Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Arata: You Have to Pay Extra

After saying goodbye to Rangiku, Arata returned to the Shin'ō Academy.

After more than an hour of busy work, the Kendo Club venue was neatly filled with various supplies and equipment, and the environment was also cleaned.

"Everything is ready."

Arata nodded with satisfaction. Everything was ready, and class would begin tomorrow.

Time quickly arrived at the next day, and the classmates who had previously signed up with Shūhei came to the Kendo Club one after another, including Kanisawa and Aoga.

"Everyone, please come over here."

Arata brought dozens of classmates to the sword rack and asked them to choose a suitable wooden sword for training.

Among the crowd, he noticed a young man with red hair. He was the first to choose his wooden sword, and then curiously observed the surroundings.

Arata nodded secretly. As expected, you're here, Abarai Renji. I hope you'll bring me enough destiny points.

Soon everyone was ready and excitedly waiting for Arata to start the kendo class.

Arata didn't waste time and got straight to the point. "My fellow students, I'm sure you all heard about our Kendo Club from Hisagi Shūhei when you signed up to join."

"I won't go into too many details here. Just know that I will do my best to guide you on the path of the sword during this period."

"Our goal is to help you achieve better results in the final assessment in four months. I hope everyone will actively learn and interact with one another."

Arata gave them a bit of rare encouragement, only to help them strengthen faster on the path of the sword and better trigger the judgment of his system [Change Destiny].

"A sword is an extension of the fist. Holding a sword is like clenching a fist…"

Kira Izuru, the top student in the class, signaled, and with the trio led by Shūhei, the rest of the members were very serious.

Furthermore, Arata's own level of kendo far surpassed that of the instructors at the Shin'ō Academy, so the entire teaching process throughout the morning went very smoothly.

Even though what he taught was completely different from what was written in the Shin'ō Academy textbooks, everyone listened with great interest.

Even Shūhei and the others felt that their understanding of kendo had deepened significantly and couldn't help but wonder just how much the "teacher behind" Arata had taught him.

Even the teachers at Shin'ō Academy were far behind him.

"All right, that's all for today's kendo class. Here are the notes I wrote in advance. Take them home and study them carefully."

"Tomorrow's kendo class will also be at this time. If anyone needs to take leave, please contact Hisagi Shūhei in advance."

Arata distributed pre-printed kendo notes, which he had written overtime during the past two days. The content was what he had learned from Unohana during this period.

Because he had the Spirit King's bloodline, much of the knowledge he could previously only understand intuitively, not with words, he could now gradually summarize and condense.

This was precisely a reflection of Arata's improved natural abilities.

The members expressed their gratitude to Arata, returned their wooden training swords to their original places, and happily left with their kendo notes.

This was a treasure that could help them improve their final exam scores!

The only ones left on site were Arata, Shūhei and two others, as well as Abarai Renji, who was reluctant to leave. He looked hesitant, as if struggling with something.

"Abarai-kun, is there something else you want to say?" Arata approached and asked.

"Hello! Senior Arata!" Renji seemed a little nervous and spoke with a slight stutter.

"Relax, this is the Kendo Club, not the teacher's office."

Arata smiled and patted Renji on the shoulder, telling him not to be nervous. "I noticed you were very diligent in your learning just now."

This wasn't commercial hype. After more than two hours of kendo class, the other members were more or less tired and distracted, but Renji was the only one who stayed focused the entire time.

Throughout the entire morning, Arata hadn't seen him daze off even once.

With that level of concentration, it's no wonder he would become a vice-captain in the future. He was truly a rare talent.

Unfortunately, his talent in Kidō was a bit weak, so he was slightly unbalanced.

Come to think of it, today should be the first-year Kidō class. This guy even skipped Kidō class to come participate in the Kendo Club activities.

Abarai Renji clutched the notes in his hand, took a deep breath, and finally decided to voice his request.

"Although it might be a bit disrespectful to senior Arata, I still want to ask you to give me additional guidance in kendo!"

"Please!"

After saying that, Renji bowed to Arata, his back straightened.

Arata raised his eyebrows when he heard that. He had actually expected something like this to happen, but he didn't think it would happen on the very first day of the Kendo Club opening.

Speaking of expectations, Arata definitely looked forward to this kind of opportunity to have deeper contact with main characters, to have more chances to change the thoughts, abilities, etc. of the other party.

The higher the probability of triggering [Change Destiny].

But if he agreed to the other party's request so easily, and the matter leaked, everyone would come begging him for extra lessons, and he would be extremely busy.

Arata frowned and touched his chin. "The purpose of establishing the Kendo Club was to help students who want to improve in kendo."

"I'm naturally very happy to see that Abarai-kun is so passionate about learning."

Hearing this, Renji, who was bowing, immediately straightened up, his face filled with joy: "Then, Arata-senpai, you agree?!"

Ever since witnessing Arata destroy a group of hollows with a single move of Nether Flame during the internship, Renji had regarded Arata as his life idol and even plastered his dorm with his success reports.

Every day before getting up and before going to bed, he would look at Arata's achievements, how he jumped from the bottom of the class to the top, to motivate himself to study hard.

Because of his fanatical idol-chasing behavior, he was misunderstood by his friends Rukia and Kira, who thought Renji had some special feelings toward Arata.

"What nonsense are you talking about? The person I like is Rukia…" Renji immediately retorted, but he didn't dare express his feelings in front of everyone, especially in front of Rukia.

He had no choice but to turn his sadness and frustration into motivation, deciding to quietly work hard and then surprise everyone.

Arata, of course, shook his head: "Don't get excited too soon, I didn't say I agreed."

Renji's happy expression immediately deflated.

Arata added: "Of course it's possible, but there are conditions."

Seeing things turn around, Renji immediately changed his expression: "Senior Arata, just say it, no matter the conditions, I'll do my best to fulfill them!"

"It's simple, you have to pay more."

"Ah? But, but I don't have much money." Renji looked unhappy. Born in Rukongai, he was notoriously poor. He had to save on meals, so where would he get money for the Kendo Club?

"Just kidding. Just bring your friends to join the Kendo Club." Arata presented his condition with a smile.

It's not enough to catch just Renji, if you're going to catch someone, catch Rukia and the others too!
