"Hey, Hinata!"
Bored and wandering down the street, Naruto spotted a familiar silhouette up ahead. The moment he saw the delicate figure, he instinctively called out.
"Ah…"
Startled, Hinata turned around, her pretty face instantly flushing bright red. "G-Good morning… Naruto-kun."
"Morning!"
Naruto jogged up beside her, hands resting casually behind his head. "You headed to the meeting point too?"
"Y-Yes, I am…"
Hinata offered a shy, awkward smile.
"Had breakfast yet?"
Naruto asked offhandedly.
"I was just about to…"
Hinata gave a soft hum in reply, her cheeks still burning.
"Perfect! I haven't eaten either. Wanna go together?"
Naruto threw out the suggestion naturally.
"Ah… okay… Naruto-kun…"
Hinata stammered as she agreed, the blush now creeping up to her ears.
"Great, let's go."
Naruto casually grabbed her hand and led the way. "How about some Ichiraku Ramen? Noodles in the morning are good for your health. Hey, Hinata, Hinata!"
"Huh?"
Hinata, still dazed, snapped back to attention at Naruto's voice.
"I said, ramen, want to go?"
Naruto repeated with a puzzled look. When did Hinata get so easily distracted?
"O-Okay…"
Hinata felt like her heart was about to leap out of her chest. Her breathing was uneven, and her palm had started sweating.
The moment Naruto took her hand, her brain had gone completely blank, like an explosion went off in her head. She had nearly fainted on the spot.
Even now, she was still floating in a dream. If Naruto decided to sell her off right now, she probably wouldn't even notice.
"Yo, old man! Ayame-neesan! I'm back!"
As they approached the ramen shop, Naruto called out cheerfully.
"Oh, hey Naruto."
The shop owner stepped out from the back.
"Two bowls of ramen, one large, one extra-large!"
Naruto shouted his order.
"Got it, coming right up."
The owner nodded, glancing at Hinata and muttering to himself, This kid, already with another girlfriend? These young people nowadays… though this girl's kind of,
"Hinata, make sure to eat plenty, okay?"
Naruto smiled at her as they sat down. "And relax a little, will you? What's there to be nervous about?"
"O-Okay…"
Hinata barely managed to whisper a response.
Such a shy girl, Naruto chuckled inwardly.
"Ramen's here! And as usual, you get your 20% discount today."
A soft, melodious voice called out, light and refreshing like a breeze.
"Oh, Ayame-neesan! Thanks for the hard work!"
Naruto grinned at the graceful woman walking over.
"What are you thanking me for? Say, Naruto-kun, is this your girlfriend?"
Ayame set the two bowls, one large, one extra-large, in front of Hinata and Naruto. Then, with a playful smile, she sat beside Naruto.
"Hehe, well… not quite… yet…"
Naruto scratched his head sheepishly, the implication clear.
Not now… but maybe one day.
"You've got a modest side too, huh?" Ayame chuckled, looping one soft, fair arm around his shoulder. "Isn't that right, little sister?"
"Ah… I… uh…"
Still recovering from Naruto's casual intimacy, Hinata's heart skipped a beat. Her face turned crimson, unable to form a full sentence.
"Uhh… Ayame-neesan, maybe drop the teasing? Hinata's pretty shy…"
Seeing Hinata's head hanging low, Naruto scratched his cheek awkwardly.
"Well well, look at you being all protective now!"
Ayame leaned in closer, her breath warm on Naruto's ear as she whispered, "And this one's different from the girl you brought the other day, right? Didn't know you were such a player, little rascal."
"I, Ayame-neesan, I…"
Naruto quickly averted his eyes from her charming yet mischievous smile.
"Hehe, getting flustered?"
Ayame gently pinched his cheek. "Alright, I'll leave you two lovebirds to it. Have fun!"
Just before leaving, she leaned in again and gave Naruto's ear a playful nibble, making him jolt.
"I… I…"
Naruto could only watch helplessly as Ayame sauntered off.
She was the only one who ever managed to get the upper hand with him.
After all, most of the girls around him were still innocent and inexperienced. Ayame, being a bold and confident woman, was something else entirely.
If Naruto already struggled this much with just Ayame, how would he ever deal with other mature women in the future?
Let's face it, Naruto was still a rookie when it came to romance.
"Hinata, come on, eat up! Why aren't you eating?"
Still a bit shaken from Ayame's antics, Naruto focused his energy on devouring his noodles to vent some frustration.
But when he finished his entire extra-large bowl and glanced at Hinata, her bowl was still almost untouched.
"Ah, "
Startled by his question, Hinata dropped her chopsticks with a clatter.
"Hinata, are you okay? You seem really out of it."
Naruto looked at her with concern.
"N-No, I'm fine…"
Hinata waved her hands frantically, avoiding his gaze.
"Here, use mine."
Naruto handed her his chopsticks with a smile.
"Th-Thank you…"
Hinata took them with trembling hands and finally began eating, though slowly and distractedly.
"Ayame-neesan! One more bowl!"
Naruto shouted toward the kitchen.
"Alright, coming right up."
Ayame's sweet voice replied.
Moments later, she returned with another steaming bowl of extra-large ramen.
"Uh… Ayame-neesan, could I get another pair of chopsticks too? Hinata dropped hers earlier, so now we're short."
Naruto looked at the bowl and sighed. What, am I supposed to eat this with my hands?
"Nope!" Ayame laughed. "Figure it out yourself, little brother."
She blew a teasing breath on Naruto's face before sauntering off again, giggling all the way.
"Ugh…"
Naruto sighed and turned to Hinata. "Um… mind if I borrow your chopsticks real quick?"
"O-Okay…"
Hinata handed them over, still damp from the broth.
"Careful! You're dripping soup all over!"
Naruto took the chopsticks and popped them into his mouth, sucking the broth off. "Mmm! Not bad! Pretty tasty. Hey Ayame-neesan, your ramen's getting better and better!"
"Maybe it tastes good 'cause your little girlfriend used those chopsticks first!"
Ayame's voice rang out, full of laughter.
"Hmm… now that you mention it…"
Naruto nodded solemnly in agreement.
Bonk!
Hinata, her face buried lower and lower, finally smacked her forehead on the counter.
"Hinata! You okay? Geez, you've got to be more careful. Here, let me see."
Naruto gently pulled her close and reached out to rub the spot on her forehead that was turning red.
Boom!
Hinata's mind went blank once again, and this time, she completely blacked out.
"Uh…"
Naruto froze, hand still on her forehead.
"Pfft, your new girlfriend is adorable," Ayame laughed without a care.
Naruto could only smile awkwardly.
Mature women… are terrifying…
He glanced warily at Ayame, Even if their figures are amazing…
