Unfortunately for the serpent, Minos had no intention of letting him go so easily.
As one of the Three Judges of the Underworld, Minos held supreme authority in Hades. Yet recently, his subordinate Rhadamanthys had been complaining — more and more abnormal souls had begun pouring into the Underworld.
Even the goddess Vera had taken notice.
If this situation wasn't handled properly, it would be a great embarrassment to Hades' army.
In the next instant, Minos flashed forward, instantly catching up to the great serpent Kur!
The puppet threads he wielded were not something ordinary beings could break — unless one possessed the immense power of the Cosmo, the burning micro-universe within the body.
Thus, Minos' fist — a blow powerful enough to shatter the Ice Wall of the Underworld — slammed directly into Kur's face!
Kur's pupils contracted sharply as he flipped backward, bringing his massive battle axe down with a roar.
The sheer force he unleashed was terrifying — worthy of an ancient Heavenly Father–level god!
The serpent's colossal axe collided with the Mingyi, the Underworld armguard on Minos' arm.
In that instant, sparks and lightning exploded above the ocean!
The collision of their divine powers unleashed a shockwave so vast it split the sea apart like the hand of a creator god from myth.
Minos was blasted backward, flying for miles before regaining his balance.
The opponent before him… was fascinating.
This one was far more interesting than the shadow gods he'd fought before — his power was real, raw, and unrefined.
That kind of true power stirred Minos' warrior spirit.
Now that his interest was piqued, how could he not drag such a being to the Underworld — to make him a plaything of eternal torment?
On the other side, seeing Minos forced back, Kur let out a deafening roar.
He raised his battle axe high, his voice echoing like thunder across the sea. The air and the very ocean trembled under his divine presence.
"Hahaha! I am the Serpent! I am Kur — the Almighty Heavenly Father! The Eternal God-King!"
As he shouted, his divine power of Fear erupted once more.
"People of Midgard! All living beings! Drown in endless darkness! Let fear and despair consume your souls!"
He laughed wildly as his power swept across the planet, spreading like a plague.
At that very moment—
"Gigantic Feather Flap!"
The sea exploded with a storm surpassing even the mightiest hurricane!
The immense Cosmo energy burst from Minos' body, covering the entire fortress floating above the waves.
Wings like those of a griffin unfurled behind him — vast, majestic, and terrible to behold!
A gale stronger than any tempest roared across the skies, tearing apart the fear-bound city beneath them.
Everything the Serpent had built — his throne, his citadel, his monstrous soldiers — was annihilated in the storm.
The hurricane of death left nothing behind but ruins and silence.
Kur's fury boiled over.
"You! You dared destroy my royal city! Damn you, mortal!!"
Under the dark sky, above the raging sea, two silhouettes clashed at impossible speed.
Divine power and Cosmo collided, shaking the earth and sky alike.
Each strike split the heavens, each shockwave tore the ocean asunder.
Far away, on the sea's edge, the vampire Rebold — who had only just escaped the Sea General moments ago — stared in horror at the distant battle. His heart trembled, and he turned to flee toward an ancient city in England.
Meanwhile, within the Underworld Palace, a group of specters looked up, watching the battle projected in the air.
"Lord Minos is terrifying... his Cosmo has definitely reached the Eighth Sense!"
Not long ago, Minos had been only at the mid–Seventh Sense.
But after drinking a drop of divine blood granted by Hades' vessel, Aaron, he had broken through — reaching the Eighth Sense, and even touching the threshold of the Ninth!
The shadow gods once possessed power surpassing Odin himself.
But after Hades' divine sword severed their connection to Ragnarök, they could no longer kill Minos, who now carried the essence of divinity.
Having awakened to this power, Minos had become something beyond human — a being who stood among gods.
His aura flared, his wings spread wide, and the small universe within him burned like a star.
Kur's killing intent surged. He would annihilate this damned mortal who had ruined everything!
"Odin! Do you see this?" Kur roared. "I, Kur — the Serpent King of Asgard — have returned!!"
With a cry, he swung his divine battle axe.
Forged from unknown celestial metal, the weapon channeled the entirety of Kur's divine might.
When the axe fell, even the sky seemed to split apart, revealing for a brief moment the breath of another world beyond the void.
The earth itself groaned beneath their battle.
Even Minos dared not unleash his full strength — for in a world without divine blessings, such power could shatter reality itself.
"Enough," Minos said coldly. "It ends here."
As Kur charged for his final strike, Minos stopped abruptly, standing tall in midair. The great wings behind him flared, holding his body aloft.
"Star Threads of Puppetry…"
"From now on, you'll dance as my puppet!"
In that instant, invisible threads wrapped around Kur's colossal form, binding him completely!
The serpent struggled, but even his divine body could not break free — Minos had found a weakness even a god could not escape.
Kur's eyes widened — then he laughed darkly.
"Jie jie jie… You've fallen right into my trap!"
His long black hair writhed like Medusa's serpents, and waves of pure fear erupted from his body.
Beneath the surface of the ocean, whirlpools began to churn.
Something ancient was awakening — a power not from Kur himself, but from the depths of the sea.
"I am the Serpent… the Great Python…"
"I am Jörmungandr — the World Serpent — reborn!"
