Kaku and Gojo stood opposite each other.
Behind Kaku, the floor was shattered, jagged cracks spreading in every direction from where Kaku had used his Tempest Kick before appearing here to stop Gojo from hunting down Spandam. Dust still floated faintly in the air, and broken chunks of stone lay scattered across the corridor.
Spandam, who was running ahead, felt a wave of relief when he saw Kaku appear. At the same time, he did not slow down even for a moment and continued running desperately.
Although Kaku was very powerful, Spandam still did not have the confidence that Kaku would be able to deal with Gojo.
Till now, Gojo had already destroyed Jabra, must have also destroyed Frunkfreed, his beloved pet elephant(sword), and then Fukurou, who had stayed behind to buy him time. And now Gojo was here again, still chasing after him.
That meant Fukurou had also been dealt with.
Spandam's face remained pale as sweat dripped down his forehead while he ran. The only person he could think of who could truly deal with Gojo was Rob Lucci.
But till now, Rob Lucci was nowhere to be seen.
The corridor grew silent.
Kaku and Gojo stood facing each other, the distance between them not too far, yet it felt strangely heavy. A faint breeze passed through the broken hallway, causing Gojo's white hair to sway lightly.
Gojo stood there calmly with his hands in his pockets, looking completely relaxed, as if none of this was worth taking seriously.
Kaku looked at him carefully.
Then Kaku spoke first.
"This old man wasn't expecting someone as young as you to be able to make our boss flee in panic."
His sharp eyes narrowed slightly.
"And if you were able to deal with Jabra, then that means you are quite powerful. Fukurou is nowhere to be seen either, so it seems you have dealt with him too."
A faint smile appeared on Kaku's face.
"Interesting."
Then his expression hardened again.
"But don't even think about going after our boss again, because now you will be facing me, this old man."
Gojo looked at Kaku with a rather comical expression. He even lifted his blindfold slightly, revealing one eye just to confirm whether what he was seeing with his blindfold was correct or not.
And yes, the person standing in front of him was quite young.
Gojo looked at him for a moment before saying, "Why the hell are you calling yourself an old man? You are also in your twenties."
As soon as Kaku heard this, he immediately replied, "People find this old man mature."
For a second, the corridor became quiet.
Gojo simply rolled his eyes.
This guy is unbelievable.
At the same time, he was already ready to deal with Kaku.
Kaku also noticed the slight tensing of Gojo's muscles and saw his hand moving slightly towards his hilt. The moment he noticed that, Kaku did not hesitate even a little.
He immediately used Tempest Kick twice in rapid succession.
His legs blurred.
Two sharp air slashes shot forward with terrifying speed, slicing through the air towards Gojo. A loud whistling sound echoed through the corridor as the compressed blades of air tore through everything in their path.
Gojo felt the attacks coming instantly.
Without even changing his expression, he casually raised his left hand.
With a simple wave from right to left, he deflected the first Tempest Kick air blade away.
Then, with another wave from left to right, he deflected the second one as well.
The redirected air slashes flew towards the walls on both sides of the corridor.
Boom!
Large chunks of stone exploded outward as both walls were struck directly, cracks spreading rapidly through them while debris crashed onto the floor.
Dust filled the corridor once more.
Seeing Gojo so easily deflect both of his Tempest Kick attacks, Kaku's face became solemn.
He now knew that with just his normal strength, he could not take down Gojo.
He needed to use the Devil Fruit he had only gotten today.
Immediately, Kaku started transforming.
His body shifted strangely.
His neck elongated rapidly, stretching upward to an absurd degree. His arms changed shape, becoming thicker and ending in hooves, while spots began appearing across his body. In only a few moments, Kaku had turned into a bizarre humanoid giraffe.
Thankfully, the ceiling of the corridor was tall enough to accommodate Kaku's newly elongated neck and head.
The transformed Kaku looked down at Gojo from above, his long face calm and serious.
Kaku, still in his humanoid giraffe form, used a variation of Tempest Kick this time.
"Tempest Kick: Straight Line."
Unlike the normal Tempest Kick, which released a flying air slash, this attack was more like an air bullet. A compressed blast of air shot forward in a straight line with incredible speed, tearing apart the floor as it traveled toward Gojo.
The stone ground split open in a straight path behind it.
But just as that powerful air bullet reached Gojo, it suddenly stopped only inches away from his body.
It was as if it had slammed into an invisible wall.
The attack hung there for a brief second, trembling violently in the air before slowly dissipating into nothingness.
Gojo did not even move.
He stood there calmly with his hands still in his pockets, his blindfold fluttering lightly from the force of the attack.
Kaku's attack had been completely ineffective.
Kaku's eyes narrowed.
He immediately realized that this must be the invisible barrier-type ability that Fukurou had mentioned before, along with the information they had received about Gojo.
"This is troublesome," Kaku said in a low voice.
His sharp eyes carefully studied the area around Gojo's body.
Kaku immediately started analyzing Gojo's invisible defensive barrier.
Even most of the attacks from Fukurou and Jabra had been completely ineffective against him. That thin invisible barrier had easily defended against all of those attacks without much issue.
Still... I should get a better look at his defensive capabilities.
I need to verify whether the defensive barrier around his body is really that powerful or not.
Kaku remained calm as he thought about it.
If he could determine the limit of that barrier, then perhaps he would still have a chance.
After making up his mind, he decided to use one of the best attacks in his arsenal to test Gojo's defensive capabilities and the true limit of the invisible barrier surrounding his body.
Kaku shifted his stance.
His long giraffe legs bent slightly, and the air around him seemed to grow sharper.
Then he immediately used another technique.
"Tempest Kick: White Thunder."
This move was different from the normal Tempest Kick.
Instead of using one leg, Kaku combined both legs into a single Tempest Kick swing, concentrating the force of two Tempest Kicks into one devastating attack and amplifying its power far beyond normal.
The muscles in his long legs tightened.
Then he swung.
A far larger and denser air slash burst forward with terrifying force, roaring through the corridor like a streak of white lightning. The floor beneath it exploded apart as it rushed straight toward Gojo.
After seeing this attack from Kaku, Gojo more or less guessed what Kaku was trying to do.
After all that analysis, Kaku was clearly trying to test the defenses of the Limitless.
So, Gojo simply let the attack hit him.
He stood there almost completely defenseless, except for the invisible Limitless surrounding his body.
Soon, the powerful Tempest Kick: White Thunder reached him.
The massive air blade tore through the corridor with terrifying force before finally colliding directly with Gojo.
Or, to be more precise, it collided with the Limitless.
The moment it reached the invisible barrier around him, the attack stopped.
It remained suspended in front of him, unable to move forward even another inch no matter how much force it carried.
The compressed air slash trembled violently, distorting the air around it.
Then, after struggling for only a moment, it slowly began to break apart before dissipating entirely.
Gojo did not even blink.
His clothes did not move.
Not even a strand of his hair shifted.
Looking towards Kaku, Gojo said, "Now you are done testing my defense. Now it is my turn."
As soon as he finished speaking, he unsheathed the sword hanging at his left hip.
The sound of metal sliding out of the sheath echoed sharply through the corridor.
Then Gojo disappeared.
Kaku's eyes widened slightly.
In the very next instant, Gojo had already appeared directly in front of him.
Gojo swung his sword diagonally upward without hesitation.
The blade cut through the air with frightening speed.
Kaku reacted hastily.
He immediately unsheathed both of his Shirasaya katanas and crossed them in front of himself to defend against Gojo's sword strike.
Clang!
The three swords collided with each other.
Sparks burst into the air.
However, Gojo's sword was covered in invisible Armament Haki.
The moment the blades made contact, Kaku immediately realized something was wrong.
His expression changed.
Gojo's sword cut through Kaku's swords with almost no resistance at all.
The Shirasaya katanas split apart cleanly.
Before Gojo's blade could continue toward his body, Kaku reacted without hesitation.
He immediately used Shave.
His figure blurred and disappeared from the spot, retreating backward at high speed and creating distance between himself and Gojo.
