"Huh? A couple of elders are bothering her because they want her to get married. But why would they do that?"
Noticing the puzzled look on Aster's face which was fairly understandable, Hallie smiled before explaining further.
"Well, the answer to that question is very simple. Her Majesty is a single, unmarried queen, who currently has one of the strongest legions in the demon continent. Moreover, she helped stop the Second Great War, and as such, her achievements attracted many potential male suitors who were eager to get married to her."
Aster furrowed his brows as he listened to what Hallie was saying. "It sounds like these male suitors were only interested in what mother has."
"You're right, dear. Each one of them was clearly going after the lands within my territory, as well as my army, and that's why Mommy turned every single one of them down." Vivian chimed in on the conversation, and Aster couldn't help but ponder over a few things.
"I understand the motives of the male suitors who were eager to marry you, but why were the elders in support of this?"
"That's because the elders were simply worried about their queen and the future of her throne. So they urged her to get married as quickly as possible." Hallie replied but Aster became even more confused by what she said.
"What do you mean?"
"Her Majesty was clearly not getting any younger and centuries kept passing by, so they wanted her to produce an heir since she was already over t-."
"Ahem." Vivian cleared her throat loudly causing Hallie to shriek cutely, especially when she sensed the minuscule amount of murderous aura that seeped out of her queen.
Hallie had almost revealed Vivian's age and it seemed that the dragon queen didn't want her to do that, so Hallie swiftly sealed her lips shut.
Vivian was pleased to see this, so she redirected her attention to Aster.
Although Hallie had been unable to complete her words, Aster could easily guess what she had been about to say.
The dragon queen wasn't growing any younger, and she didn't have a successor either.
So, to continue her lineage and bloodline, an heir had to be born.
However, since she hadn't been interested in any of the suitors, she had turned down every single one of them.
"So, what are you going to do now?" Aster asked.
"It's simple dear. Mommy won't be going to the meeting."
"But what about the elders? They're going to keep requesting a meeting, aren't they?"
"Yes, dear, they are. But eventually, they'll get tired of doing so and everyone will carry on with their lives."
"You sound like you're used to rejecting their meetings."
"Ufufufu. In a way, yes, I am." Vivian giggled but Hallie called out to her.
"Your Majesty."
"Yes, Hallie."
"What if we let the elders know of your children. Since they want you to have an heir, I think knowing that you have two now would make the elders finally put this topic to rest. Also, they probably won't try to force you to get married anymore." Hallie explained and Vivian remained silent as she thought over Hallie's suggestion.
Noticing how quiet Vivian had suddenly become, Aster muttered loud enough for her to hear. "It seems that you don't want the elders to know about us."
Aster could understand her reluctance to allow others to know about him and Lily.
First of all, they were clearly still weak, so it made sense that Vivian preferred to keep her children safe until they had grown a bit stronger, before deciding to let the world know about them.
Also, since they were currently in the demon continent, it wouldn't be surprising for Vivian to have more than one enemy who saw Aster and Lily as a weakness that they could use to their advantage.
However, these were not what Vivian was thinking about.
In fact, she wasn't worried about any of the things on Aster's mind because, right now, she was, without a doubt, one of the strongest demons on the continent, so why would any demon be stupid enough to piss her off by trying to harm her children?
No demon would dare to do something as stupid as that.
Not even the other highborn demon lords would be dumb enough to incur the dragon Queen's wrath, and so Vivian brought her gaze down to her little dragon prince before smiling and patting his head gently. "I don't mind the elders knowing about you or your sister."
"So, does that mean you'll be heading over to the meeting to let them know about us?"
"Oh no, Mommy won't be doing something as boring as that."
"Huh? You're not going to do that?" Aster asked with a curious look on his face and Vivian couldn't help but smile when she noticed the cute expression on his face.
"Of course not. Why would Mommy attend a boring meeting with a bunch of lazy demons when I can simply spend time with my beautiful children instead?"
"Then how are you going to inform the elders about us?"
Vivian smiled as an idea popped into her head. "Turn around, dear." Vivian requested and Aster simply stared at her, with a puzzled look on his face.
He wondered why the dragon queen was suddenly asking him to turn around, but he didn't question her.
Instead, he slowly turned around to see a huge glass window in front of him.
Then, Vivian placed her hands on his shoulders, and her fingers began to glow softly.
Aster could feel the warmth in her hands flowing into his body, but just before he could think about what the queen was doing to him, he suddenly felt like he was being pulled away from the castle, and into the city underneath the floating island.
Aster could now see the city clearly through the eyes of his mother.
In fact, it felt like Vivian had temporarily connected her wide view range with that of his, allowing Aster to see even further than he ever could.
Now, Aster could see the demon folks engaging in different activities, with every one of them preoccupied with their respective tasks.
It truly felt amazing to watch the demons go about the city all the way from the castle, as though he was watching a movie.
Aster could also see a couple of Vivian's jack-o'-lantern knights patrolling the streets.
Some were equipped with swords, others with spears, and a few were simply walking with a magic staff in hand.
But surprisingly, the knights suddenly stopped walking, and then they tried to gather the attention of the demons passing by.
Once this was done, they began to reveal what Vivian had mentally instructed them to do.
"Gather around! Demons of the Kingdom of House Gremory, and prepare yourselves!" They announced and more demons came closer to listen to what each knight had to say.
The knights continued. "After two long decades of silence, Her Majesty, The Dragon Queen, has finally returned to her floating citadel! But this time, she does not return alone.
By Her Majesty's decree, let it be known that our beloved queen has returned to the Dragon Throne with her two children and future heirs."
After the announcement, the kingdom's capital city suddenly fell silent as the knights' words slowly sank in.
