As Hunter's laser beam finished charging, it was about to blast Grandpa Max.
Grandpa Max's expression didn't change in the slightest.
Hands in his pockets.
Calm and composed.
Perfectly embodying the saying: Even if Mount Tai collapses before him, his expression remains unchanged.
High above, Alien X showed a trace of anxiety, almost descending to intervene.
Whoosh—BANG!!
The old broken car suddenly roared forward at terrifying speed, like a charging chariot!
"Hm?!" Hunter froze and turned his head—
RUMBLE!!!
The car slammed straight into him, dragging him along the ground as it sped wildly into the distance!
The laser blast Hunter had just charged was disrupted, firing uselessly into the ground nearby.
"Phew…"
Grandpa Max smiled calmly.
"The Plumber's greatest strengths are simple."
"First—combat skill."
"Second—equipment."
He paused.
"My ultimate weapon…"
"…is this RV."
"No—this is a battle car."
He calmly pulled out a remote control.
Whoosh!
The old broken car reversed direction and smashed Hunter into the guardrail—
Again.
And again.
And again.
Each impact brutal and precise.
Hunter's body was crushed repeatedly.
"…He waited until I was careless and immobile… I underestimated Max Tennyson…"
Only now did Hunter realize—
He had made the same mistake as Vilgax.
Underestimating Grandpa Max.
BANG!!
After being rammed countless times, Hunter lay on the ground, bloodied and motionless.
"I won't kill you."
Grandpa Max put the remote away.
"Stay here. The Plumbers will handle you."
"Th-thanks… I can't move anyway…"
Hunter lowered his head.
Click.
Suddenly—
Miniature rocket thrusters split open from the soles of his feet.
BOOM!!
Flames erupted as Hunter scraped across the ground, charging straight at Grandpa Max!
"It hurts—IT HURTS!! Max Tennyson, I'll make you hurt even more!!"
"Oh no!" Grandpa Max tried to activate the car again—
Too slow.
Acceleration took time.
"The battle is over. The winner is decided."
A majestic voice descended from the sky.
Alien X landed like a falling star directly in front of Hunter.
With a single impact—
Hunter's modified body disintegrated into molecules.
Instant annihilation.
Alien X circled Grandpa Max once, divine power flowing outward.
That power washed over Grandpa Max's body.
His pain faded.
His strength returned.
"Phew…" Grandpa Max exhaled deeply.
"Ethen… I don't regret my choice."
"I understand, Grandpa. You stick to your principles. Leave the rest to me."
Alien X smiled arrogantly and vanished in a flash.
Suburban Highway
Alien X appeared again.
He saw Ben Tennyson standing tall, victorious.
Muscles bulging.
Power surging.
Kevin knelt on the ground, utterly defeated.
"Ben, you're done too. Do you need help?" Alien X asked calmly.
"Ethen?!" Kevin looked up in terror.
All thoughts vanished.
BANG!!
He punched himself in the forehead and knocked himself unconscious.
Alien X fell silent.
Ben also fell silent.
"…I thought I was strong enough to beat Kevin. But Ethen… He can 'beat' Kevin without lifting a finger." Ben sighed.
"Ben, Grandpa's done. Next—Gwen."
Alien X turned and shot toward the city center.
City Center
A terrifying Rotten Mud Beast roared.
Fangs bared.
Its body was entirely composed of rotting sludge.
High in the air—
Gwen Tennyson floated calmly, gripping her staff.
No matter how the monster roared or struggled—
It couldn't reach her.
"A grounded enemy against a flyer… Even kite tactics work."
Gwen's charms glowed.
Whoosh!
A wind blade sliced downward.
Crack!
The Rotten Mud Beast split—
Then regenerated instantly.
BANG!!
A fireball detonated against it.
The outer layer hardened and shattered.
"It worked!"
Gwen's eyes lit up—
Then the shell regenerated.
The Rotten Mud Beast grabbed building railings and began climbing rapidly toward her!
"I've fought regeneration-types before… They're afraid of water—does that apply here?!"
Gwen blasted a fire hydrant.
BOOM!!
Water sprayed everywhere.
The Rotten Mud Beast stood up unharmed.
"It's useless. My body is invincible."
"Impossible."
"Every species has a weakness!"
The Rotten Mud Beast tore off one arm and hurled it upward!
Gwen froze it midair with floating magic.
"It worked!"
The monster grinned.
Its other arm grabbed the severed limb—
Yanking itself skyward toward Gwen!
Here it comes!!
Just then—
A shooting star flashed across the sky.
Alien X.
Gwen didn't retreat.
She advanced.
"Transformation Charm…"
"I'm counting on you!!"
Brilliant light erupted.
The severed arm reshaped—
Becoming a miniature Rotten Mud Beast!
It grabbed the monster's ankle and yanked it downward.
Only slowing it.
But it was enough.
Gwen retreated instantly.
"Damn it!!"
The Rotten Mud Beast slammed into the street.
The miniature version landed beside it.
"Gwen, remember!"
"The Rotten Mud Beast's weakness is inside! High temperature detonates its core!"
The miniature Rotten Mud Beast roared.
