'Leverage…?' Alessia echoed, her mind buzzing.
He didn't really mean that, did he? There was no way he would hurt Kiera just to make her do something she didn't want to do…
But even that thought didn't seem to convince her enough. Fear still settled at the base of her stomach… something was going to go wrong.
'You need to be strong, my dear Lessia. Now, pull the trigger on that scum,' He ordered, taking another small gun out of a holster at his other side and pointing it in Kiera's direction. 'Or I'll plant a bullet in your friend's head.'
Alessia's knees nearly buckled. 'You… you can't do that!'

Kiera let out a blood-curdling, muffled scream, rattling Alessia's mind. She slumped to the floor with a heavy thud, her hand over a bleeding gash in her leg.
Xandro had fired the gun without even flinching and it had grazed her leg, just short of piercing her bone.
