, as she went on to do the first patrol but not before Lloyd decided to join her.

They didn't say anything until Lloyd decided to speak up first.

"So, what did Wu wanted to talk with you about? Back at the Bounty?" Lloyd asked.

"He just wanted me to stay back and recover my energy since I haven't had much time to rest," Nalia told him, looking around for any danger. "We also talked about my plans after all this is over."

"Oh, and what are those future plans of yours, Nalia?" Lloyd asked.

Nalia looked over at him with a raised eyebrow. Since their talk, he hadn't used her nickname anymore, throwing her off a little.

"I'm gonna take a break from being a ninja and become a singer," said Nalia with a smile. I've always loved singing, and my voice can heal hurt people. However, I've only learned that I don't have much control over who I'm healing when I sing. So it's also a way to train myself to use that power."

Lloyd listened closely to what she was telling him, and he was surprised by how much she had thought about this. "You, train? I never thought I would hear that coming from you."

"Hey!" Nalia playfully pushed him as she let out a small giggle. "I can do training if I put my mind to it."

Lloyd chuckles as he returns the gesture. "Who are you? And what have you done with the real Nalia?"

Nalia rolled her eyes at him but still smiled at him. "You're such a jerk, Lloydie."

A smirk grew on Lloyd's face as he leaned down a little closer and blew some air against Nalia's neck, causing her to jump back, covering her mouth as she squealed.

"W-what the hell, Lloyd." said Nalia as her face was turning all red.

Lloyd had to hold down a laugh as he watched her reaction. "What? I thought it would be the perfect reaction to your comment."

"You're the worst, Lloyd, and here I thought you were done trying to be evil." Pouted Nalia, crossing her arms.

"Hey, if I was trying to still be evil I wouldn't do this." said Lloyd, pulling her over and began tickling her.

"Lloyd! We are meant to be *laughs* quiet here *laughs* if you keep this up *laughs* we'll get caught." Nalia gently pushed him away so he would stop tickling her.

Lloyd chuckled as he were pushed away, but didn't mind it. "Sorry, I just wanted to cheer you up a bit."

Nalia looked over at him as she had calm down from laughing. "Cheer me up from what?"

"You seemed a little nervous when we got here, and I could hear it in your voice when you were singing," said Lloyd as he gently took her hand. "Whatever makes you so nervous, I just want you to know I'm right here with you, Lia." A gentle smile grew on his face.

Nalia looked up at him as her face grew red, but being here with Lloyd and holding each other's hand made her feel more comfortable than when he first told her they were going to this place. "Thanks, greenie."

"Anything for you, starlight." Lloyd started walking with her for the rest of the patrol while holding each other's hands.

*A few minutes later, after the patrol. The rest of the team help build the Earth Driller.*

"Thank you, Wu. If you could fetch some more creek water, that should pretty much do it." said Julien.

"So, how did you meet him?" Lloyd asked after he noticed Wu and Misako looking at each other.

"Who? Sensei Wu?" Misako asked.

"No, my father." said Lloyd.

Misako sighs. "You know, he wasn't always like the way he is today. It took years for his poisoned heart to turn him evil. There was a time when I loved him very much. And he was very proud."

"When was that?" Lloyd asked.

"When we had you." They embrace.

"And now it all comes down to me fighting him." said Lloyd.

Nalia had gone on to make a few sand walls, so they wouldn't be noticed for some time.

While Wu is filling a bucket with water, he hears a Stone Swordsman talking. He hides but steps on a stick. They start fighting, but Lloyd and Nalia save him.

"Watch out!" shouted Misako as Lloyd and her traps the Swordsmen.

"That was close. Our presence on the island cannot be hidden for much longer. I just hope the ninjas have located the Temple. Knowing them, they have probably already found it by now." said Wu.

"I hope so," said Nalia, looking up at the sky and holding up her hand as she made a few stars move slightly in the sky, even though it was hard to see in the daylight.

"What are you doing?" Lloyd asked.

"Playing with the stars," said Nalia, moving her hand ever so slightly as she had the stars go around in a circle.

Lloyd looked up, trying to see if he could see any stars in the sky. "I don't see them."

Nalia let out a small giggle. "Looks like my eyes just see more clearly than yours."

Lloyd rolled his eyes playfully, as they headed back to the Bounty. "Whatever you say, starlight."

It wasn't long until the ninjas returned.

"Hey, they found the Falcon." said Julien.

"Why are they running?" Lloyd asked.

"Wy do I have a feeling that there is trouble right behind them?" Nalia questioned, staying close to Lloyd for comfort.

"Prepare for battle. We've got company." said Zane.

"You were spotted? By one? Two?" Wu asked.

"How about...all of them?" said Kai.

"Oh, mangos." said Nalia, not happy about those news.

"Did you locate the Temple of Light?" Misako asked.

"It's at the top of the mountain. I hope those vehicles are ready because we could sure use them now." said Kai.

"Guess you're gonna have to figure this baby out on the fly." said Julien.

"We've also packed another surprise in the back. Perhaps it can be of use." Nya kisses Jay.

"Another Nya surprise?" said Jay.

".....So, that's what a kiss is?" Nalia thought to herself, as her face slowly were turning red. She glanced over at Lloyd only to then quickly look away as she grew more red.

"You'll have to go too. Be safe." said Misako.

"We will." said Lloyd, before taking Nalia's hand and dragged her along.

They climb into the Earth Driller.

"Whatever you do, do not stop until you get to the Temple of Light. Our survival depends on it." said Wu.

"This time, we'll stick to the plan." said Kai.

"Good luck, ninjas." said Wu.

They drive off.

"Attack!" shouted Kozu.

"You do know how to steer this thing, don't you?" Jay asked.

"Whoo-hoo!" They start digging underground to the mountain. "Well, that's about as far as this baby will go. We'll have to do the rest on our own." said Cole.

"But we'll never make it up the mountain before they arrive." said Lloyd.

"Well, then let's see what my sister packed." Kai finds the Fire Mech in the back and activates it. "Oh, I love my sis. Leave this to me. Hey, buddy, you just had to be first. And guess what you win? A little of this!" He throws the Warrior in the jungle. "Who's next?" He smashes their vehicles.

"These guys just don't stop." said Jay.

"Climb on." Kai climbs up the mountain.

"Ugh. They're still coming." said Jay.

"One of these days we're gonna have to fight." said Cole.

"We're not climbing fast enough." said Zane.

"Activate hook!" Kai uses a grappling hook.

"Oh! We made it to the top! But where's the Temple of Light?" Jay questioned.

"Are you sure you used the medallion right?" Lloyd asked.

"Oh, of course I used it right. It said it should be right here." said Jay.

Nalia looked up as she could feel that they were getting close to something.

"Well, until we find it, I've got to find a way to slow them down." Kai pushes the Army off. "That should buy us a little time." They climb up some more.

"We are getting close." said Nalia, as she hadn't taken her eyes off from where she was looking.

"How do you know?" Lloyd asked.

"I can just, feel it." said Nalia, and soon enough they had arrived.

"The Temple of Light." Lloyd gasped.

Jay looks around until he sees some drawings on the walls. "Guys, check this out. It's us."

"Impossible. It's everything we've ever done." said Kai.

"Finding the Bounty, facing the Devourer, even right now." said Cole.

"How could it all be here?" Zane asked.

Nalia looked around at some of the drawings until she noticed one that looked faded. All she could see was a golden egg that shifted to a human and then a golden dragon.

"What does this mean?" Nalia wondered as she placed a hand on the drawing. When she touched it, she felt a sharp pain in her head, and she took a step back. "W-what did I just see?" She mumbled in shock, as for a moment, she thought she saw herself coming out of that golden egg.

"Destiny. I think I know what we need to do." Lloyd wipes the dust off the floor and finds his Energy symbol. "Look." The others except Nalia do the same thing. "Okay, now what?"

Nalia had snapped out of what she had just seen, and turned her attention back to the others.

The Warriors are getting close to them.

"Why does everything have to be so hard?" Cole asked.

Lloyd tried to think until he remember his mother's words. "For once the Green Ninja finds the instrument of peace, he will strike it and know the power of the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master." He looked around as he noticed the bell. "The bell. It's an instrument. You guys ready for this?"

"Bring it." said Cole.

Lloyd kicks the bell and they're surrounded by light. "Whoa! What's happening?!"

Nalia growled in pain as she quickly had to cover her eyes. "Fuck, not this again!" She slowly tried looking between her fingers, and ever so slowly, the glow of their elemental powers wasn't hurting her eyes as much.

"No one move!" said Zane.

The ninjas are given new gis and, except Lloyd and Nalia, Elemental Blades.

"Guys, send him your powers!" shouted Kai, they all went on to send their powers until Lloyd falls. "Lloyd!"

"Let 'em have it!" shouted Lloyd.

"Now we get to fight!" said Cole.

Kai uses his Blade. "Cool. Whoo-hoo!"

Nalia pulled out her staff and surrounded it with cosmic energy this time. "Ready for round 2?"

The ninjas use their powers on the Army.

Cole buries the Warriors in dirt. He laughs before immediately turning around to do the moonwalk with Nalia. They each jumps on three Stone Warriors before landing in the middle. "Hee, hee." They spins and lands on their toes, before giving each other a high-five.

Nalia swung her staff and knocked two stone warriors into each other, while remembering Wu's words of not going all out like before.

"My turn." Lloyd summons the Golden Dragon.

Nalia watched, amazed by what she saw, before she noticed a small crack on her staff. "I hope it can hold on for just a little longer."

"Retreat!" shouted Kozu.

"They did it!" cheered Nya.

"Yes." said Wu.

"Perhaps good will win after all." Misako hugs Wu.

"Hmm."
