As soon as I park the car in front of the apartment building, I switch off the engine, got out of the car and help Beth open her door. When I open the car door, she thanks me before she stumble a bit when getting out but manage to catch her balance before she fell so I didn't need to help her. She manages to walk without stumbling as I close the door and lock the car.
So, we walk slowly towards the lift and press the up button once we reach the lift. Once we were in front of my door, I quickly open the door, switching on the lights so that Beth can see where she is going and not crash into anything. She walk across the living room to her bedroom to do whatever she needs to do while I went to the kitchen to get her the medicine for headaches from the refrigerator.
Just as I pour a glass of water for her to drink with the medicine, she walks into the kitchen. She change out of her dress and into a comfortable pair of light blue pajamas and her hair is tied up in a messy bun. "Here is the meds and some water," I told her while pushing it towards her.
"Thanks," she replies as she took the meds and swallowing it down with a mouthful of water. "Ah! I needed that," she sighs. I just shook my head and said, "Are you ok now?" I questioned and she nods her head. "You said something awkward happened to you? What happened?" she asks curiously.
So, I told her everything that happen after she left the house from deciding to walk to the shop, me remembering my past and about how I had an unfortunate encounter with Timothy from High School. And how awkward I felt throughout our conversation. After I finish speaking Beth just stares at me for a second before she burst out laughing.
She is laughing so hard that she is clutching her stomach and smacking the table. I look at her annoyed that she found that awkward situation funny. It was so embarrassing that I wanted to hide so I don't have to see him again. I just waited until she stopped laughing at me before I said, "Had enough of laughing."
She just nodded her head at me and took a deep breath. Once she is calm enough to speak, she ask, "So what are you going to do about him? Are you going to call him?" I look at her like she is crazy to even ask me that. Beth laughs some more when she sees the expression on my face.
I again waited until she stop laughing and can speak. "Okay! Okay!" She exclaimes when I slap her arm to stop her from laughing when I got tired of her laughing at me. "I'm sure you're not going to see him again, and even if you were to see him just say that you are so busy with work that you forgot about contacting him," she tells me.
"That's a good idea," I said after a second of thinking. "Of course it's a good idea. It is me were talking about," she said while giving me a bow. I just shook my head at her but said my thanks for helping me with my problem even though she had a laugh at my expense.
Afterwards, she said her goodnight before she retires to her room, as she is exhausted from the night out and from laughing so hard just now. I also bid her goodnight before she left the kitchen. Once everything is clean, I switch off the lights in the kitchen, then walk to my room slowly so I don't bump into anything, as the whole house is dark without the light switch on.
I manage to get to my bedroom without bumping into anything. When I open my bedroom door I feel along the wall for the light switch and after a second I found it and switch it on. Immediately the entire room is filled with bright white light.
I walk to the toilet that is to the right of my bed and did my nightly routine, which is to shower, then put on my pajamas, then dry my hair with the hair dryer, then wash my face and then brush my teeth. After all that is done, then I walk out of the toilet and lay down on my bed to get some much-needed sleep.
The next morning, I am woken up by my phone alarm that is ringing so loudly that I think even Beth can hear it from the other room. I groan but got up from my very comfortable bed to switch off the alarm and check the time. I look at my phone and it is 10:00am and I contemplate if I should sleep a bit more, but I decided against it, as I should have breakfast and do some shopping for toiletries and grocery.
So, with that in mind I got out of the bed and went to the toilet to freshen up and brush my teeth before I change from my pajamas to a light pink blouse and black skinny jeans. Once I'm ready I went out of my bedroom with my handbag and walk to the kitchen to make breakfast for Beth and I before I leave to the shopping mall to buy some much needed things.
Once I'm in the kitchen and put my handbag on the counter, I went to the fridge to get the last remaining eggs, bacon, beans and salad before I went to the stove and made some scramble eggs with bacon, bake beans and with some side salad.
After I finish cooking, I divide the food equally and took one plate to put in the microwave so that Beth only has to heat it up and I also put a small note on the fridge about where I put her breakfast.
Once that is done, I ate my breakfast and once done I bring the plate and utensil to the sink and wash it. Then I grab my handbag and walk to the front door collecting my car, and house keys that is by the door. Making sure I lock the door before I walk to my car.
I unlock the car and open the door, then putting my handbag on the passenger seat before I turn the engine on and drive off to the shopping mall that is nearest to my house. As I reach the mall, I find it to be full and I needed to make two rounds around the parking lot before I am lucky enough to find a parking that is near to the entrance of the mall.
I turn off the engine after I park the car and then got out of the car. Locking it as I walk to the entrance. I then walk over to the supermarket and grab a trolley before deciding to look for my toiletries first. So, with that thought I pushed the trolley towards the toiletries section.
Thankfully there is not a lot of people here, so I walk around grabbing for things that I needed. I made sure I grabbed everything that I needed before making my way to the food section of the supermarket.
On my way to the food section, I passed by a few aisles that had interesting things so before I knew it by the time I arrived at the food section my cart is already half filled. I shook my head at my greed and went to search for are eggs as the eggs at home are finish. I found the eggs at the end of the first aisle, so I grab the carton that has 24 eggs and putting it gently in the trolley so that none of the eggs break.
Then I made my way to the vegetable section. However, as I walk, I see a red hair color that caught my eye so I look closer, and I could not believe my eyes. I had to blink a couple of times to make sure what I am seeing is real and not my imagination and I must have look odd to the people passing by as I am just standing there staring.
So, I whisper "Ruby". I am hoping she heard and at the same time I hope she didn't, as I am scared to meet her. She must have heard me as she lifted her head from looking at the vegetables to my shocked face.

This week was a bad week for me. First there was a problem with the company's security system that I had to personally solve, which was very exhausting for me to fix. Then there was that incident with my secretary which reminded me of my ex-wife, so the next day I made sure she knows that if she brings up about my ex-wife again, there will be consequences.
However, the damage has been done as the mention of my ex-wife's name leads to me unconsciously think about her more until I almost got into an accident. It was a few days ago when it happened.
I was driving home from work like normal when I happen to see this café that my ex-wife Ruby liked to go to, and this leads me to be lost in thought about the good memories I had with her that I didn't realize that I stray from my lane until a truck horn that I realized, and my quick reflex save me from a collision with a truck.
That jarred me awake from my memories, so I made sure to focus on driving and didn't look elsewhere just in case it happens again. It went to the point that I had to get help to forget these memories but seeing the therapist didn't helped much.
Seeing as going to the therapist didn't help, I stop going and just tried to cope with it myself. And these days I have been dreaming about the same thing. Her wanting a divorce, our arguments, and I keep waking up in cold sweat after each dream.
After waking up I had to tell myself that it was a dream, and it has already passed, but I couldn't really convince myself that it's all in the past. Because even though I would never admit it out loud, I am still in love with her after all these years and after what she did to destroyed my heart and my trust.
