Chapter 21 - Chapter 20 — The Demon Who Laughs

The flooded ruins of the city shook under the weight of power.

Veno's blue lightning clashed with the Captain Commander's dark aura.

Their speed was beyond the limits of vision — only flashes of light and shockwaves marked their movements.

Each collision split the water apart, sending sheets of spray skyward.

The air screamed.

In the distance, **Miho** staggered forward, his small skeletal body trembling but resolute.

He raised his crimson sword once again and joined the fray, attacking from behind.

The clash of **blue lightning, red flame, and black energy** painted the battlefield in chaos.

Meanwhile, the **Giant Commander** roared — a sound like thunder cracking mountains.

Suho's army, millions of skeleton, surged toward him like a white wave of bone.

Skeleton trolls, minotaurs, goblin lords, and the resurrected beasts of Stage-1 all charged as one.

The Giant Commander brought both hands together, **aura gathering between his palms**, glowing with ominous pressure.

Then he clapped.

**BOOOOM!**

The impact was like a collapsing world.

A shockwave of dark energy obliterated everything in front of him.

Hogwards reacted instantly — slamming his staff to the ground, erecting a massive barrier of shimmering blue.

But the next instant, it **shattered**.

The entire skeleton army was scattered like dust.

Tens of thousands of undead were blown away.

The ground split.

Bones rained down like hail.

The Giant Commander lifted one hand and *with aura alone*, **suspended half of the skeleton army mid-air**.

The other hand clenched into a fist.

> "Fall."

Half of the army was hurled violently downward — colliding into the other half.

The sky turned into a storm of broken bones.

Yet the undead still fought.

Skeleton archers fired arrows, but the Giant Commander's aura stopped them mid-flight and sent them spiraling back like deadly rain.

Skeleton trolls and minotaurs charged through the chaos with mindless determination.

The **Spider Queen's** skeletons wrapped his legs in webs.

The **Monkey Keu** struck his chest with mountain-breaking force.

Every boss Suho had ever revived — every water creature he had conquered or tamed — fought together.

And still, the Giant Commander remained standing.

---

On the other side, the duel between **Veno** and the **Captain Commander** had become apocalyptic.

Their blades flashed faster than light.

Each impact shook the water, every movement trailing streaks of lightning and darkness.

Miho, broken but unyielding, leaped in again to assist.

But his ribs, already cracked, could no longer endure the strain.

A single kick from the Captain Commander sent him flying.

**Crack!**

Miho hit the ground hard.

His ribcage shattered completely.

The red sword clattered beside him.

Miho didn't rise...

He looked up at Veno with flickering soul-fire eyes — as if apologizing for being too weak.

His trembling hand reached toward the sword, but it didn't move.

A faint red glow pulsed inside his hollow chest… then dimmed.

---

Veno turned toward the Captain Commander, his blue lightning flaring brighter than ever.

His expression — though a skull — somehow radiated pure fury.

> "…"

He simply moved.

Lightning wrapped around his entire body — arcs of raw energy lashing out like whips.

Each slash of his sword carved through the water, through space itself, the sound lagging behind the strike.

The Captain Commander's dark aura began to falter, unable to completely repel Veno's unrelenting assault.

The tide had turned.

For a fleeting moment, it seemed Veno would win.

Then—

**Crack.**

Veno's arm fissured.

The lightning around it flickered and shattered.

Fragments of bone scattered into the water.

The Captain Commander seized the opening.

He countered with a single strike — a blow infused with pitch-black aura.

**Bang!**

Veno's body was sent flying.

Half of his skull was crushed; one arm was gone.

He landed hard, barely holding his sword in other hand.

The Commander walked forward slowly, raising his hand, gathering dark aura for the finishing blow.

No one could stop him.

Hogwards was still struggling to keep the Giant Commander at bay.

Miho lay motionless, shattered and silent.

---

Meanwhile, at the edge of the ruins—

**Suho** lay among the debris, half-submerged in water.

His chest rose and fell in shallow breaths.

His fingers twitched, his vision blurred.

Everything hurt.

> "Haa… haa..."

A faint warmth pulsed in his heart.

Then, like a whisper through the darkness—

a memory surfaced.

---

### *Flashback — Age 9*

"Suho, why are you crying?"

His mother's voice — gentle but firm.

Little Suho's face was bruised, his clothes covered in mud.

He sobbed quietly.

> "I-I was playing… but some kids came and hit me…"

"Then why didn't you fight back?"

> "They were bigger than me, Mom… stronger…"

His mother sighed, kneeling beside him.

> "There will always be people stronger than you.

> But if you cry every time someone takes your place, you'll never move forward."

She smiled faintly and patted his head.

> "Go back, Suho. This time, punch that kid once.

> Not to win… just to tell yourself you can."

Later, when she found him lying on the grass with a bloody nose, In Background parents of that kid scolding them—

She smiled when suho grinned back through the tears.

> "See? You're not scared anymore, right?"

> "No, Mom. I beat that fear. If it comes again, I'll beat it again."

> "Good. Whenever you're afraid, don't cry. Just laugh."

> "Hahaha! My throat hurts!"

> "You little idiot—!"

Her laughter mixed with his.

---

### *Flashback — Age 15 to 24*

> "You got average marks again, Suho."

> "Try harder if you want a good job."

> "Hey Suho, stop being so serious, man! College is for fun!"

> "You think too much — just live a little!"

Suho's days blurred.

He grew older.

He tried.

And failed.

Tried again.

Failed again.

At twenty-four, he sat alone, jobless, watching his friends succeed.

He laughed.

> "Hahaha… I'll make it someday… hahahaha…"

But the laughter twisted.

The voice in his memory deepened, warping into something monstrous.

When he looked at the reflection in the puddle, the face smiling back…

wasn't his.

It was **the Captain Commander's**.

The moment the Captain Commander's hand descended toward Veno—

**It stopped.**

A hand caught it.

The Commander's eyes widened.

He turned slowly.

Suho stood there, soaked in blood and water.

Crimson aura poured off him like wildfire, staining the world red.

His eyes were hollow — no fear, no pain.

Only a quiet, chilling calm.

And then—

He laughed.

A low, broken laugh that grew louder, sharper, until it echoed through the entire city.

> "Hahaha… ahahaha… hahahahahaha!"

The Commander stepped back instinctively.

Every skeleton turned their head.

Even the Giant Commander paused, sensing the shift.

Suho tilted his head, his smile widening.

The **Berserk Aura** exploded.

And the battlefield burned red.
