Chapter 16 - Chapter 15 — The Birth of Sword Aura

Dragons—

the strongest beings beneath the constellations.

Their hearts were said to contain an ocean of mana, the source of every dragon's overwhelming power.

But Suho's **skeleton dragons** had no hearts. No mana cores.

They were mere husks of the divine beasts they once were—

until now.

Inside this vast open battlefield, their sheer physical might became unstoppable.

They didn't need mana to devastate.

Each swing of their claws crushed dozens of enemies; each snap of their jaws shredded Catalus flesh and shell alike.

Bones cracked, wings tore through air, and the ruin of **Nikas** echoed with the roars of the dead.

---

Above the barrier, the **water battle** still raged; below, in the city's heart, Suho's forces clashed endlessly.

The fight had stretched past **ten hours**.

The monsters only grew stronger, but so did Suho.

> [Level Up — 70]

> [Stat Points + 5]

> [Skill Points + 3]

> [Shop Unlocked.]

The notification glimmered faintly on his screen.

Even as explosions thundered around him, Suho opened his **Status Window**—a dangerous distraction in the middle of combat.

But curiosity outweighed fear.

> "A… shop?" he muttered. "Let's see what you've got."

Rows of items appeared: weapons, armor, elixirs—some tagged **Rare** or **Epic**.

There were even skill scrolls glowing faint blue.

His eyes widened.

> "Skills…? Finally!"

Until now, his repertoire was pitiful:

**Fire Ball** and **Combine (Fire + Aura)**—half-broken spells barely under his control.

Everything else—holy light, aura bursts, necromancy—was self-taught improvisation.

He had no *talent*, no *class*.

Learning through training alone had always ended in failure, Status given that power through basic knowledge from books.

---

Then one entry caught his eye:

> **Skill — Wind Sword**

> *Class: Unique / Condition: Only Swordsmen can learn.*

Suho pressed purchase.

> [Class Requirement Not Met.]

> [Analyzing Talent…]

> [Result — Player does not possess Sword Talent.]

A soft chime. The skill vanished from the list.

> "It… sold out?" he said in disbelief. "Even here I need class and talent?!"

He tried again—different skills, different elements.

Every time, the same rejection:

> [Does not have Talent.]

> [Does not have Class.]

After dozens of attempts.

He closed the window, jaw tight.

> "So even the skills looks down on me."

---

There was no time for frustration.

A new tremor shook the ruins.

From the shadows emerged **humanoid Catalus**—armored like soldiers, wielding curved swords, mounted on giant crab-beasts.

> [Second Wave — Active.]

The air erupted into chaos.

The **Skeleton Dragons** starts smashing cavalry into dust.

The **skeleton Goblin Lords** and **Skeleton Trolls** clashed in brutal melee.

Fireballs rained like meteors.

Arrow storms split the sky.

The city became a living storm of metal, bone, and blood.

---

Suho stood at the center, eyes wild with fatigue.

He'd leveled again, poured every point into strength and endurance, but the pressure only grew.

Drawing in a deep breath, he slammed his palms together beneath his feet a big magic circle was there, suho draw this before second wave.

All this time , He was pouring mana but by bit in that magic circle.

> *"skill — Necromancy"*

A glowing magic circle spread outward, swallowing the battlefield.

Every Catalus corpse on the ground twitched… then rose again.

Their flesh melted, shells sloughed off, and bleached bones emerged beneath.

> [Skill Effect — Necromantic Conversion Activated.]

> [Unit Created: Skeleton Catalus.]

The monsters turned against their own kind, attacking in mindless fury.

Suho combined broken soldiers, reforging them stronger each time.

But the cost was immense.

His mana drained like an open wound, his vision dimmed, his body screamed.

---

> *"I'm just a normal man…"* he thought bitterly.

> *"A modern nobody… who never even learned how to throw a punch."*

Yet here he was—fighting like a demon just to survive.

Stronger Catalus appeared next—**Knight-class**, their weapons gleaming with faint aura.

The system whispered for fairness:

> *(For balance, monsters can only use 10 % of their true power on this stage.)*

Even ten percent was enough to overwhelm him.

A Catalus Knight swung.

Suho parried—but the creature's blade sliced through his sword in a single strike.

The second attack aimed for his heart.

He twisted aside, narrowly dodging, then kicked the knight in the chest and countered bare-handed.

His fists glowed with unstable light—

a mixture of **Aura** and **Holy Power**, forced together through **Combine**.

Each strike shattered bones, yet his arms trembled from recoil.

Blood dripped from his nose, his earlier wounds reopening.

Miho and Veno fought beside him, cutting down knights one after another, but the enemy tide never stopped.

---

A Catalus Knight's punch slammed into Suho's face.

He flew backward, crashing into rubble.

The knight raised its sword for the finishing blow—

but a sudden **barrier** of blue light flared between them.

> *"Hogwords…?"*

The skeleton mage stood ahead, staff raised, chanting in a trembling voice.

He was intrested in city's barrier magic, so all this time he was analysing this barrier magic.

His spell deflected the strike with a deafening clang.

Veno and Miho seized the opening, cutting through the knight's armor in perfect unison.

The battlefield shifted again—

Skeleton Dragons tore apart the last cavalry.

---

Suho staggered to his feet, grabbing another sword from the ground.

He coated it with **holy light**, then layered **aura** on top, forcing the energies to fuse.

The blade vibrated violently, light crackling along its edge.

> [New Skill Acquired — Sword Aura (Normal).]

> [Proficiency 0.1 %.]

Suho exhaled, voice raw.

> "About… time."

He swung.

A thin arc of radiant energy sliced through the nearest Catalus Knight cleanly in half.

More followed, his attacks growing sharper with each swing.

The ruins of Nikas shook beneath their feet—streets already drowned in fire and bone now running red again.

---

When the final knight fell, silence returned only for a heartbeat.

Suho's body was in ruins—blood dripped from his mouth, his legs barely supported him.

His left shoulder hung limp; half his armor was shattered.

Around him lay fragments of his army.

Many of his **tamed beasts** and **respawned versions** were gone—reduced to dust.

And far above, the system's cold voice whispered once more:

> [Third Wave — Approaching.]

Suho spat blood, tightening his grip on his sword.

> *"Not yet…"*

The fight was far from over.
