Chapter 313 - Chapter 313 The Ministry of Magic's Shit Job

Kayson looked at the man and dog in the cage, sighing helplessly.

Lupin, who was resting his head on Sirius, sat up awkwardly, "I don't know either. We really had nowhere to go, so we thought we'd go to your office for a while, and as soon as we entered, we were trapped by this cage."

Kayson said nothing, merely pointing to the sign hanging on the door not far away.

Sirius and dogs are not allowed.

"Do you two really think this sign of mine is useless and only serves as a warning?" Kayson said, finding a lever nearby and pulling it up, and the cage trapping the two slowly rose.

"Finally... finally... free!" Sirius immediately transformed back into human form and stretched, as the space in the cage was indeed not very large, so at Lupin's insistence, he had no choice but to turn into a dog and temporarily serve as a pillow.

And Lupin was yawning, looking for a bed to sleep in...

He went to Kayson's bedroom on the second floor of the office. In a sense, he was even more of a dog than Sirius.

Well, Sirius was even faster than Lupin; when it came to being a dog, Sirius was still the champion.

Time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, Hogwarts was on holiday once again.

However, the atmosphere of this holiday was not so normal.

On the faces of every Little Wizards—oh, not every Little Wizards, but at least most of them—there was a hint of confusion.

After all, the three-way struggle within the Ministry of Magic during this period had been too chaotic.

The Daily Prophet had just reported that Lord Voldemort had returned, the Dark Lord was back in action, and You-Know-Who had risen again.

At noon, Minister Fudge of the Ministry of Magic held a press conference, stating that You-Know-Who's resurrection was baseless, and it was all a conspiracy by Barty Crouch to regain power. He also mentioned Barty Crouch's illegal act of substituting his son out of Azkaban.

In the afternoon, the conflict in the Ministry of Magic escalated from cold to hot. The Daily Prophet and several employees of the Ministry of Magic, led by Fudge, were directly investigated by Mr. Weasley. Many were unjustly detained and then directly fired.

A few of the most boisterous ones were even directly thrown into the outermost part of Azkaban by Scrimgeour and Barty Crouch to cool off for a week.

It is said that those who were released after a week were directly sent to St. Mungos, where their old schoolmate Lockhart was there to help them overcome their psychological trauma.

Thus, the three-way struggle within the Ministry of Magic lasted for nearly a month without a clear winner.

But that was only on the official level.

As for the civilian level, although Barty Crouch had personal moral failings, he still had many supporters, and this old man's charisma, it must be said, was far superior to Fudge's.

Scrimgeour, Head of the Auror Office, was tough from head to toe.

And Dumbledore and all the staff of Hogwarts were even more significant.

These three parties all stated that Lord Voldemort had resurrected, that the Dark Lord had reappeared, and the ordinary people of the magic world could not help but believe it.

For example, during this holiday, some chose to seclude themselves, such as most neutral pure-bloods and half-bloods. Others fled, with some emerging half-blood families and most Muggle-born Wizards directly escaping England.

Oh, right, the House of Malfoy was also among them.

Then there were those who wanted to confront Lord Voldemort head-on: the Weasley, the House of Black, the Longbottom, and many more smaller families and individual Wizards, who gathered around Dumbledore, ready at any moment to find Lord Voldemort's lair and rush in to slaughter all the Death Eaters.

Of course, besides these normal reactions, there were also some greedy and timid ones, such as those who clung to the empire they had painstakingly built and the money they had earned, unwilling to move. This is understandable; not everyone is so carefree.

Aside from these, the rest were those who felt excited by the news of Lord Voldemort's resurrection.

There's not much more to say about them.

Authentic pure-blood dogs, beasts among beasts.

And as Kayson stood in his office, as he did every holiday, watching the Little Wizards board the Hogwarts Express, something drastic happened in the Minister's office within the Ministry of Magic, deep beneath London.

Fudge, who had been cornered by Hogwarts, Barty Crouch, and Scrimgeour, almost to the point of collapse, finally completely abandoned his bottom line as a human.

He decided not to be human anymore.

But unfortunately, Fudge, in a sense, could also be described as someone who aims for great things but is hesitant to take risks.

His decision not to be human did not mean he abandoned the human skin he wore.

So he cleverly found a white glove, someone specifically for dirty work.

Umbridge... the pink toad!

"This is the situation now; give me an idea," Fudge said slowly, using the cigar cutter built into his Alchemy arm to cut the end of a cigar.

"If we can't solve the problem, we'll solve the people who create the problem," Umbridge said fawningly.

"How exactly will you do that?" Fudge asked.

"I need your... ashtray," Umbridge said cautiously.

Fudge waved his hand and handed the skull ashtray to Umbridge. Of course, this ashtray was an ashtray to him, but to Umbridge, it was a controller for Dementors.

And Fudge, seeing Umbridge pick up the Dementor remote control with a sinister grin, didn't think much of it. In his mind, the Dementors' purpose was, of course, to sneak into Barty Crouch's and Scrimgeour's homes while they slept and give them a cruel kiss.

Finally, Dumbledore would have no other choice but to choose him.

And he could then hold out for a better offer, with Dumbledore having to come back and beg him. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

However, he clearly overestimated Umbridge's intelligence.

Umbridge did not choose to control the Dementors to kill Scrimgeour, nor Barty Crouch. She didn't even choose to have the Dementors cause any chaos to overwhelm Dumbledore.

Instead, she chose to have the Dementors wait in Harry's bedroom at the Dursleys, so that when Harley, who had not yet shed her female form, entered the Dursleys to recharge, she would inevitably pull out her wand and attack the Dementors.

And the next moment, appearing with Sirius, would be a summons from the Ministry of Magic.
