Serena's father stepped back into the room with a disturbed expression on his face. He had the same calm demeanor but I'd known him long enough to know that whatever phone call he had, made his mood change.
He looked from me to Serena before he spoke.
"We have a situation," he said.
"What happened?"
He let out a slow breath.
"We received intel that someone is planning to intercept the reception. They've been trailing some of the guests. My men are watching them closely but it's clear they intend to cause a disturbance."
Serena's face became worried.
"But why? I thought they were already taken care of?"
"They will be," he said. "The wedding brought attention already with the media attention. You two together brought even more attention. But I'm not completely worried though, you two are already married now and that's all that matters."
I straightened in my chair.
"You don't have to worry about the reception though."
Her father raised an eyebrow. "Meaning?"
