Focused on getting the fruits on the side of the cliff, Kai was in the air flapping his gigantic wings when he heard the piercing scream of Travis.
For whatever reason, the sound came out like a moanful cry instead of a normal cry for help. Kai paused mid-air, tense.
Was he doing it with Derek?
He couldn't explain what he felt, but he sure was mad.
"Derek, I am going to kill you if you do anything to Travis without my permission!"
Dumping his attempt to pick a fruit, he flew back to the ground and began to growl viciously. Landing with force, the ground vibrated so badly—worse than when he took off—making the eggs, which had previously hatched, all stumble and fall to the ground. The rope-like creatures that burst from them scattered, momentarily saving the others from being bitten.
But despite that, it didn't mean they didn't almost fall to their death—all thanks to Kai.
