Chapter 25 - Inheritance Of A Crime

The noises of people, and coins dropping from every machine fill the entire establishment. Among the crowd of people, Nicholas is brushing a mop on the floor.

He looks up and meets the stare of another janitor. The janitor stops walking in front of Nicholas, and points at the restroom.

"Hey, man! The restroom is dirty, and I just cleaned here."

"Oh, you want me to clean another area?"

"Yeah! The male restroom. It stinks there."

The same janitor who told Nicholas to clean the restroom, looks in a certain direction.

With a smirk plastered on his lips, he welcomed the fist bump of an approaching janitor.

"Did you tell Nicholas to clean there even if that's your job?"

The evil janitor just replies with a smirk. "Well, I don't want to clean today. Even if I don't clean that restroom, boss will still think that I cleaned the restroom."

He stares at Nicholas as he approaches the restroom, and continues saying, "After all, the boss will believe me. I have worked here longer than that amateur."

On the second floor, a woman with red hair is resting her hands on both of her sides as she's talking to the people surrounding her.

"I feel that same feeling again." Nicholas looked at her.

Unbeknownst to him, the woman standing on the second floor shifts her eyes toward him without whispering any words.

His eyes flinch, and the male restroom welcomes him with a foul odor that seems to stab his sense of smell on another level.

"It stinks here. What did they ate, rotten eggs and rice with mold!" Nicholas tightened his grasp around the handle of his mop, and he started to mop the floor; removing any dirt.

After mopping, he grabs the spray can from his belt, and sprays on the mirror before wiping it with a piece of grey cloth.

A smile forms on Nicholas' lips. "Good thing I haven't used my ability to move faster but where's the fun if I use my power?"

"I sound like a cartoon character." he chuckled.

Nicholas looks at the doorway of the restroom, and a young woman is walking from side to side towards a cubicle.

"This isn't the male restroom!"

The young woman covers his lip with her index finger. "Shh! I paid to play in this casino. I am a player, boy."

Nicholas raises his eyebrow and leans his head backwards. "Your smell reeks of alcohol!"

Her lips curve upward, and she falls forward but Nicholas catches her with his hands as she laughs.

"You're funny! Don't you know how old I am?"

"What?" Nicholas blinked.

"108, silly," she looked into his eyes, "you look handsome for a snack."

"What?!" Nicholas gasped but continued to hold her elbows.

She uses her left hand, twirling her left finger through her dark hair as she looks into his eyes. "A snack, silly."

"Sorry but I have work to do," Nicholas grabbed his mop, "I'll leave you here, and next time don't drink too much alcohol if you're alone."

Her eyes linger on his back as if she feels something in him. She places her hand on her chest, and she smirks, her white teeth are now exposed but two of them grow long and sharp.

"Target locked," she said.

Hours have passed, and Nicholas is sitting on a bench inside a wide room filled with lockers on each side.

He takes off the green covering of his sticky rice before taking a bite. The taste is sweet, and Nicholas hums while looking up.

"It tastes good! How about I mix this with matcha?" he looked down at his food.

Two men wearing the same blue polo shirt like his, enter the room. Nicholas continues eating, and his ears perk up as the two men start talking with one another.

"Have you heard the rumors?"

"Rumors? No, why would I spare my time listening to such things if I can just sleep?"

"But those men missing are debtors that once played in this casino, and that's chilling, bro!"

"There are so many players here that has huge debt but did they all vanish? No, because those debtors in those rumors must have been killed by the people that they owed so much money to."

"I don't believe that! Maybe, ma'am Cherry was the one who gave them–!"

The other man holds his collar and looks into his eyes. "Stop before anyone close to her hears you!

"You don't want to mess with her. Plus, there are so many wealthy people that those debtors can borrow from!

"Ma'am Cherry is so damn rich, why would she let them borrow money from her? We haven't even seen them talking to her! Just think!"

"Okay, okay! Calm down! Stop holding my collar!"

After being dismissed from his first day of work, Nicholas is wearing his usual outfit: a large white shirt, dark pants that are large in size, and a pair of white sneakers.

Walking along the buildings, and under the lamp posts giving light to the streets.

A breeze of air flies in his direction, and Nicholas stops walking as he hears people crying in agony.

Nicholas chases those screams; entering multiple alleyways until he sees a van before covering himself in air.

He watches the four men wearing ski masks as they throw multiple objects covered in bandages toward the back of a white van.

"Those things shape like humans," Nicholas whispered as his brows furrowed.

A new person walks into the scene, he's wearing a wolf mask, a loose robe that exposes his smooth upper body with a bit of muscle, paired with large pants, and a pair of foot sandals.

He speaks, "Close the van, and let's bring them to the master!"

The back of the van closes, and all of the masked individuals step inside the van.

The van begins to move towards the road as Nicholas remains unseen while running at such speed behind the van.

The door of the van opens, and a man peeks his masked face out of it. "I see you."

Nicholas's eyes widen, and he generates a light blue mask on his mouth that resembles the beak of a bird.

Wind gathers on Nicholas' hand, and he throws it forward. The wind hits underneath the van, and it releases a strong breeze of wind which throws the van into the air.

He jumps, and upon reaching the van in mid-air, Nicholas swings his foot towards it but a blade of a sword blocks the kick.

The wielder of the sword slaps the van, and it lands on the road on its wheels. Nicholas punches the swordsman but the swordsman catches the incoming punch.

"Fast but not enough," the swordsman said.

A pair of wings made of wind form on Nicholas' back, and he smirks behind his mask. "Well, how about this?"

He flaps the wing, and a strong surge of wind emerges. The impact sends the man crashing on the road.

Every vehicle behind them drives quickly towards the other lane but some vehicles crash into the road dividers.

The sound of honks and crashes fills the road but that didn't stop the two individuals from fighting.

A flicker of red electricity flashes right in front of Nicholas' eyes, and the swordsman appears right in front of his eyes.

Nicholas covers his hands in wind, and thrusts them but the swordsman was able to land a kick covered in red electricity right on Nicholas' abdomen.

Nicholas' eyes widen as he coughs, and he catches the next kick. He tosses the swordsman away but he flies swiftly towards the swordsman; kicking him in every direction that he sends him flying.

Nicholas gathers wind around his right hand, and he clenches it as the swordsman gets closer to him.

"You're done for!" Nicholas flew down at him.

The swordsman holds the hilt of his sword, and pulls it up, creating a bright red electricity around him, and the electricity hits Nicholas.

"I didn't perceive the attack!" Nicholas trembled as the electricity hit him.

"You won't destroy our operations," the swordsman told Nicholas, "not like what you did to Fig."

"H-How did you know him?!" Nicholas asked.

The swordsman whispers, "Maximum shock and tremble."

The swordsman increases the force of his electricity making the electricity brighter, and after the electricity disappears so as the swordsman.

Nicholas stands up but due to the damage, he can only kneel on the ground. A vehicle stops, and a young woman steps out, and she sees the face of Nicholas.

"Are you alright? You look familiar!" she said as she brushed her bangs away from her forehead.

Nicholas stays quiet. He places his hand on the ground and pushes himself back to his feet but his thighs shake.

The young woman manages to capture Nicholas before he truly falls on the ground. His eyes begin to close, and the young woman walks him to her car.

In front of a tall dark mansion, a white van enters its metallic gates. The swordsman from earlier steps out of the van.

He looks around, and the sight of the tall trees, and vans parked in line welcomes him. He raises his hand and shows his thumb only, and from the back of the van, five men wearing ski masks carry the individual covered in a bandage.

The swordsman walks inside the mansion, and he walks through the large hallway with the scent of sweet, floral with a mix of copper fills the air.

In the middle of the hallway, a couple of stairs were covered in red carpet with a metallic throne could be seen. There, a woman is sitting on the throne with her left thigh resting on top of her right thigh.

She's wearing a pair of red ruby earrings, a red dress with dark lines, and a pair of dark heels.

A malicious smirk forms on her lip. "Ah, my favorite servant, Daniel. What have you come here for?"

"To deliver these men who owe you a huge sum of money." Daniel aimed his right hand at the wriggling men covered in bandages.

"I'll have them fix and tie on the chair for me. You wouldn't mind if I eat them right in front of you, right?" The woman licked her fangs with her long pink tongue.

"I don't mind, Lady Cherry." Daniel bowed his head before stepping aside.

Later on, Daniel is standing behind the ten men tied to chairs. All of them are gulping and shaking at the sight of Cherry's red eyes with dark slit staring at each of them as if they are food on the dining table.

"I like my food cooked but I wouldn't mind eating it raw." Cherry chuckled.

She ends her chuckle but maintains her evil smile. "One by one, tell me why I should let you live?"

"I have a family!"

"I need to live and work for money for my parents!"

"I want to change my life! To cleanse myself of gambling!"

"Please! Please! I beg you! Let me live! I have my own family! Just freaking kill them instead."

Cherry claps as she laughs. "That was a good one. I like that! Being selfish and suggesting the others be killed is such 'kindness'."

Cherry disappears in a cloud of dark smoke, and she appears once again on her throne.

The same man who suggested she kill the others looks around him; all nine men have slit throats with blood dripping as their heads are looking down.

The last living man screams as he trembles in his seat. Cherry chuckles and walks down from her throne, and she looks at the nine dead men.

"Alright, I'll have their organs prepared and be cooked by my five chefs," she said.

She looks at the last living man, and he trembles at her stare. He yells incomprehensible words as he moves backward dragging the chair with him but the chair falls along with him.

He groans in agony, and Cherry pulls his rope along with his chair back on its feet.

Cherry puts her long right nail beneath the man's chin. "I like a man who fears a woman, it turns me on."

She licks her lip and smiles. "For you, I'll let you live and even see your own family."

The man's face brightens up, his lip curves upward and his eyes show happiness.

"THANK YOU! THANK YOU!"

Inside a house, a woman in her thirties and a girl are sitting beside each other on chairs facing the dining table.

A variety of foods on plates are placed on the table with forks and spoons beside the plate.

"Mama! Daddy is taking so long!" the girl whined.

The mother caresses the girl's hair. "Don't worry, sweetheart! Daddy will be home soon."

A couple of calm knocks hit the door, and both the mother and daughter stand up. They walk towards the door and open it.

"Daddy! I miss you so much!" the girl hugged her father's thigh.

The mother smiles and looks up at her husband's face. "What's this?"

She caresses the mark of a cut on the father's neck. The father's eyes narrow at them as he opens his mouth, showing his sharp teeth with saliva dripping from them.

The mother's eyes widen as her breath accelerates. She pulls her daughter away from her husband as she steps back.

"RUN BABY!" she yelled.

The father closes the door behind him, and screams fill the house. The light of the house flickers as blood paints the curtains.

"STOP THAT HURTS! MY LEG!"

"MAMA!"

"HIDE BABY!"

The screams of the moth disappear before the daughter's screams fill the air as they get louder until everything is silent.

Standing outside the house, Cherry is smirking. "The crimes of a man are passed down by blood. What do you think, Daniel?"

Daniel nods while standing beside her. "They need to die altogether."

Cherry smiles. "The father sure loves reuniting with his family. They all become 'one' physically or hungrily."
