Chapter 21 - His Majesty Twilight

*During the time Steve was fighting against Hydra*

Pov: General

Somewhere in the galaxy, on a relatively ignored planet called Zen-Whoberi, a group of natives could be seen practicing swordsmanship with technologically advanced weapons and armors around a massive castle, one surprisingly made of ordinary stone.

Inside that castle, a man over three and a half meters tall sat in an incredibly spacious office, filling out information on an advanced digital device.

What kind of information? Even he wasn't quite sure

What he did know was that he'd been stuck in that office for over a week, and he was desperate to get out.

Still, no matter how much he wanted to leave, he knew he couldn't simply abandon his duty.

His honor wouldn't allow it.

"Damn it… I wish they'd hurry up with that digital assistant technology already,"

Muttered Twilight, finally taking a moment to rest after finishing the endless data processing.

When suddenly

*BAM!*

The door burst open, and one of his knights ran in, grinning from ear to ear and overflowing with excitement.

"Your Majesty! We've finally completed the technology!"

Twilight's expression instantly brightened

He jumped to his feet, shaking the room with the motion.

"Take it in the zone of training immediately! I want to see it!"

And then he dashed through the halls like a man possessed, barely containing his anticipation.

After what felt like an eternity of running, but in reality it took no less than 5 seconds, he finally reached the chamber where the prototype was being kept.

But what stood before him… was not the technology he had expected.

"…What is this?"

Twilight asked, doing his best to suppress his rising frustration because what he saw was far from the digital assistant he'd been longing for.

"Your Majesty, please allow us to explain!"

said one of the researchers, mistaking Twilight's trembling for excitement.

"This is a condensed light blade, capable of piercing through almost anything!" (Translator: Star Wars!? 😳)

As he spoke, the another researcher pressed a switch on the hilt, igniting a bright blade of pure energy.

"As you can see, we designed it in honor of your own power, creating the blade from nothingness itself!"

He continued rambling excitedly, explaining the blade's mechanisms in detail.

Twilight, however, wasn't listening.

Still, patience was something he'd mastered long ago in his past life so he waited until the researcher was done.

"…That's all, Your Majesty, what do you think?"

Asked the scientist, his expression a mix of pride and nervousness.

"It's a fine weapon"

Twilight finally replied, though he hadn't heard most of the explanation, anyway, those simple words filled the researchers with overwhelming joy.

"Begin mass production"

Twilight ordered

"Now then… how's the progress on my assistant?"

The researcher's proud smile faltered, guilt crept into his expression.

Twilight didn't need to hear the answer, he already knew.

"… It's not finished yet, is it?"

He asked quietly, but without blaming them

"No, Your Majesty,"

The second researcher admitted, lowering his head.

Everyone in the kingdom knew how tirelessly Twilight worked to rule and protect them, so they respected him deeply, and pitied him just as much

After all, the man who had ushered in this new age of prosperity barely had time to enjoy it himself.

"…I understand"

Twilight said at last, resigned

"I want everyone in the kingdom to begin training with these new swords

But make sure strict safety measures are followed"

His tone was so commanding, so resolute, that everyone in the room instinctively knelt before him.

"As you command, Great Twilight Giant!"

They all cried in unison before hurrying off to fulfill his orders.

Once the room was empty, Twilight returned to his chambers.

Stepping out onto the balcony, he gazed down at his vast kingdom, the world he had built and protected.

"…Forgive the delay in my mission, Master"

He murmured softly.

"But I couldn't abandon my vows in the end… I'm sure you and the others understand."

He let out a sigh, part exhaustion, part melancholy, before turning back inside to rest, because he knew, gomorrow would be another long, demanding day.

Oh, and if you wanted to know, no, he still ain't secuence 5

(Translator: You definitely slipped Star Wars in there, didn't you?

Writer: Well, what did you expect? It's the only series I know about space knights! 😅)

--//--//--//--//--//--

Sorry this chapter is a bit short, but the story of Twilight Giant, along with Death and Darkness, has already been told before, so this time, I just plan to narrate more of a day-to-day slice of life. 😋
