There wasn't even a receptionist to welcome them. The whole place looked strangely empty, and she wondered if there was any staff here in the first place.
Just minutes after she had that thought, she heard the soft sound of a car's engine. There was the thumping sound of boots, before the figure came to stand at the entrance of the building.
He was tall, just barely shorter than Dervan, she assumed. His hair was the colour of rust and his eyes were a striking stormy grey.
Dervan let out a huff as he stood up. "What took you so long?"
Jan shrugged, a smirk playing on his lips. "You call me to such a remote place like this and you expect me to come running?"
Dervan let out a sigh. "I just needed you to act as a witness. You could have bolted immediately the certificate was signed."
