Even from several kilometers away, the tremor from the ground was unmistakable. The glass façades of the skyscrapers lining the streets rattled violently.
The area had already been evacuated in chaos; shoes, bags, and clothing smeared with footprints littered the streets—a testament to the panic during the evacuation.
Yet even on the empty pedestrian street, a few figures remained.
With the entire area's power supply cut, the elevators inside the buildings were inoperable. Kyo Kusanagi climbed the outer walls of a skyscraper, springing from ledge to ledge until he landed atop the towering roof.
His eyesight was extraordinary; even from several kilometers away, he could clearly see Titan's massive frame.
Through the Kusanagi family's extensive network across Japan, Kyo had already obtained video footage of the battle between Titan and Godzilla. Yet after much deliberation, he decided he needed to witness it in person.
Titan's immense destructive power was enough to instill terror, even from a distance. This was far beyond the reach of traditional Kusanagi-style martial arts.
"Times have changed."
Staring at the mountain-like machine, Kyo felt a wave of despair rise within him. Years of harsh training—the bitter winters, sweltering summers—had honed his combat skills, yet in this suddenly unfamiliar world, they seemed insignificant.
"Are you going to abandon Kusanagi-style martial arts?"
Iori Yagami's voice came from behind. Kyo clenched his teeth and looked toward the distant battlefield. Even the combined efforts of three fighters were no match for Godzilla, who now appeared like a helpless infant against Titan's might.
"Even if ancestors were to rise, they couldn't intervene in a battle like this. Perhaps we must adapt to the times… I'm about to graduate high school, Iori. Maybe I've been wrong about school all along. Ordinary kids have no need for martial arts—technology solves everything for them."
Kyo recalled the legendary martial artist Wong Fei-hung, who, when seeing foreign battleships and cannons at sea, likely had feelings similar to his own.
Iori's expression darkened like he'd been hit with a sledgehammer.
"You are a disgrace to the Three Sacred Art Families. Once my strength surpasses yours completely, I will come for your life!"
Iori tried to threaten Kyo with death, hoping to make him abandon this seemingly absurd idea. But seeing Kyo unmoved, he leapt from the rooftop.
Kyo shook his head, continuing to observe the battle between Titan and Godzilla.
Titan had removed the electromagnetic cannon from its back, aiming it directly at Godzilla, whose body was already battered and unable to defend itself, awaiting death silently.
Suddenly, a massive green flame surged from behind Titan, roaring like thunder.
The scorching fire heated the surrounding air to an extreme, engulfing Titan's upper body.
"Ha! You've underestimated me!"
Winston Johnson emerged from the rubble, sparks flying from his mouth and nostrils as he exhaled fire, scorching the ground beneath.
His remaining lizard DNA made his flames different from Norman Osborn's atomic breath—not as long-range or concentrated, but with a much wider coverage area.
After being kicked by Titan, Winston had sensed the disparity between them. Once fully healed, he chose to ambush rather than join Osborn directly.
As a former special forces commander, Winston remained calm, not letting personal grievances dictate his actions. SHIELD had developed such terrifying weapons—without cooperation, the Earth would have no place for them.
With sufficient time, the Godzilla genes implanted in their bodies could continue to evolve their forms and strength.
Winston's breath contained highly viscous resin, which adhered to Titan's body and ignited.
Under the intense heat, Titan's outer armor transformed from gray-black metal particles to crystalline scales, insulating the high temperatures.
Yet Titan's armor didn't cover the entire body. Winston specifically targeted the sensor-laden head, causing external sensors and radar to overheat, some burning out entirely. Even unaffected sensors were blocked by fire, leaving Steve inside with no external visibility.
Seizing the opportunity, Winston sprinted toward the already-injured Norman Osborn. His speed was nearly a blur.
Grabbing Osborn, Winston leapt several times, escaping the Tokyo University campus and aiming for the nearby river to flee.
If not for the ongoing fusion with Godzilla's genes, he wouldn't have been able to lift Osborn's massive body.
Tony Stark, who had been observing, reacted to the sudden turn and rushed in with the MK2 suit.
The MK2's armor scaled outward like fish scales, deploying internal missile pods. Mini anti-tank missiles, trailing white smoke like swarming bees, homed in on Winston.
Winston didn't dodge, shielding himself behind Osborn. The larger, heavier Osborn effortlessly blocked the missiles.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Explosions erupted; missiles tore through Osborn's outer layer, splattering blood. Yet the superheated jet streams, powerful enough to pierce tanks, barely penetrated beyond the skin.
Osborn roared in anger but made no move to struggle. Survival depended entirely on Winston.
Stark unleashed scorching plasma pulses, all blocked by Winston using Osborn as a shield.
Winston's speed was overwhelming; even the MK3 in orbit had trouble tracking him. Tony exhausted every weapon in MK2 to no avail—Winston's escape was unstoppable.
Boom!
Leaping once more, Winston dove into the river with Osborn on his back.
