At the training grounds, Mio was practicing the [Blade of death] technique, the same one she has been trying her best for Kazuma and Yuji. She was gathering up a huge amount of energy on her left arm, her palm sparked with intense red energy as she continued to charge all the power she had in there. While doing so, she groaned and struggled "Ghhhh! GAH!!", more red energy bursted out of her arm and started going berserk "Come on! I've got to perfect it! Ive been a solider for eight months now. I also started practicing this technique around three months ago, I did it so that I could keep up with Kazuma, as well as support Yuji. Kazuma is someone I really like, and Yuji is a friend I want to help at all times. That's why.... I have too....". Ranpo was standing infront of a tree, his hands were folded as he watched his student try to perfect the technique she tried to come up with, he thought to himself "It's been three months since you picked up the idea of creating your own technique. When I asked you why you wanted to create it, you said it was for the love you had for Kazuma, as well as the friendship you felt for Yuji. That's why I continued to watch you perform the technique without interfering In it.", Mio started to sweat as her veins popped out. The energy she was gathering was starting to go out of control, but yet, she was still able to put it in place. A thought raced In Ranpo's head "I told you that creating a shape out of energy is extremely hard. Sure, your energy is the same thing as you, but regardless, it still has a mind of its own. Energy is something that can be converted, but it's not something that can be controlled into a shape just like that, you have to make it do so by force. Mio, you have to make sure your energy fully understands that you are it's boss.". Mio kept struggling, sweat pouring, veins popped from her face down to her hands, her teeth grinned and her eyes were wild but focused. As Mio kept charging energy into her hand, she understood one thing "If I keep going like this, my demonic energy would surge out without control. I'll waste my base energy and give room for the demon side. And even if I don't do that, when I run out of energy, my demonic side would naturally take over. In which case.....", the tramendous amount of energy she was putting up with one hand started to take shape. It was slowly wavering despite an almost uncontrollable amout pouring out, but it was still taking shape while being out of control. Ranpo noticed this, his eyes widened, he noticed that Mio's energy started to take the shape of a dagger "Wait a moment, it's starting to take shape.", he said to himself, Mio on the other also noticed this "Almost there.... I'm almost there....". Suddenly, while the energy had finally started to form a clear dagger shape, it started to become even more uncontrollable. This made the technique Mio was preparing extremely heavy "GOD DAMMIT! ITS TOO HEAVY....!", she yelled out as she shot the attack at a speed hundreds of times the speed of lightning. The red beam flew towards Ranpo with a berserk amount of power, he tilted his head without moving as the [Blade of death] Mio was trying to perfect had destroyed a large number of trees and turned them into ash. Ranpo looked behind him, he whistled "FHEEW! This is.... surprisingly unexpected.", he muttered as he looked at the destruction behind him. He turned to Mio again, he realised that her left palm had suffered some major burns "That's enough for today. I know it's your personal training, but I can't stand by and watch you as my student hurts herself.", he said to Mio. Mio on the other hand was breathing heavily "Yeah, sorry about that", Ranpo muttered without Mio even hearing him at all "Can you see that...?", a small skull mask created from red flames flickered on his shoulders the entire time. A female voice replied "Yes, I do.", the person who responded was Ms. Ukachi, Mio's foster parent who was in the demon country. She sat on a bench in front of her house with a mild smile on her face "Mio.... you really are becoming stronger.", she said to herself. Ranpo walked towards Mio "Let's treat your wound. Does it hurt that badly?", he asked. Mio shrugged off the pain with a smile, the burn still hurts "It's fine. I'll regenerate the wound.", Ranpo explained to her "Regenerating the wound doesn't mean the pain would entirely go away. Let's treat it first.". Ranpo did a few hand signs "Water Technique + Ice Technique: Deep water cool down", he shot out a wave of ice cold water at Mio's palm. After a few seconds, the burn had finally cooled down, but the burn aftermath was still there, the first layer of skin on that arm had burned up. Ranpo looked at the arm "Tch, that really was a deadly move.", he brought out a scroll from his pocket, he opened it, a bandag roll and some liquid medicine poofed out of the smoke that came out of the scroll. Ranpo bandaged up Mio's burnt arm "Feeling better?", he asked. Mio looked at the arm and smiled at her teacher "Yeah, it does. Thanks, Ranpo sensei.", Ranpo smiled back "You're welcome, Mio.". Ranpo explained to Mio as they both sat down "You've definitely created the technique you wanted, at least 70 percent of it. Now, all's left is to master it. The technique looked like it had a lot of power and speed, especially speed. That level of speed was abnormal for a C-rank like yourself, Mio. You really are amazing.". Mio looked saddened and asked "Ranpo sensei, do you think I'll get this technique? I mean, it's been three months since I started practicing it, and it's just now I've gotten it. But still, it still gives me negative effects...", Ranpo blinked at her before looking at the sky "I have no idea. But, if you want to keep practicing it, I suggest you do so. It's an attack you thought of by yourself, unlike Kazuma's purple flames which would kill him if he keeps using it, yours doesn't seem like a self destructive move.". Mio looked at Ranpo "Kazuma's purple flames would kill him?", Ranpo sighed "Ahh, I said to much. Whatever, you asked me if you can get the hang of the move you're trying to perfect, and my answer is yes. You will get a hang of it. Just keep working hard, that's all.".
