Chapter 14 - Unexpected

What in the world.

Noor tried to yell, but Ria grabbed both his hands and covered his mouth, silencing him.

"Mmm… muhmmm—"

"Shhh. I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to talk," Ria whispered softly.

Noor's eyes widened. He slowly calmed down and gestured with his eyes for her to let go.

"Oh—sorry." She awkwardly smiled and released him.

Both stayed silent for a second.

Noor opened the door slightly and checked if anyone was in the hallway, then quietly locked the room door again.

(If anybody finds out there's a girl in my room—AND she's my class captain—I'll be deep fried…)

"So, are you going to apologize to me, miss?" Noor squinted his eyes.

"Yes! How did you know?" Ria awkwardly laughed while scratching her head.

"I guessed it, and it turned out right." Noor sat in his chair.

"Oh, I see… So, will you please forgive me for that incident?" She spoke fast.

"Why would I?" Noor replied with a careless expression.

"Wahhh—what? You're not going to forgive me?" Ria looked desperate.

"Woah—wait!"

(She reacted like she was about to eat me alive.)

"But I'm really sorry…" Ria looked down.

"Wait—are you actually crying?" Noor was shocked.

"N-No… where? I'm not crying." She looked away.

Noor looked at her with a cringe-filled expression.

(What in the world is with her acting like this? She literally jumped through my window dressed like a tomboy, messy hair, awkward smile… She's nothing like before. Did she go mentally unstable after losing to Miss Jenne?)

He rubbed his chin, staring down.

"Hey! Are you even noticing me?"

"Huh—? Phew… man, that scared me," Noor held his chest.

"Why are you so desperate for my forgiveness, miss?" Noor asked.

"Well… it's been bothering me. No matter how much I try, I can't get that moment out of my mind."

"But didn't you hate me from the very beginning? Since the first day?" Noor asked, confused.

"Yes, I did… but only because you were with Jenne." She scratched her head.

"Oh, I see. But you do realize you're visiting her house, right?"

"I know… but I had to bury my pride to meet you. Hehe."

(Oh god, again—she's nothing like before. It's like fighting the final boss vs unlocking them as a playable character.)

Noor sighed deeply.

"Anyway… I knew you weren't a bad person. Also, me getting bullied and humiliated had nothing to do with you."

"You knew?!" Her eyes sparkled as she leaned close.

"Woah—woah—why are you so excited? And please keep your distance." Noor panicked.

"No—it's just… it's really relieving to hear that!"

(Wait… seriously? Does my opinion matter THAT much to her?)

"So… ahem… what are you, really? And why did you attack me?" Noor asked.

Ria's expression suddenly darkened.

"Hey… Noor."

"Hmm?"

"Do you believe in supernatural things?"

"I didn't before… but now it's a different matter."

"Have you heard about werewolves?"

"I've already watched over fifty movies about that," Noor said boldly.

"Well… I'm one," she said.

"Oh, I already guessed tha—"

"WHAT?!"

His yell echoed through the mansion.

Noor froze for a second, then said awkwardly:

"Oh… I already saw your true form so… I guess it's not new anymore, haha."

"Then why did you yell?" Ria whispered.

"I… I don't know… I have a high fever, my head is spinning…" Noor wobbled.

Knock.

Knock.

"Eek—"

"Miss, you really need to go now," Noor whispered urgently.

"But there are guards patrolling outside," she pointed at the window.

"How can you say that so casually?! What if they catch you?" Noor trembled.

"Oh, I have a backup plan. If they catch me, I'll say I'm your girlfriend and I came to see you because you were sick."

"Since when—?"

"From today."

Noor looked upward.

(God, I can't take this anymore…)

"Whatever! You need to hide, please I'm begging you."

"Okay, okay… in that case, I'll hide under your bed."

"But under my bed there's no empty space."

"What about the big wardrobe? I'll hide there."

"But it's filled with clothes. Not even a mouse can fit in there."

"Then what about the ceiling? I'll stick myself there."

"You're a wolf, not a spider!"

"Oh… right."

Knock.

Knock.

"Sir Noor, is there any problem? Please open the door."

"What do I do—what do I do—?!"

"Ah—Miss Ria! Hide under the blanket on my bed. They're thick enough, nobody will notice."

"Oh, you mean there?" She pointed.

"JUST DO IT!"

"Sir, please open the door."

Noor opened the door, huffing.

"Huff… huff…"

"Sir, is anything wrong? Why are you breathing so heavily? Why is your heartbeat so loud? And… why are you sweating?" Rosy asked.

"Well, as you can see, Miss Rosy… I was doing some push-ups to get stronger. Huh… huff…"

"Oh—but it's already past midnight. You should sleep now. Also… I heard you yelling."

"Well… uh… when I was doing push-ups, a cockroach came close to my mouth… that's why."

"Oh, I see. Please sleep now."

"I will. Sorry for worrying you, miss."

"It's okay."

She left and shut the door.

"Phew…"

"So she hid perfectly—Miss Ria, you can come out, we're out of dang—"

She didn't answer.

He removed the blanket.

"Hmm… this bed is so comfortable. My bed is always cold, but this one is so warm. Hehe."

"Miss—! You weren't supposed to sleep in my bed. Please get up." Noor tried pulling the blanket.

"But why? It's so comfortable… Also, shouldn't you be happy your bed is filled with a girl's scent?"

"Yes. I'm so happy I want to burn it down." Noor looked upward in despair.

Then she jumped out of the bed.

"I'll be going. See you at school."

Before jumping out the window, she gave him a warm smile.

Noor chuckled.

"Never thought in my dreams something like this would happen…"

Some days later, in school

"Why is she sitting next to me…?"
