Chapter 47 - Slaying the Crime Emperor, Kingpin!

From deep within Xu Dan's mind, a phrase rose slowly and clearly:"Living Slash — Sixteen-Night Moonlight!"

This was an Ultimate Move.

In the real world, there are no health bars — when the wounds pile up, strength fades naturally; a strike to the vital points means life itself comes to an end.

At that instant, in Kingpin's office, blades of light erupted in every direction.

A fierce sword aura burst forth, taking form as countless invisible blades that reflected endlessly in Kingpin's eyes.

Fear — raw and primal — surged from his heart like a wild beast breaking loose.

Gradually, the gleam of the sword in his pupils began to dim.Along with it, Kingpin's consciousness scattered into darkness.

Huff... huff...

Xu Dan leaned on his forged steel blade, panting heavily.

It was his first time unleashing such an ultimate move on a real person.Even for him, it was both a mental and physical trial.

Fortunately — he passed that trial.

To his dying breath, Kingpin never imagined that his criminal empire, built over decades, would be dismantled by a "stranger" in just two days.

He had provoked countless enemies in his reign over the underworld — looting, killing, committing every crime imaginable.

Yet, in the end, he had always emerged victorious.

No one in this world dared to offend Kingpin — anyone who did ended up ruined or dead.

And yet, all it took was a minor debt-collection job that led his men to cross Xu Dan's path — and be wiped out.

Out of vengeance and greed for Xu Dan's future fortune, Kingpin sent his assassins. But within two short days, he suffered the most humiliating defeats of his life.

All because he laid hands on Xu Dan — and what he reaped was fatal retribution.

Had he simply endured that one incident, both men might have gone their separate ways, each living their own lives.

Ironically, he had just discovered something new that genuinely excited him — that game, Warcraft, which he never got to finish.

His greatest mistake was becoming Xu Dan's enemy. But realization came too late.

As blood poured from countless gashes, his vision darkened, his body grew cold — until eternal silence claimed him.

Xu Dan slid his forged blade back into its sheath and walked out of Kingpin's office as calmly as if nothing had happened.

From below, the wail of police sirens began to echo faintly upward.

They were close.

The aftermath could be left to them.He had no intention of wasting time answering endless police questions.

Moving quickly down the stairs, he started his car, took a sharp turn, and drove off toward Antarctic Game Studios, just as he did every morning.

He still had work to do.

Killing Kingpin had been an act of necessity — if the man hadn't pushed him repeatedly, Xu Dan would never have bothered.Whatever kind of "underworld emperor" Kingpin was, Xu Dan wasn't a vigilante. He didn't care about justice — only about earning his points.

As Xu Dan's car disappeared into the morning rush-hour traffic, police vehicles finally screeched to a stop in front of the Fisk Enterprises Tower.

The police chief jumped out, gun drawn.

Click—clack!

Behind him, every officer followed suit, weapons raised, eyes sharp.

"Move in!"

With adrenaline high, they advanced cautiously toward the building.

Fisk stood for both a corporate giant and a criminal overlord. But Fisk Enterprises itself wasn't officially "underworld."

Its security staff, without explicit orders, wouldn't dare open fire on uniformed officers — not in America, where one wrong move against the police could end in a hail of bullets.

Soon, the sounds of police boots and shouting reached Kingpin's office.

Everyone inside waited for his command.

But moments passed.No answer.

Could the King of Crime have… fallen asleep?

"Everyone hold formation — stay alert! First and Second Units, with me! Others, lock down the perimeter!" the chief ordered firmly.

At moments like this, decisive leadership mattered most.

The tense officers — unsettled by the eerie silence of the building — found resolve in his voice and moved swiftly into formation.

Barricades went up.Perimeters sealed.Teams advanced.

The First and Second Units — thirteen officers in all, counting the chief — chose the stairwell over the elevator for safety.

Each floor they climbed, their caution deepened; sweat ran down their faces under the mounting psychological strain.

When they reached the twentieth floor, a furious voice burst through the chief's radio:

"What the hell are you doing?! Fisk is one of New York's most respected businessmen — and you've surrounded his building like criminals! You idiot, you're fired! You're overstepping your authority! Back off immediately, or I'll have you arrested!"

Everyone froze.

That voice was unmistakable — their soon-to-retire but still-powerful commissioner.

And when he spoke, it usually meant he meant it.

"What do we do, sir?" one officer asked.

The chief said nothing. He quietly removed the radio from his vest, dropped it to the floor — and crushed it beneath his boot.

Then, coldly:"Keep moving."

"Yes, sir!"

At this point, turning back would mean punishment either way.But if they went forward — and captured the infamous Kingpin — they'd be heroes.

Not just heroes of Clinton, but of New York… maybe even of America.

The papers would hail them as the brave unit that risked their lives to eliminate the nation's most dangerous crime lord.Their names would be remembered.

And the rewards — promotions, fame, money — would follow.Maybe even a new wife, someone joked under his breath.

Finally, caught between dread and excitement, they reached Kingpin's office.

A vanguard officer stepped up and pushed the door open.

In that instant, every muscle in every body tensed.

They expected gunfire, resistance — chaos.

But there were no guards. Not a single one.

The air was thick with something else instead — the heavy, metallic scent of blood.

"What the hell happened here…?"

They rushed in.
