Chapter 16 - Nanook Vs. O5-13 (This Ain't Gonna End Well For Someone...)

Everyone turned their heads towards Stelle, who was crouching in pain. Screaming from the top of her lungs, she began glowing bright, so bright that Tony thought she was turning into a star or something. "Hey, um, last time I checked, we humans don't turn into supernovas..."

"Nah, trust me bro, your universe is fucked up as well..."

For the first time in his life, Tony realised why people wanted to sock him whenever he talked to others. Damn, that stings...

"Makiri, if I were you, I'd put more focus on the little girl who's about to explode..."

Dr. Killinger, with his usual stoic voice, warned the young Overseer of the issue that was currently ongoing. As the detector in his waist began beeping rapidly, Shinji deigned to look at the readings, only to have his eyes shrink at the sight:

He finally knew where the sinking feeling came from

"SHIT! EVERYONE, TAKE COVER!!!"

But it was too late...

A blinding beam of light emerged from the skies, wherein they saw a giant man, missing in some parts, look down coldly at them. Golden blood fell from his chest, before swirling back up. is cold, golden eyes gazed at the suffering Stelle, from where a white orb emerged...

"Shit, if the Stellaron escapes, the ensuing blast would utterly destroy the system and the surrounding nearby systems into oblivion! We must diffuse it before it-"

Suddenly, a warm hand clasped the panicking Himeko. Staring up, she realised that it was Welt, who somehow still had that serene gaze. "No need to panic, he's here..."

As Hiemko remained baffled, she soon turned awestruck at the following scene:

Shinji, gaze as serene as always, stepped forth. With a single pat, he pushed back the emerging Steallaron back into the heart of the struggling Nameless, her expression turning serene. Then, with stern eyes, his voice boomed across the station...

"Begone, foul servant of Chaos, you have no dominion here. Dark wizard, you will not have the child this day. Begone!"

And before their very eyes, all swore they saw the most frightening thing in their life (to one, his lives):

A dark shadow stood out in the Cosmos, His body encompassing several galaxies. Though his body remained humanoid in figure, the multitude of arms protruding from his back made him seem more alien than the aliens in the system...

One arm made of metal, gears encompassing every aspect of his limb...

One covered in eyes from head to toe, each blinking respectively...

One made of a myriad of tentacles, twisting, slobbering...

One just like the hoof of a goat, one a paw, blasphemous in their design...

One shaped like the eldritch horrors of yesteryears...

ALL BEHIND A TORSO CLAD IN NOTHING EXCEPT HIS BARE BONES AND A WHITE COAT

The Astral crew felt themselves slowly sinking into oblivion, their minds drifting into the terrifying depths of the black sea...

Ah, it's so warm, so comfortable, so peaceful...

"WAKE UP!"

At the sudden cry, Himeko woke up. Only then did she realise how far down the road she had fallen. W-what was t-that...

Sweat pouring down her fair brows, she looked at the Aeon of Destruction, and what she saw shook her soul to the very core:

There, above the dark sky of the Cosmos, golden blood flowed freely, as the Aeon of Destruction fled back, scars of many kinds criss-crossed across his body, marring them from Their beauty
