"What's wrong dear?"
"I…. don't understand the words written here," Aster said softly as he placed the scroll on the table.
Vivian looked at him quietly for a few seconds then flashed him a knowing smile as she gently wrapped her arms around him from behind. "I know, dear, and it's alright. But if you want, Mommy will be happy to teach you how to read and write."
"That would be great, but I still have several other things I want to learn and I doubt I'll have enough time to juggle them all together."
"Hm, so aside from reading and learning how to write, are there other things you would like to know?"
"Yes."
"Oh, you mean things like training and sparring with Sara, right? Or maybe you just can't wait to smack her butt again?"
*Sigh.*
Aster sighed softly with a smile on his face. "Why am I not surprised you already know about that?"
Vivian giggled and wrapped her arms around him a bit more. "You're not the only one with dragon eyes you know."
"Yeah, I figured as much, but training and sparring aren't the only things I wish to learn right now."
"Oh, they aren't? Then what else would my little one like to know?"
"The supernatural world in general, its history, cultures, the type of demons and supernatural beings inhabiting this realm. I would also like to know if there are other continents aside from the demon continent, and the number of demons currently living in the demon continent. All these things and a lot more are what I'm interested in knowing at the moment."
Vivian smiled and pondered over what he said.
Since Aster was someone who had believed that supernatural beings were only a myth or part of folktales, it was normal for him to feel eager to learn more about the supernatural world, especially since he now knew that everything he had ever heard or read about was real.
Hearing this, Vivian hummed a bit as she tried to see if anything could be done to teach Aster everything she knew. "Alright, dear, how about we do this?"
"What?"
"When we wake up first thing tomorrow morning, Mommy is going to teach you everything you want to know about this world, but we'll take it one step at a time. There's no point in rushing everything into your brilliant little mind, okay?"
"Okay, but why can't we start today? There's still time for me to learn about this continent and the common knowledge about this world right?"
"Yes, there is, but we can't do that right now because we'll be having guests shortly and I want you and your sister to be ready before they arrive."
"Who are....?" Aster was about to ask who the guests were, but just before he could ask this, a knock was suddenly heard from the door.
*Knock knock*
"Come in," Vivian ordered and Hallie stepped into the room.
"Your Majesty, your guests have arrived."
"Thank you, Hallie." Vivian thanked her before turning her attention toward Aster. "Alright dear, let's go." Vivian stood up, lifting Aster up from her lap and putting him down, then she held his hand as the two of them stepped out of the room with Hallie trailing behind them.
Aster looked up at Vivian as he asked with a puzzled look on his face. "Where are we going?"
"To see someone very important. You and your sister will be living in Evermore from now on. So it would be best for the two of you to have tailor-made clothes that are suitable for your roles as royalty." Vivian explained, but Hallie suddenly called out to her.
"Your Majesty?"
"Yes, Hallie?
"The Circle of Elders would like to have a meeting with you today? Would you like me to schedule them…"
"That won't be necessary, Hallie, because I won't be attending the meeting."
Since Vivian's royal carriage had arrived last night and a ton of demons had spotted the carriage, Vivian had expected the circle of elders to be informed of her arrival, so she wasn't really surprised that the elders requested a meeting with her.
However, she wasn't in the mood to have a meeting with a bunch of annoying old demons, hence her swift rejection of their offer to meet with her.
"But, Your Majesty, if you do not attend this meeting, won't your children think that their mother is neglecting her role as queen? They'll probably think their mother is a lazy queen who likes to sleep and play in her room all day and you don't want that now, do you?" Hallie muttered loud enough for the dragon queen to hear, and Vivian stopped in her tracks before turning around to face Hallie, who simply smiled innocently and drifted her gaze to the ceiling.
She then began to whistle softly as she tried to avoid making eye contact with Vivian.
Meanwhile, Vivian squinted her eyes as she glared at Hallie, but she was determined to remain firm on her earlier decision. "No matter what you say, Hallie, I'm not changing my mind. Besides, my children love me too much to think less of me."
Hallie smiled and rolled her eyes to the side before giving in. "Yeah, yeah. If you say so, Your Majesty. I'll let them know you're too busy to attend their meeting today."
Hearing this, Vivian smiled and tightened her grip on the little dragon prince as they continued strolling down the corridor.
On the other hand, Aster wondered why Vivian wasn't interested in attending the meeting. He could guess that it might be boring to attend such meetings, but he couldn't help but think that there was a deeper reason as to why she didn't want to attend the meeting, and so he decided to ask her.
"Is there a reason why you don't wish to attend the meeting?" Aster asked and Hallie happily replied to him before Vivian could even open her mouth to speak.
"It's because Her Majesty doesn't want the elders to trouble her once again about getting married and having an heir."
"Huh?"
