"What do you mean? I haven't changed. I'm still me," I told him, forcing a smile.
"Sol said you weren't like this before," he replied with a faint grin. "Who are you, really?"
"Huh?"
"Does Luna have a twin? Are you the one pretending to be her?"
I chuckled at his absurd question.
Even if I told him the truth, he wouldn't believe me. One of the reasons Saichi fell for Sol was because she understood him completely. Sol knew that Saichi only pretended to be kind—she saw right through his mask. She also knew how much he hated being adored by everyone.
"Whatever," I muttered, turning away before he could throw any more nonsense.

The moment I stepped out of the library, someone grabbed my wrist. In a blur, I found myself inside an unused classroom.
"Drein, what are you—"
My words faded when he suddenly pulled me into his arms.
"Just... let me hold you. Just for a minute," he whispered. His voice was trembling—so was mine. I didn't move. I didn't speak.
