Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4: Secret Room

10:11 AM

As Viena entered through the door expecting a secret entrance to the halls, she was instead greeted with a sudden shift of a breeze. She winced back at it, then stared up at the ceiling, there was one of those new A.C machines that all the people that worked at the orphanage were talking about. The 3x 2000, Viena fully turned her head up to directly face the A.C. she paused, then looked down what was this place? she asked herself. Viena looked all about the place, it was well decorated with cute led lights, soft pink carpet, the comfiest looking bed (even more better looking than even her bed). She giggled; this would be the perfect comfy place to hang out and escape her orphanage life. She was taking everything in before realizing that there was also a huge 100cm T.V. she gasped at the amazing sight. Was this how all people lived, is this what they have? Viena asked herself. She was so distracted with everything that she completely forgot one very important detail. If this place was so well decorated that meant that someone else was going here, and they will most likely come back very soon, (since break hour was coming up). Viena spined around the room looking for any other details that she might have missed, there were other essential things like a computer, pink lamp (looks like this person likes pink a lot). She paused and looked back at the computer, all she needed was to open it up and see what the name was. Whose room did this belong to? Viena slowly opens it up and was shocked to find that the name read Anka. She took a few steps back, do the popular kids get special treatment or something. It is an orphanage they're not supposed to have any parents, no people to bribe them, so why would she get special treatment like this? Viena didn't have much time to think about it though when a problem crossed her mind. How would she make sure Anka and no one else came back here or even knew about its existence? She looked around than found a phone carelessly thrown onto the bed, "it's an iPhone 17", she said mesmerized. She had heard all the adults in the orphanage talking about how they always wanted one, and Anka had it. What was going on here? Viena decided that she needed to further investigate why she was getting this special treatment and how could she make this room hers. She slowly stepped out of the room, cold reality hitting her expect it was warm, far beyond warm. She slipped from the corner quickly as if to shape the feeling that it was just an empty wall. No one noticed her coming from the corner, as much as she would usually be a little upset with that. This time she didn't care, in fact that was exactly what she hoped would happen. Viena quickly checked her timer to see if it was almost complete, " 8 minutes left", Viena groaned. She stared back at Anka, and she couldn't help but wonder who she really was. Did the adults at the orphanage like her so much that they gave her special treatment? Viena paused, no that wouldn't make sense it would have to be the counselor that had to like her to give her all of that very expensive stuff. Since the counselor was the head of everyone he got the most money, so he would be most likely the one behind this. Viena groaned to herself, unless he liked Anka so he influenced everyone to also pay for her as well as him. Viena chuckled, it was too detailed to be true, and..... it was a little bit too over dramatic. She gave her self one last chuckle before she checked the time, how aggravating she thought, the timer was at 1:58. One thing Viena hated very much was waiting. Why make people wait if there is a way to not make them wait, Viena looked around as if there were mind readers around, she than thought about how she heard on an adult's phone that they were coming up with new technology. Viena paused trying to re-call what else she heard on the phone, she then made a slight head nod. "Of course!" she thought, they were coming up for new advanced technology specifically for completing work that takes a long time. Viena grimaced, imagine if Anka ends up getting something like that in her room? Viena asked herself amused. She slightly turned her head forgetting why she was even there, but then with a 'beep 'beep' she remembered she was doing the laundry. Viena smiled, before taking out all the clothes and putting them in a basket that clearly read, cleaned only. She sped walk out the door, and just as soon as she shut the door close, she got up and started to jump while laughing. It was really her first time finishing this stupid job this early. She was free! Viena thought. Now what would she do, she could either hang out with Vecer or work on the Anka situation. She decided she would go Vecer. After all he was her only best friend in the orphanage, Vienna paused to think back to when they were in the auditorium. Vecer seemed like he was a bit worried, like something was weighing down on him.

Back at the post office Vecer was given the most amount of work apart from Jory and Stacy, they had told him that he was the man, and he was meant to be the one to work. "I swear to god I'm going to teach them a lesson", Vecer thought. He had a large stack of envelopes each that he needed to organize in alphabetical order, based on what the letter was about, and the person they were sending the letter to. Vecer sighed, In the orphanage things were usually split equally since they were all either abandoned by their parents willingly or forcibly. At least that's what the orphanage had taught them; they would always sing to a catchy song when they were younger. It was as if they wanted to make their customized machines, put whatever information they wanted in there. It didn't matter, because the machines were theirs. Meanwhile in the hallways Viena was deciding whether or not to visit Vecer, after all Jory and Stacy were the gossip girls and they had already spread a rumor about her. Viena shivered at the thought of that rumor, they had both shipped her and Troy together. He was one of the most popular kids in the orphanage, and he was also Wan's best friend. Although Viena liked Wan, she hated Troy. He was always that self-absorbed brat in her eye, Viena chuckled thinking that in his eyes she would be the weird one. She stopped in the middle of the hallway and looked back at her room. She shared a room with Lana, "Lana. B" she would always say, "because my last name is Bantoven". As well as drake and Adam, they hung low together, they were like the duo of the orphanage no one thought they wanted. But they always have a way of spicing everything up, Viena turned her direction back to her room and started making her way there.
