"Ah, yes…" The registrar's enthusiasm died down a little after Dervan's statement. He reached out a hand toward them. "Hand over your identification documents please, I will have to go through them."
Dervan handed him the files he was holding onto, and the man flipped through them quickly. He paused for a few moments at Alessia's birth certificate.
"Marino?" He mumbled under his breath as he stroked his chin. "Interesting…"
Alessia frowned. Was there anything special about that name?
"Alright. I've confirmed the authenticity of the documents." He said. "We may proceed with the vows if you would allow–"
"There will be no vows." Dervan cut him off sharply. "We don't have the time for that, but as you requested, I've brought a witness."
The registrar blinked, a little taken aback. "Oh well, that's–that's alright then…" He said, taking out a sheet of paper from one of the transparent envelopes on his desk.
He faced it toward them and handed Dervan a pen.
