That morning, I took a look at the job board, and saw an incredible post:
"D-rank, 1 or more adventurers, Holy skill required. Abandoned graveyard is overrun with lesser undead. Exterminate as many as possible. Reward per undead monster core."
I claimed the job and set out to the graveyard. It's not far from town; it's no wonder they don't want it to become a monster nest. Even from this distance, undead are visible moving about.
I decide stay toward the perimeter, start slow, and use this opportunity to find out what else works against undead.
After some encounters, I've learned something: zombies seem to be immune to blunt damage. While I can knock them down, displace them, and restrain them, nothing does lasting damage. Maybe a cutting or piercing weapon would be effective.
Skeletons, on the other hand, crumble under blunt damage. There's just a catch: my weapon is my body, so I'm constantly striking bone. Knocking them to the floor seems to count as a blunt strike, and puts less strain on my body.
Neither kind rely on their physical organs in any way. Undead seem to be puppets of an unseen force, which departs when its puppet is too damaged to be useful. Turn Undead seems to target this unseen force directly, hence its incredible effectiveness.
After purifying the above-ground undead, a grand mausoleum with its door wide open beckons me in.
This seems like a bad idea.
