BEN 10: ULTIMATE ALIEN
"Buried Signal"
A Fan-Made Episode Script (Original Story)
COLD OPEN
EXT. BELLWOOD SUBWAY CONSTRUCTION SITE — NIGHT
A half-finished subway extension, scaffolding and warning tape everywhere. Construction lights buzz over an open excavation pit. A NIGHT FOREMAN checks a clipboard near the pit's edge, frowning at his own readings.
FOREMAN
(muttering)
Ground sensors keep spiking. Nothing down there but bedrock and old utility lines.
A tremor rolls through the site — subtle, but enough to rattle loose tools off a nearby cart. The foreman steadies himself, shining a flashlight down into the pit.
Deep below, something glints — a faint, pulsing blue light buried in the rock, far deeper than any utility line should run.
FOREMAN (CONT'D)
(into radio, uneasy)
Site office, I need someone to look at section four. There's something under the bedrock that isn't on any utility map I've got.
The tremor hits again, stronger. A crack splits across the pit floor, venting a thin stream of pale dust into the air — and the foreman backs away fast as the crack widens into a small, dark fissure.
INT. TENNYSON GARAGE — NIGHT
BEN TENNYSON, GWEN TENNYSON, and KEVIN LEVIN are mid-conversation when Max's call comes through on speaker.
MAX (V.O.)
(filtered, brisk)
Construction crew at the new subway site just reported unexplained tremors and a buried energy signature with no known origin. I want eyes on it before the city issues a press statement that makes this sound like an earthquake.
KEVIN
(grabbing his keys)
Buried energy signature under a subway pit. Definitely not just bedrock, then.
GWEN
(already pulling up site schematics on her tablet)
Whatever it is, it's deep. That's not a surface anomaly.
BEN
(standing)
Then let's go dig it up before it digs itself out the hard way.
ACT ONE
EXT. CONSTRUCTION SITE — EXCAVATION PIT — NIGHT
The site's been cleared, yellow tape strung loosely around the widening fissure. Ben, Gwen, and Kevin peer down into the dark pit, the faint pulsing blue glow visible far below.
GWEN
(scanning)
Signal's stable but deep — easily forty feet down, embedded directly in solid rock.
KEVIN
(eyeing the narrow fissure)
None of us are squeezing through that gap to take a look.
BEN
(slapping the Ultimatrix)
Good thing I know someone who doesn't need eyes to find his way around in the dark.
[TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
Green light wraps him. His form hunches low, fur erupting across orange-and-black hide, no visible eyes, a wide sensor-fin flaring open atop his skull.
BEN (AS WILDMUTT)
(low growl)
Wildmutt! Perfect. Dark, cramped, full of weird signals — basically my ideal Tuesday.
He drops into the fissure, claws finding purchase easily in the rough rock, sensor-fin flaring wide as he descends into the dark.
INT. UNDERGROUND CAVITY — CONTINUOUS
A naturally formed cavity, far older than the construction site above it. Wildmutt prowls through the dark, scenting the air — and beneath the mineral tang of raw stone, something else: faint, metallic, deliberately placed rather than naturally occurring.
WILDMUTT
(snarling, alert)
That's not natural. Something put this here.
He follows the scent deeper, emerging into a wider chamber where the source reveals itself: a half-buried, ancient-looking device embedded directly into the cavity wall, pulsing with the same pale blue light from the surface, faint cracks of energy spreading outward into the surrounding rock like roots.
WILDMUTT (CONT'D)
(over comm, low)
Found it. Old tech, buried deep, and it's been slowly cracking the rock around it for a while now. This isn't new. This has been sitting here a long time.
GWEN (V.O.)
(urgent, over comm)
Don't touch it yet — if it's been stable for years and the construction crew's drilling finally disturbed it, direct contact might destabilize it further.
Too late — a chunk of loosened rock shifts beneath Wildmutt's paws, and he stumbles forward, one claw scraping directly across the device's pulsing surface.
The device FLARES violently, and the entire chamber shudders.
WILDMUTT
(yelping, scrambling back)
Yeah, that probably wasn't great.
ACT TWO
The disturbed energy ripples outward through the rock in visible cracks of light, and the chamber begins actively destabilizing — chunks of ceiling crumbling, the device's pulse now rapid and erratic.
WILDMUTT
(snarling, backing toward the fissure)
Whatever I just woke up, it's not happy about it.
A section of wall directly behind the device CRACKS open entirely, revealing a deeper hollow — and from within, a rocky, humanoid guardian-shape stirs, crystalline veins running through stone limbs, eyes igniting with the same pale blue glow as the device it was clearly built to protect.
GWEN (V.O.)
(scanning frantically)
Ben, that thing's reading as a dense, semi-organic mineral construct. It's not just rock — there's something genuinely alive in there.
WILDMUTT
(backing up as the guardian rises to full height, easily matching the chamber's ceiling)
A live rock guardian. Sure. Why not.
The guardian lunges, swinging a massive stone fist. Wildmutt dodges, but the chamber's unstable ceiling groans dangerously from the impact alone.
WILDMUTT
(grim)
Speed's not gonna help much against something built entirely out of "heavy."
He glances at the Ultimatrix, already flickering.
[TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
Green light. His hunched, furred frame bulks upward, two extra arms sprouting from his sides, skin reddening, muscles surging dramatically.
BEN (AS FOUR ARMS)
(flexing all four fists)
Four Arms! Alright, big guy. Let's see whose grip strength wins this one.
He catches the guardian's next swing on two crossed forearms, using the other two fists to drive a powerful counter-punch into its stone torso. Cracks spiderweb across the impact point — but the guardian barely staggers, clearly built to absorb exactly this kind of hit.
FOUR ARMS
(grunting)
Okay. Tough customer.
The guardian retaliates with a sweeping double-handed strike, and Four Arms is sent skidding back hard into the chamber wall, more rock crumbling loose from the already-unstable ceiling above.
GWEN (V.O.)
(alarmed, over comm)
Ben, every hit down there is destabilizing that whole chamber further! You need to either end this fast or get out before the ceiling decides for you!
FOUR ARMS
(standing, shaking off the impact)
Ending it fast it is.
He charges again — but the guardian, anticipating the same brute approach, simply braces and absorbs the full impact of all four fists at once without yielding, clearly having adapted instantly to the pattern of raw strength.
FOUR ARMS
(staggering back, surprised)
...Okay, that's annoying. It's matching force for force now.
Four Arms backs off, breathing hard, watching the guardian reset into a defensive stance, clearly built to counter exactly the kind of fight he's been giving it.
FOUR ARMS
(grim, glancing at the Ultimatrix)
Then let's stop hitting it like something breakable and start hitting it like something I can actually out-last.
[TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
Green light. His bulky red form smooths into something sleek, crystalline, pale green and faceted, sharp angular limbs catching the chamber's pulsing light.
BEN (AS DIAMONDHEAD)
(steady)
Diamondhead. If you're built out of rock, let's see how you like fighting something that's built out of better rock.
He meets the guardian's next strike directly, crystalline forearm absorbing the full impact without cracking, the guardian's stone fist instead chipping slightly against his harder structure.
DIAMONDHEAD
(small, grim smile)
There we go. Guess hardness beats raw mass after all.
The two trade blows evenly now, neither gaining ground, the chamber shaking harder with every exchange — clearly not a fight either of them can actually win quickly enough before the ceiling fully gives way.
GWEN (V.O.)
(urgent)
Ben, you're at a stalemate, and stalemates take time you don't have! That chamber's not holding much longer!
DIAMONDHEAD
(grunting through gritted teeth)
Then I need to stop matching it and start getting past it.
ACT THREE
He glances past the guardian toward the still-pulsing, half-exposed device embedded in the chamber wall — clearly the actual source of the guardian's purpose and stability — and makes a decision.
[TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
Green light. His crystalline form dissolves into something fluid, translucent green, shapeless and oozing.
BEN (AS GOOP)
(bubbling voice)
Goop! Sorry, big guy — can't out-muscle you, so let's see how you handle something with no muscle to grab onto at all.
He flattens and flows directly beneath the guardian's next swing, sliding low and fast across the rubble-strewn floor, slipping past its bulk entirely toward the device itself.
The guardian turns, slower now, clearly built for direct confrontation rather than chasing something with no fixed shape.
GOOP
(reaching the device)
Okay. Let's see what you're actually protecting.
He carefully flows around the device rather than touching its pulsing core directly, examining the surrounding rock structure instead — and notices the cracks radiating outward aren't random. They're a containment pattern, slowly weakening exactly where the construction drilling struck closest.
GOOP (CONT'D)
(realization, urgent)
Gwen, this isn't a weapon. It's a containment seal. The guardian's not attacking us out of aggression — it's trying to keep us away from a structure that's already failing because of the construction work, not because we touched it.
GWEN (V.O.)
(grim)
Then disturbing it further is the actual danger, not the guardian itself.
Behind Goop, the guardian closes in fast, clearly intent on physically removing the new threat near its charge regardless of intention.
GOOP
(backing carefully away from the device, hands raised)
Easy! Not trying to break it! Just trying to help you actually protect it properly!
The guardian doesn't slow. Goop, with nowhere left to retreat without risking the device, glances at the Ultimatrix — flickering rapidly now, the transformation overlapping directly from his current shapeless form.
GOOP (CONT'D)
(determined)
Then I need something that can actually understand what it's protecting, not just dodge around it.
[ULTIMATE TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE]
Green light wraps his shapeless form, snapping immediately into Wildmutt's hunched silhouette — but the Ultimatrix symbol on his chest is already deploying mechanical petals before the base form even fully settles, evolving directly.
BEN (AS ULTIMATE WILDMUTT)
(deep, layered snarl)
Ultimate Wildmutt!
His sensor-fin widens dramatically, bony plating crowning his skull, senses sharpening far beyond Wildmutt's base range — and for the first time, he can perceive not just the device's energy signature, but the exact structural pattern of the failing containment seal itself, reading the cracks like a wound he can actually trace and understand.
ULTIMATE WILDMUTT
(snarling, focused)
There. I can read it now. The seal's not failing because of us. It's failing because the drilling up top hit a structural weak point days ago. You've been holding this together alone the whole time.
The guardian hesitates, clearly registering something different in this new approach — recognition, rather than threat.
Rather than fight, Ultimate Wildmutt moves alongside the guardian to the weakened section of the seal, using his heightened senses to precisely identify the exact fracture points the construction drilling created, directing the guardian's own immense strength toward sealing them properly instead of simply standing guard against an unsolvable, worsening problem.
ULTIMATE WILDMUTT
(guiding)
There — that crack, then that one. You can actually fix this faster than I can. You just needed someone to tell you where to look.
Working together, the guardian's powerful hands compress and reseal the worst fractures under Ultimate Wildmutt's precise direction, the device's erratic pulsing finally steadying into a slow, stable rhythm. The chamber's violent shuddering calms, ceiling debris settling rather than continuing to crumble.
The guardian, finished, turns to Ultimate Wildmutt and inclines its massive head — something like gratitude, wordless but clear.
ULTIMATE WILDMUTT
(quiet, respectful)
Yeah. You're welcome. Sorry we came in swinging first.
TAG SCENE
EXT. CONSTRUCTION SITE — LATER
Dawn breaks over the site. The fissure has been carefully reinforced and marked off by Plumber engineers, the subway construction plans quietly rerouted around the chamber below. Max oversees the adjustments as Ben, back to human, stands with Gwen and Kevin.
MAX
(reviewing updated site schematics)
Ancient containment structure, stable for who knows how long, until modern construction got too close. We've rerouted the tunnel design to avoid the area entirely going forward.
GWEN
And the guardian just keeps doing what it's always done. Quietly. Underground. Nobody the wiser.
BEN
(half-smiling, exhausted)
Yeah. Honestly, kind of respect the commitment.
KEVIN
(stretching, dust-covered)
Wildmutt, then Four Arms, then Diamondhead, then Goop, then Ultimate Wildmutt — and the actual fix was pointing at some cracks. We really do make this look harder than it has to be sometimes.
BEN
(smirking, glancing at the Ultimatrix — calm, green, quiet now)
In fairness, every single one of those steps mattered. Just took the right one to actually finish the job.
Max gives a small nod of approval, heading back to oversee the engineering crew. Gwen and Kevin fall into step beside Ben as the three head off, the construction site behind them finally calm under the rising sun.
FADE OUT.
END OF EPISODE
Writer's Notes
All four requested aliens get a distinct, necessary beat this time: Wildmutt locates the buried device via scent in total darkness (and inadvertently triggers the escalation), Four Arms tests brute force and proves the guardian adapts to match raw strength, Diamondhead achieves a hardness-based stalemate that buys time but can't resolve the conflict alone, and Goop uses fluid stealth to bypass the guardian entirely and correctly diagnose the real problem (a failing ancient containment seal, not a hostile attack) — setting up the actual resolution.
Ultimate Wildmutt closes the loop by combining Wildmutt's sensory specialty with the structural understanding Goop uncovered, allowing Ben to read the failing seal precisely enough to direct the guardian's own strength toward fixing it — turning a four-stage escalation into a cooperative resolution rather than a victory through force.
The "villain" is, once more, a protector rather than an aggressor — a recurring theme across this set — but this script emphasizes mutual misunderstanding under physical pressure (a ceiling actively collapsing) rather than fear or panic, giving the mystery a more procedural, problem-solving shape in keeping with the request for a tightly structured, satisfying full alien lineup.
This is an original fan-made story using the existing Ben 10 Ultimate Alien characters and the established Wildmutt, Four Arms, Diamondhead, Goop, and Ultimate Wildmutt transformations — not a reproduction of any official episode or script.
