Chapter 34 - One Sunny Day (1)

After they cried their hearts out together, the servants brought out the young master's meal. They immediately noticed that both of them had puffy eyes, but remained silent.

Everyone whispered to each other outside as it was unusual to see their young master, but seeing even the A-Rank Hunter, Han Jiwon, had cried, they chose not to talk about it anymore.

Baek Haemin finished the hearty meal, and went to sleep. Fatigue overcame him once he finally felt comfortable enough to rest. The immense pressure of meeting Baek Raehwan for the first time, the guilt he had towards Jiwon, and the heat climbing to his head made him want to rest.

The moon came up and night fell on the Baek manor. Han Jiwon pulled a light blanket up to Baek Haemin's neck, and smiled before leaving his bedroom.

"Goodnight, young master."

Click.

Han Jiwon let out a sigh as she turned to her right. A man with long, luscious black hair with glasses was standing outside the room as if he was waiting for her to come out.

"So, why are you still here?"

Han Seokmin pushed the rim of his glasses.

"What, am I not allowed to?"

"You certainly don't do that on a normal basis."

Jiwon started walking in the hallway with Han Seokmin following behind.

"I just want to see how my younger sister's wound is doing."

He walked faster, leaning in

"It's fine, now."

Jiwon waved it off, but her brother wouldn't let it go.

"No, why are you being so stubborn anyway? I have to see–huh? What? It's gone already?"

Han Seokmin's eyes widened when he saw her neck free from any wounds.

"That's why I already said, it's fine now."

"Wait, hold on–did that brat heal you? That annoying spoiled brat?"

He nudged his glasses, making sure he wasn't seeing it wrong.

Han Jiwon frowned at him, smacking his face away from her neck.

"You just won't stop calling him that, will you? You'd better cut it out already."

"What's wrong with calling a spoiled brat spoiled?"

Seokmin let out his tongue, annoying her even while knowing how much his sister liked the young master.

Her brows twitched.

"You…"

"Hmph."

Han Seokmin shrugged.

He rolled his eyes sideways, avoiding her gaze. Who could blame him? Three days ago, when he heard that Baek Raehwan got back from New York, he ran as fast as he could.

For all I know, right about now…

When he peeked through the door to Baek Haemin's bedroom, what he saw was his younger sister kneeling in front of their guildmaster.

The veins at Baek Raehwan's jaw popped out as he glared at Han Jiwon. His aura enveloped the whole area, making everyone below his rank smothered with immense pressure they couldn't fight back against.

His red pupils glowed and his knuckles cracked.

"What did you say?"

Sweat dripped down Jiwon's forehead before bowing her head down to the floor.

"H, Haemin-nim, he… I heard he lent Hunter Ryu Jinmu-ssi his support skill–Kugh!"

"You heard, you say?"

Raehwan swiftly grabbed her neck.

"Kkugh! G, guildmaster…!"

Jiwon struggled but to no avail.

The strength of an A-Rank was no match to an S-Rank Hunter. Baek Raehwan was not moving an inch, solely glaring at her while strangling her. His eyes were full of rage, and void of any other emotions.

Han Seokmin couldn't watch anymore, and barged inside the room. He held onto Baek Raehwan's hand while pleading to him.

"Guildmaster! Please, have mercy! Jiwon didn't mean to–!"

"Shut up!"

Baek Raehwan growled at him, his aura throwing Han Seokmin's body away from him.

A healer like Han Seokmin was naturally no match for Baek Raehwan, yet he still tried to plead for his sister.

He touched his stomach as he groaned.

"G, guildmaster… Please, calm down. If you kill her now, what are you going to do when the young master wakes up? He'll surely look for her!"

Baek Raehwan gritted his teeth without even looking at Han Seokmin, his gaze was only directed at Han Jiwon.

After a few moments of suffocating silence, he threw her onto the floor. He ground his teeth before speaking.

"Each and every one of you is useless. Han Jiwon, you had one job, yet you couldn't even do it properly."

"Cough, cough. I, I apologize, guildmaster…"

Jiwon felt a tingling sensation on her neck.

Han Seokmin quickly ran to his sister.

"Jiwon!"

The cracking noise of Baek Raehwan's knuckles filled the silence. He glanced at his younger brother who was practically bathing from his own sweat with his face scrunched up.

His cold gaze landed on the Han siblings.

"What have I always told you?"

He sat down to meet their eyes. His glowing red eyes made the two siblings flinch, unable to take their eyes off him.

Baek Raehwan put his hand on Han Jiwon's shoulder and gripped it, making her groan in pain.

"It doesn't matter what happens to everything and everyone else, as long as my brother is okay. Everyone at the Blue Dragon guild could drop dead at that dungeon, and I wouldn't care. Got it?"

Han Jiwon gulped before nodding her head without looking back to him. Raehwan stood up and dusted off his clothes.

"I'd prefer if something like this never happens again, but in case it does… Use the gate stone and escape with my Minmin. Surely, I don't have to demonstrate how to use it, right?"

"Y, yes, sir."

Jiwon nodded. Baek Raehwan scoffed at them before leaving the room.

Their guildmaster was usually easy-going, as long as it did not involve his little brother. At that time, both Han Seokmin and Han Jiwon knew.

Baek Raehwan was ready to kill Jiwon, right then and there. If Han Seokmin had not reminded Baek Raehwan in time, then he would have already killed her. This is the main reason why Han Seokmin hated Baek Haemin.

Or to be more precise, he hates that his sister is guarding such a person. He had already tried to convince her before to quit as his guard. After all, an A-Rank Hunter would always be welcomed in any team.

Surely, going into dungeons was so much better than being near the Baek siblings. However, Han Jiwon refused to leave Baek Haemin's side. For her, being near her young master was the most fulfilling job she could have.
