With the bridge's construction finally complete, Tazuna proposed the idea.
"Great idea!"
Everyone quickly chimed in, showing their support.
"Alright then, Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and Haku. The mission's complete. Time for us to head back," Kakashi said as he pulled out his Make-Out Paradise novel and started reading while walking.
"Mhm. Haku, time to go. Uh, Sakura..."
Without a hint of shame, Naruto reached out and grabbed Sakura's delicate hand.
"Uh…"
As Naruto looked down at the soft, slender hand now in his, he was momentarily stunned. That was way too easy… Did I just succeed?!
"Stupid Naruto, have you held on long enough yet?"
Sakura's face turned slightly red as she scolded him. "Let go if you're done. Go hold Haku's hand instead!"
As soon as she mentioned Haku, Sakura yanked her hand away in a small huff and stomped off ahead, pouting.
"Geez… So moody. Haku's still way better."
Naruto sighed internally, imagining Sakura getting all flustered. Then he turned and took Haku's hand in his.
"Mmm… Clear skies, peaceful breeze… not a cloud in sight."
Naruto sat on the rooftop of his home with Haku in his arms, taking a deep breath and soaking in the serenity.
"Hey, kid. Enjoying yourself, huh?"
A teasing voice rang out nearby. "No wonder you're so good at writing all those romantic scenes."
"Geez, Pervy Sage! Can you not sneak up on people like that?"
Naruto sat up, exasperated, and stared at the grinning Jiraiya in front of him.
"Are you done relaxing, kid? If so, it's time for some serious training!"
Jiraiya waved him over.
"Alright, alright. Haku, this is my Sensei. You can just call him 'Pervy Sage.' I'm off to train, so behave while I'm gone, okay? If you get bored, maybe go hang out with Sakura or something."
Naruto looked at Haku as he spoke gently.
"Don't listen to him, little lady. My name's Jiraiya," he said, shooting Naruto a glare before turning to Haku with a kind smile.
Still, Naruto calling him Sensei filled Jiraiya with satisfaction.
"Hello, Uncle Jiraiya," Haku said sweetly.
"...Uh."
Jiraiya froze, his smile stiffening.
"Pfft! Hahaha!"
Naruto couldn't hold in his laughter.
"What's so funny, Naruto?"
Haku tugged on his sleeve, worried she might have said something wrong.
"It's nothing, really. You didn't do anything wrong."
Naruto patted her head to reassure her.
"Alright, kid, let's move!"
Jiraiya, still sulking, urged him on.
"Coming. Haku, I'll be back later, okay?"
"Mhm."
Haku nodded sweetly.
…
"Watch closely. The jutsu I'm about to teach you is an A-rank, high-level technique."
Jiraiya raised his hand and opened his palm.
"Rasengan!"
Whoosh… Vrrrm…
Chakra rapidly gathered in his hand, forming a spinning blue sphere, a concentrated ball of energy that looked like a mini cyclone.
"Now see what this baby can do. Hah!"
Jiraiya let out a shout as he slammed the Rasengan into a nearby tree.
Shrrrk!
The technique tore through the bark in an instant, digging deep into the trunk before dispersing.
"Whoo!"
He stepped aside to let Naruto see the damage.
"Wow… that's a lot of power."
Naruto nodded in awe. Seeing it with his own eyes, he realized how destructive it really was. If Jiraiya hadn't canceled the jutsu in time, that tree would've been blown apart.
"Alright. Learning this jutsu has three stages: release, power, and control."
Jiraiya held up three fingers, then pulled a water balloon from his pouch.
"For now, try breaking this water balloon using only your chakra."
"Got it!"
Naruto took the balloon, placed it on his palm, and channeled chakra into it.
Pop!
The balloon burst instantly, splashing water everywhere.
"Naruto… I didn't expect you to finish the first stage so easily," Jiraiya said, visibly surprised
"Minato… did Naruto inherit your genius genes too?"
That evening, a loud yell shattered the calm of the forest.
"Naruto, are you a monster or something?!"
Jiraiya looked at him in disbelief. "You learned the entire Rasengan in just one afternoon?!"
"Hah! Rasengan!"
Whirrr!
Naruto formed the Rasengan and held it up proudly in front of Jiraiya. "You're not dreaming, Pervy Sage, I'm living proof."
"...Naruto, I seriously need to start seeing you in a new light."
Jiraiya sighed. "Alright, that's enough training for today."
"Mhm."
Naruto dispersed the Rasengan and stretched. "Now let's celebrate! Treat me to some Ichiraku Ramen, Pervy Sage!"
"...Mhm."
Jiraiya nodded automatically, then realized what he'd just agreed to. "Wait, I'm treating?"
"Don't be stingy. It's not like I'm going to bankrupt you!"
Naruto started walking toward Ichiraku Ramen without looking back.
"Tch…"
Jiraiya clutched his nearly empty wallet, wincing.
…
"Whew, I'm stuffed! But I still want more!"
Naruto patted his belly but still looked hungry. "Time to eat with Haku, and maybe flirt a little, heh heh..."
"Haku, you home?"
He knocked on the door and called out. With Haku around now, he didn't need to sneak in through windows anymore.

The door opened slowly, revealing Haku's sweet face, her joy barely hidden.
"Naruto, you're back?" she said, eyes sparkling.
"Mhm. Come with me, Haku."
Naruto grabbed her hand and led her out.
"What is it?"
Haku let him pull her along, glancing sideways at the smile playing on his lips.
"Silly girl, weren't you going to skip dinner?"
Naruto ruffled her hair affectionately. "Let's go have my favorite, Ichiraku Ramen."
"Mhm!"
Haku responded with a cheerful nod.
Under the moonlight, their shadows merged as one.
