Chapter 57 - Chapter 58: No Abnormalities

This was an ordinary jungle planet that was spared from the Empire's grasp because it lacked valuable resources. Only farmers and fishermen lived here, leading peaceful lives.

Amir passed through the planet's atmosphere and flew toward the coordinates Ahsoka had sent him.

From a distance, he spotted a Republic troop transport ship docked there.

He landed the Traveler next to it and stepped out of the cockpit. It was his first time seeing this group of Gulina's people.

Without enough safety belts, they could only steady themselves by grabbing onto the furniture, but it was of little use. The ship's turbulence made their faces even paler.

Lango also crawled out of the gunner's compartment.

Amir walked over to Lango and patted him on the shoulder, finally feeling that his efforts had not been in vain. The people from Coruscant were like his brothers and sisters.

"You're one lucky bastard," Amir laughed, happy to see that Lango was safe and sound.

"I'm sorry," Lango said, smiling apologetically. "I thought I could do it."

Suddenly feeling inspired, Amir raised his right hand and waved it in front of Lango.

"You owe me ten thousand credits," he said.

"I owe me ten thousand credits," Lango repeated dazedly.

"That's right! No need to apologize."

Amir patted Lango on the shoulder again and happily opened the door of the Traveler.

Lango snapped back to reality. His eyes were vacant as he muttered, "Ten thousand credit points," but he suddenly noticed the box in Chewbacca's hand, and his eyes lit up again.

. . .

"Lorin! Haratia! Kumapa! You're all still alive!" Gulina's joyful, slightly hoarse voice came from outside.

"Gulina! I almost died so many times. You have no idea what I went through!" Lorin cried. "What about Lorin? Is he okay?"

"He's fine." Gulina's eyes turned slightly red.

"What about the others? Aren't they with you?" she asked again.

"Only a dozen of us are here. The others were loaded onto another ship," Lorin replied.

Without disturbing their reunion, Amir went straight to Ahsoka.

"Here, Amir. We brought the equipment to the ship," Ahsoka said, waiting at the ship's entrance. Amir ran straight up.

His nerves were still on edge; he didn't know when the cruiser might reappear.

"Where's Veronica? Didn't she come?" Amir asked.

"When you first called me, she was on a mission and hasn't returned yet. But I've already told her your latest news."

"I hope it's not something that requires secrecy. She'll just throw bombs into the crowd," Amir thought suddenly.

"Her personality is indeed a bit... But this time, it's just delivering supplies to a few planets."

. . .

Amir quickly entered the ship's hall and saw a square platform in the center surrounded by various complex facilities.

"Please lie down," said a medical robot.

Amir lay down on the platform, feeling a little uneasy.

The scanner began to operate.

He felt nothing, and soon, the robot indicated that the scan was complete.

Amir took a deep breath, sat up, and looked at the scan of his body on the display.

"Your body is completely normal, sir," the robot said in its cold voice.

"Completely normal?"

Amir couldn't help but check again, carefully this time, but he still found nothing unusual.

"There's definitely nothing wrong, Amir," Ahsoka said, looking at the scan as well. "I'm having Hak check your spaceship."

After hesitating for a moment, she asked again, "Are you really sure you're being tracked?"

"A cruiser ambushed me twice with pinpoint accuracy. I don't think it's a coincidence. I have a feeling—the Force's warning, you know." Amir said, holding his head.

"So, have you become a Jedi apprentice?" Ahsoka asked with a smile.

"Just a student of Master Obi-Wan," Amir replied as he stood up.

At that moment, a young man with glasses walked in. "Hak. Amir, your ship didn't show anything that could transmit unknown signals."

After thinking for a moment, Hak continued, "Just to be on the safe side, I've jammed all signals in this area. If necessary, I can install a signal-jamming device on your ship to disrupt the transmission of various signals, including electromagnetic waves."

Amir nodded and said, "Thank you, Hak."

With the signal jamming device, they wouldn't be tracked anymore. However, the ship's communication and wireless control systems would only work when the device was turned off.

But this was the best option available.

"I brought this along when I came," Hak said, pulling a square device out of the spacecraft. "Its range can completely envelop your YT ship."

"He handles our logistics and always prepares everything meticulously," Ahsoka said.

"I can tell," Amir remarked.

"How's Obi-Wan? Is life on Tatooine going well?"

"He's a Jedi Master—overcoming obstacles and enduring hardship are his specialties," Amir joked.

Living in the wilds of Tatooine while evading the Empire and the Sith requires immense resilience.

Obi-Wan has been protecting Luke for ten years.

"Ha! Not all Jedi Masters are like Obi-Wan. So why is he there instead of on a more comfortable planet?" Ahsoka asked again.

"He's never mentioned it to me, and I've never asked." Amir knew the reason, though, and Obi-Wan hadn't yet shared Luke's story with him.

"Do you know how happy I was when I found out he was still alive?" Ahsoka stepped out of the ship and watched Gulina reunite with her family.

"During that time, when I meditated, all the energy I used to feel around me disappeared. Long ago, I could feel their echoes just by closing my eyes. I thought I was the only one left alive."

"There must be others still alive," Amir added. "They're probably hiding their identities and building their strength, just like you."

"I hope so. Just like Master Obi-Wan, who has already begun training students."

After a moment of silence, Ahsoka suddenly said, "You should join us, Amir. We need your help."

If it had been before, Amir would have refused without hesitation. He only wanted to wait out the war safely.

He knew the war would be won, the Empire would fall, and everything would return to normal.

But now, he hesitated. Even if he couldn't speed up the process, he felt that he could save more people from the Empire's oppression and prevent some tragedies.

"Once I've completed my training with Obi-Wan, I'll seriously consider it," Amir said. He wanted to be able to protect himself first—at the very least, be on equal footing with Vader.

. . .

"It's already installed. The switch is on the left side of the cockpit," Hak said, walking over from the Traveler.

"I really wish I could recruit this guy as a crew member," Amir thought. With Hak around, Amir wouldn't have to worry about logistics for Ahsoka's intelligence organization.

"I'm sure you need some rest. Go get some sleep. I have something to discuss with you tomorrow," Ahsoka said.

Time varies across planets. While it was morning on Tatooine, Amir had already been on the move for a whole day, and it was still midday there.

At that moment, Amir also felt fatigue in his body.

"Well, goodnight," he said.
