Chapter 9 - Trouble

Lisa let her dandy-looking father leave for work again as she ate her breakfast with her uncle's family and later left the house for school with her Aunt May.
As the temperature was still cool, many young men, women, and elderly couples were strolling the streets, buying breakfast at shops or just walking around to catch the fresh morning air.
Her Aunt May kept on chattering about the latest events from her favorite daily opera, and time went by quickly. Aunt May and Lisa caught a Bus to the school, with her Aunt dropping her off at the school gates before returning home.
Just as Lisa was about to head to the class area and begin another day of fun, a boy around her age, with his hair styled weirdly, approached her as he spoke,
"Hey, pretty lady. You're looking good today. How about we have lunch together?"
Lisa stood still in puzzlement before she realized that she was, in fact, being hit on.
Despite having the body of a little girl now, Lisa's orientations still stayed the same. It felt a bit repulsive when being hit on by a guy, even if it was a little boy. She would have much preferred it had happened with the other gender instead.
Still, she knew that she had to be polite with her response. Rather, just telling him to screw off wouldn't roll anyway.
"Sorry, I am not interested in you. You are not my type. There is nothing possible between you and me. Even if we were the last two people left on earth, I still wouldn't choose you. No matter what you gift me, wealth, clothes, or others, I am just not interested. You'd better spend your energy on someone who would actually care, since I just don't. Please get out of my way."
The boy named Lucas was shocked upon hearing Lisa's lengthy response. It wasn't his first time courting a girl, but it certainly was his first time being rejected so decisively.
Lisa was one of the popular girls in the school. Smart, beautiful, and friendly. Many boys secretly liked her, yet couldn't bring themselves to confess to her.
Lucas didn't have the same troubles, though. He greatly admired his popular older Brother, who brought a new girl home every week. He aspired to become just as cool and popular as him.
Lucas hadn't yet awoken to what liking someone really meant, but knew how to pose as one. Hence, his next target of Conquest happened to be Lisa.
The girls that he had previously courted ended up becoming jealous of the new ones, while Lucas himself remained oblivious to what chaos he was brewing in his background.
He was still oblivious to the girls' true feelings.
Without letting him give a retort, Lisa sidestepped and entered the classroom. Meanwhile, Lucas tightened his fist as he resolved himself to successfully pursue his target, Lisa, with a renewed passion.
Lisa was greeted by many of her classmates, and she responded to them in kind, politely, before she found the shy-looking Consuela sitting at her seat.
A natural smile finally came upon Lisa's face as she approached Consuela and greeted her before starting to tell her all about the games that she had a great time playing yesterday.
Of course, Lisa had brought her GBA SP along with her to school. It was just secretly stored in a hidden pocket of her bag. She began to instruct Consuela to hide her 3DS in her bag and made a new hidden compartment to avoid confiscation in the future.
As Lisa got through the third lesson, she suddenly recalled the System task and slapped her forehead in frustration. Losing herself to the charms of retro gaming, she had completely forgotten to check the reward from the prior task completion.
Quickly opening the Task window, she found out that the Task reward was a 'Stamina +1' pill. She felt a bit let down, having been expecting a lot more. But upon thinking more about it, she found out that gathering a lot of these would definitely have a positive impact on her life.
'If I can gather many of them, won't I end up becoming a superhuman?! Hell yeah to that! Becoming stronger in a cultivation or sword-magic world is a never-ending pain in the butt; however, that isn't the case in the modern world. I can become a crane amidst the chickens!'
Lisa thanked the one who sent her there since the threat level was the lowest in the modern world. And with the stat boosting system aiding her, Lisa realized that she was destined to become extraordinary.
She decided to consume the pill at home later to test its effect and to avoid mishaps due to any side effects.
When the lunch break arrived, the bullies didn't return, making Consuela relax significantly. She readily shared raw mango candies with her, even sharing the tasty side dishes from her lunch box. Lisa accepted all offerings with a natural grace. In her own words, who in their right mind would reject the good stuff?
