Elior woke up at dawn and neatly arranged his bed before stepping into the shower. Letting the shower soak him, Elior thought to himself
'I leave today huh'
Leaving the shower, Elior entered his room seeing a folded pair of clothes on his bed. The cloth was once worn by his father 'Alaric'.
A note was laid on top of it saying: "Our last parting gift to you. take care of it. - Love Family".
Smiling, Elior wore the cloth; it was expensive and made him look like a noble through and through. The family crest also seemed to fit perfectly on it.
Carrying his Baggage, Elior stepped outside to find Alaric, Seraphine and Arin outside the mansion gates. A carriage was there waiting for them with Aria already inside.
"I hope your academy days are peaceful, Elior my son" Seraphine said with a smile.
"I just want you to come back soon big bro!" Arin said with a wide grin across her face.
Elior turned to look at his father uprightly "I will be going now sir"
Alaric responded in a calm tone "I wish you all the best"
"Remember to uphold the Thorne family name and when you arrive, tell your sister that I said that I would be expecting her"
Elior nodded and entered the carriage.
As the carriage began moving, Elior turned back to look at his family before shining a big grin and waving his hands.
"Elior... are you nervous to start at the academy?" Aria asked
"I don't know about that yet"
"Acting calm when a storm is approaching, typical Elior"
"I know right"
The ride to Astralis Arcana Academy was peaceful, the wind blew peaceful on their skin and the air was cold, enough to make one fall asleep in peace.
As Aria fell asleep, Elior looked at her with warmth, he clearly understood the time they had together was peaceful but now it had come to an end
'I need her to be around the protagonist circle'
'I will put everyone in the spot light and stay the way I am meant to be: In the Shadows'
The carriage continued until they arrived at Astralis Arcana Academy
"We are here Aria" Elior said pinching her cheek
As Aria woke up, she could only stare in awe. Turning to check Elior reaction, Elior smiled, a genuine smile that Aria knew that Elior had not made in a rather long time.
The academy gates swung open with a hum that rippled through the air.
Elior froze.
As Elior stepped inside, he could feel the ground pulse faintly under his boots — alive, as if the stone itself breathed magic.
He could see old students- some rehearsing magic spells that had learned in class, others dueling and some just running since they knew they were late for a lecture.
Elior was amazed, so was Aria. The Academy seemed to bring their fantasies to life.
'Was this really my creation?' a thought that gripped at Elior's very heart.
Elior and Aria registration went accordingly as they hoped it would. The dormitory was shown as the letters flew to them and rest at the palm of their hands.
Elior Vayne-Veyren Hall
Aria Lysveil -Celestia Hall
"Elior are you sure you want to stay there"
"Of course, getting here was by my efforts. I slacked off while you worked off your butt"
"We better go our separate ways, let's meet up at the center where we will have our orientation"
"Um-Okay" Aria said smiling faintly.
As Elior and Aria went their separate ways, the smile across Elior face turned into a calculating one.
'I am glad I got into this dormitory'
'I makes me not noticed by others and also, I can carry out my activities from the shadows'
The driver set down Elior's Baggage with a nod. He returned the gesture before stepping inside.
As Elior entered, the place was surprisingly quiet. Elior guess was maybe most had left and stayed over at others or they were resting and trying not to make a fuss.
"Welcome Newbie"
Elior turned to meet Professor Eldric Thornwell, his alchemy and spell-crafts instructor and also his dorm master.
"Thank you for having me"
"Let's see, Elior Vayne, Room 405" Thornwell said looking through the papers.
Elior nodded and walked to his room. Opening his room, Elior looked at it not in disappointment but in respect
The room was small and magical: dark stone walls with glowing runes, a warm bed, a desk with books, and a window letting in soft light. A glowing orb and flickering candle hummed with magic — simple, quiet, all his own.
"It is still good and still considered one of the worst dorms"
As Elior arranged his clothes into his wardrobe. He saw a package which said "Orientation at six pm, don't be late and wear the school uniform"
Elior uniform was a dark fitted jacket with silver trim, crisp white shirt, and black trousers. A small emblem on his chest marking his dorm.
Elior smiled as he went to take a shower.
Arriving at the grand hall, the glimmering lights of the chandelier shimmered brightly, changing revealing different spectrums of the color. The punch table was already set for those ready to have a drink, the stage was already set as students walked in little by little.
As Elior and Aria arrived, they look visibly stunned because who wouldn't have been stunned.
"You look amazing in your clothes Elior"
"I could say the same about you" Elior said with a smirk.
Aria uniform was a crisp white blouse tucked neatly into a knee-length silver-trimmed skirt, topped with a fitted blazer embroidered with delicate silver patterns. A gleaming silver brooch marked her as one of the elite, and polished black shoes with white stockings completed the flawless, commanding look.
As Students entered, the door slammed shut as the lights went off.
"Please, let us welcome the headmistress of this established Academy- Headmistress Lysandra Vale"
The place went into eruption as she floated from the air into the stage ground.
'Impressive and always have to make an entrance'
Lysandra began speaking "Welcome, students, to the Astralis Arcana Academy. Here, your potential will be tested, your mind sharpened, and your spirit challenged. Arcana is not merely a tool — it is a responsibility. Strive for excellence, respect your peers, and never forget: the power you wield can create… or destroy. Choose wisely, and let your actions define you."
The speech was short but carried power, as students just stared in awe.
"I will leave the rest to this year student council president, Lyra Vayne" Lyssandra said as she vanished from everyone sights.
Lyra walked up to the stage carrying elegance and a commanding presence as she walked up to the stage.
"Welcome all new students, I am your student council president Lyra Vayne. This year will test your skill, courage, and discipline. Remember, true strength comes from your choices, your respect for others, and the effort you put forth. Strive for excellence, support one another, and let your arcana define you."
The place was silent before Lyra spoke again
"Listen closely," Lyra's voice cut through the hall. "Respect your peers. Attend every class. Keep your dorm tidy. Misuse of magic will not be tolerated. Break these rules, and the student council will find you." Her gaze swept the room, and every student straightened. "Failure to do so, will receive the full wrath of the student council office"
"Please help yourself to the punch"
The students clapped as they began helping themselves to the punch. Elior had slotted Aria into a group in order to make friends as he watched from a distance.
'This was the right choice'
Elior was not just relaxing on his own, he was searching for the main characters but that was cut short when he felt a chill down his spine.
"Forgot to meet up with me, brother"
Elior turned to meet Lyra who was visibly enraged.
Lyra had inherited most of their mother's facial qualities but their father's wisdom and strength. Elior was sure she would rule someday but now, he had to avoid getting beating up by her.
"I am sorry"
"Sorry is an excuse for those who have nothing to be proud of"
"I just did not want people to know that your brother is someone like me"
Lyra paused before ruffling his hair "Okay, so how is being here working out"
Elior paused for a second before giving a definite answer "It is good, and I am happy you made me come here".
"Good, because I will be monitoring your development closely"
"I promised not to disappoint"
Lyra smiled as she walked back leaving Elior standing alone.
As Elior went back to his room, he lay down on his bed as he stared blankly at the ceiling
"The Academy is as beautiful as I described it"
Turning to his side, Elior said a paper with all his schedules being laid out for him.
Elior groaned as he saw them but curiosity lingered in his heart.
"I wonder how the classes will be, me seeing it with my eyes"
Elior grinned at the thought as the night came to a peaceful end.
