Kael, Liora, and Selene were walking through the rugged wilderness, slowly making their way to where the goblin bodies and the cave were located. The silence of the group was numbing. The two girls followed Kael as he walked with a stone sword, pointing at the ground, dragging it along, and marking trees from time to time.
When they reached the cave, they felt extreme cold on their backs. The place looked like a chaotic war zone, although the war was over, there were only bodies. At that moment, they could see smoke coming from ahead.
Terror flooded Kael; that was the opposite direction from where they had come. So it was a human base! The boys continued their walk, heading towards where the smoke was coming from.
At one point, Kael decided to look to the right, where there was a slope. The slope did not look very natural, so he soon decided to take a closer look. The slope was perfect, and the entire ravine was connected to the ground, where there were hundreds of plants and green things.
"Goblins," he thought when he saw it. The whole place was full of them, at least 100. From time to time, women could be seen. They were naked and had too much rope on their arms and legs, immobilizing them completely. The place was full of depravity. The goblins' hideous faces contorted as they had sex with several women in the open-air camp.
Seeing this, he couldn't do anything but vomit profusely. He put his hand out and pulled the girls away. "You can't see this," he said breathlessly, trying to catch his breath after expelling most of the food he had previously consumed.
'It must be destroyed.'
Kael shook his head after thinking that. It was more than obvious that he was incapable of doing that, but the image of Adriel came to mind. 'With him, it might be possible...'
Kael sat up. "Let's go back. We need to find the things necessary for the ritual and heal Adriel," he said with confidence and resolve.
Liora trembled a little before speaking. "What will happen to... the smoke?"
The protector saw the intense smoke, but turned away. "If they are bad people, we could die. That's why we must heal Adriel."
Selene began to hiss before exploding. "Adriel this, Adriel that. He didn't come to help us when he should have! We were almost raped, and don't think we're deaf! That guy stayed crying over a dead man instead of helping the living."
"And it's because of him that it was 'almost'. The experience was indeed traumatic, but right now, he's our way of surviving. Without him, we'll be screwed in 60% of our fights."
Selene clenched her fists and closed her eyes tightly. 'I... want... to be... a... killer! She opened her eyes wide, hoping to see the status window the others had mentioned, but there was nothing. 'I guess nothing comes for free,' she thought, feeling a little depressed.
"Let's go kill, I want to get my class." The girl looked south and began walking toward him.
"No, I already told you that before we hunt and kill blindly, we're going to see what materials we need..." Kael was cut off at the end of his sentence by Selene's hand, which blocked his mouth.
"Shut up and follow me. If you want to keep me alive and healthy as much as you say, you should stay by my side." Selene did not remove her hand from Kael's body, instead pressing her mouth and began to move it without stopping, touching the boy's body until she reached his wrist and grabbed it.
The protector was pulled; he was about to break away, but he felt that might be a bad idea. 'He could die without me.' Kael began to follow Selene's lead, allowing her to guide him, with Liora behind them.
The boys began walking south until they found a clearing. The clearing had several rocks, but they were all strange; the place didn't have many trees, and most of them were bare of leaves.
A look of confusion appeared on Kael's face. Selene was looking left and right, eager to have a battle to earn her class. Liora was more relaxed, her gaze fixed on the right side, where there was nothing, well, supposedly nothing.
Somehow, a bush began to melt slowly. "Kael, Selene," I called to Liora calmly.
A slimy, blue thing appeared in front of the group. Its interior was bubbly, but its form was liquid. From a distance, it looked like a lifeless blue ball. It could be classified as the sphere they always grab, but thanks to its liquid and slimy nature, it was clear that it was a monster.
Four tentacles appeared from the body of the thing; two had the bubbling property of the main body, and the other two seemed more solid, and they did not have the presence of bubbles.
Seeing that thing, Kael took out his shield, then pointed it at the monster.
A bubble-covered tentacle shot toward Kael at impressive speed, lashing out at his arm and wrapping itself around it, ignoring his shield. The tentacle caused a persistent burning sensation on Kael's skin, which was intensified by the wound caused by the lash that made him writhe.
When she saw the enemy, Selene drew a dagger, then threw it. Upon entering the creature, it began to dissolve, and no damage was reflected. "Cover the right side of your head," Liora spoke calmly, neither knew to whom those words were directed, but both did so.
Kael's shield was hit, making a tremendous noise from the enemy's most solid tentacle. "It tenses its tentacle when attacking, but it seems it can't use them all at the same time." Liora analyzed the enemy, then moved away from the battle, feeling that she was finding her role.
Selene pulled out two more daggers and stabbed the tentacle on Kael's arm, which worked this time, causing it to retreat.
The slime tried to hit Kael's left side, but he defended himself in time thanks to another warning from Liora. The girl herself moved to the right, trying to get a better view of the creature.
As she did this, Selene moved to the left. The slime covered its arms with bubbles and attacked Selene and Liora, leaving Kael with a crucial decision to make. Before Liora was hit, Kael's shield flew towards her, while he himself threw himself towards Selene, being hit by the tentacle.
The skin on his stomach was completely reddened, his blood spurting forward as the flesh was quickly revealed by an acid stuck to the wound. Kael's shield protected Liora, who could see something strange: at the highest point of the slime was a completely hard, circular-shaped thing.
"Throw a dagger at the highest point of its body!" Liora shouted this to Selene as she ran away from the monster.
Selene was worried about Kael, but she couldn't afford to ignore the slime. With determination, she threw her dagger at the slime, but the dagger didn't hit the tip, so she decided to throw the other one she had in her possession, breaking the core.
As the slime broke, it began to fall apart, slowly turning into something viscous without the bubbles that made it dangerous.
Out of nowhere, the system appeared for the three kids. Kael was surprised that his wound hurt little or nothing, making him feel puzzled. "Congratulations. You have obtained the latent class: 'Telepath.'" "Congratulations. You have received the latent class: 'Assassin.'" "Congratulations. You have obtained the skill 'All for the Team.'"
