"Whis, then when are we returning to the Kaiōshin Realm?"
Gran was clearly anxious—he could barely contain himself.
After all, this was Divine Dimension + Ultra Instinct + Mysterious State.
Who knew just how terrifyingly powerful that combination could become?
"There's no need to rush," Whis said with a gentle smile.
"Why?" Gran froze.
Whis held his staff lightly.
"Because you're already a god. If the Old Supreme Kai doesn't adjust his own state first, it'll be difficult for him to unlock your potential."
Gran's heart skipped a beat.
That's right.
He was now a god—could that old man really still unlock his potential?
"You don't need to worry," Whis said, clearly seeing through Gran's thoughts.
"The Old Supreme Kai is incredibly capable. Unlocking your potential will cost him nothing except physical stamina."
Gran recalled the anime—after the Old Supreme Kai unlocked Son Gohan's potential, the old man really was completely fine.
"That's good."
Gran finally relaxed, then asked impatiently,
"So when do I go back?"
"Three years from now."
Whis estimated that the Old Supreme Kai would need three years to adjust his body to peak condition.
"Three years…"
A sharp gleam flashed through Gran's eyes.
At that moment, Beerus stepped closer.
"There are still eight years before the Substitute God of Destruction Battle," Beerus said seriously.
"Whis and I discussed it—what you lack right now is pure power."
"We plan to give you two more years to focus solely on strengthening your power," Beerus continued.
"The final year will be reserved for adjusting your state, so you can accept the potential unlocking in optimal condition."
Even Beerus hadn't expected Gran to reach the rule-level of Destruction Power a full three years ahead of schedule.
This kid really was as monstrous as ever.
"So that means… I still have one year," Gran muttered to himself.
"One year of what?" Whis asked—his hearing was exceptionally sharp.
"Lord Beerus, Whis."
Gran looked at them seriously.
"Let me plan the remaining three years myself."
"??"
Beerus and Whis exchanged glances, both seeing confusion in each other's eyes.
What exactly was this kid planning?
"I have my own plan," Gran said firmly.
"In three years, I'll definitely achieve a massive breakthrough."
He clenched his fists.
Gran didn't deny that one reason he chose to reunite with Beerus on Earth after reaching rule-level Destruction Power was for the food.
But that wasn't his only goal.
Gran lifted his head, gazing toward the Heavenly Realm.
Up there
was the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
The Hyperbolic Time Chamber was an astonishing place.
One year inside equaled a single day outside.
If he didn't make use of such a cheat-like artifact, he'd be an idiot.
As for why he hadn't gone in before
He simply hadn't had the time.
Previously, he needed Whis's martial instruction,
to climb the Dimensional Tower,
to travel the universe cultivating Destruction rules
none of that could be done inside the Time Chamber.
But now
he finally had time.
"Hm?"
Whis suddenly noticed Gran's line of sight and followed it upward.
Above them was the dining hall ceiling.
No—wrong.
Whis quickly realized Gran wasn't looking at the ceiling at all.
He was looking beyond it—toward the Heavenly Realm.
Whis chuckled.
"No wonder you said you'd have a huge improvement in three years. So you're planning to use that time chamber up there."
Back when he ascended the Heavenly Realm with everyone else, Whis had already explored the entire place.
He knew exactly what was up there.
If Gran used that chamber, he could stretch two years into seven hundred and thirty years of training.
"What?"
Beerus frowned.
"You're planning to use that time chamber?"
"Is there a problem?" Gran asked, startled.
The tone of these two felt strange
was there something wrong with the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?
Seeing through his thoughts, Whis shook his head.
"There's nothing wrong with the chamber itself. It simply twists time, allowing its flow to differ from the outside world."
Hearing this, Gran grew curious.
"Whis… can you do something like that too?"
In Whis's previous explanations, Popo had been described as a peculiar angel—
one who couldn't directly wield angelic abilities and instead relied on tools to manifest them.
The Hyperbolic Time Chamber was precisely Popo's method of manipulating time.
So Gran couldn't help but wonder—
could Whis reach that level as well?
Whis naturally understood what Gran was asking.
He was asking whether Whis could also create a chamber with such a time flow.
"This kind of chamber only distorts time," Whis said calmly.
"Compared to reversing time, that's far more difficult."
"So for angels like us," he added lightly,
"creating something like this is actually quite simple."
"Huh?!"
Gran's eyes widened.
"What, you don't believe me?" Whis said, a little annoyed.
"This brat actually doubts his own master."
"No, no!" Gran shook his head quickly.
"I just didn't expect something so miraculous to be considered trivial in the eyes of angels."
Then Gran frowned again and asked,
"If it's so easy to create, does that mean other universes use similar chambers too?"
The moment those words fell
Whis and Beerus exchanged glances and answered in unison:
"They do."
Gran's achievements in just fourteen years were thanks to his Transcendence Talent.
But not everyone was Gran.
For most beings, ten years was simply too short.
If they trained normally, Beerus suspected that those fools in other universes might not even comprehend Destruction Power within ten years—
let alone improve further.
"Then I have even more reason to go in."
A faint smile curved Gran's lips.
If others were secretly using such cheat tools and he didn't—
that would be truly foolish.
"Gran."
Beerus suddenly called his name.
Gran snapped back.
"What is it?"
"Do you know why Whis and I looked a little strange when you mentioned the time chamber earlier?"
"I don't."
Gran was puzzled as well.
Whis had already said the chamber was fine—
so why their reaction?
"Life shouldn't consist of nothing but cultivation," Beerus said solemnly.
"There's also food, sleep…"
"The lifespan of gods is terrifyingly long," he continued.
"Training by manipulating time doesn't really hold much meaning."
Gran paused for a moment.
He understood Beerus's meaning.
And he replied just as seriously:
"This Substitute God of Destruction Battle is special."
"I don't want Universe Seven to lose."
"So I'll use the time chamber—just this once."
