Chapter 3 - Chapter 3, Edelweiss

The car drove to my house, a familiar sight. From the window, I could see my mother sliding the black gate of our house open for the car. When the car stopped, I got out of the car with my backpack and walked into the house.

It was clean like usual, thanks to my mom, then I turned and walked upstairs to my bed and collapsed on it, but after threw my bag across the room. I lay on the bed in exhaustion after school, and then I contemplated my situation.

This day was already exhausting, I can't imagine doing this over and over and over again.....

After a few hours, I woke up to the sound of knocking on my bedroom door. I got up from my bed and walked to the door. As I opened it, I saw my little sister, Citra, standing in front of me.

"Mom made dinner, let's go.....",

then I responded with a bit of ease, "Sure, but I'm not going to eat as messy as you".

Citra's face twisted as she became irritated. I smiled as I went down the stairs.

Father and mother are already waiting downstairs, my father was already eating, while my mother greeted me warmly.

"Oh, you're finally here. Go take a seat."

I do as I'm told, and Citra also followed suit. As we ate, small conversations broke out between us, making the dinner table more inviting.

At least I still have a loving family waiting for me to go home from school.

As can be seen by the window that gives a glimpse outside, the front gate was open, and mother forgot to close it, but it looks inviting in a way.

Meanwhile, a place quite far from Beji, all the way in Cincere.

There is a house, tall, modern, and perfect, yet it felt a little Cold, even though it's built for modern 'comfort'.

"Damn it !, please..... what's 3x... uhh.. I-i don't know ?!" said a boy with brown hair and blue eyes, wearing round glasses.

On his desk lay mountains of books scattered, while he was scribbling and calculating in distress. But before he knew it, the clock had struck 11 pm, and a downpour of rain could be seen outside through the window.

Then a voice can be heard through the closed door, "Farrant, go to sleep ! It's still a school day". Immediately, Farrant responded, "Please, Mom, a little bit, ehh, give me more time".

Then she left but saying, "Okay, more time, but I expect you to get a hundred in school." Then Farrant's panic began to fluctuate further, as he struggled and frantically searched for the answer to his mathematics homework.

But when it was finished and the homework was laid to rest, he felt exhausted, mind blank, and his brain fried. His eyes close and open, closing his eyes longer until he passes out and sleeps on the desk.

As the mother locks the door tightly, nobody can go in or out of the house. Yet all those protections made the house look unwelcoming.
