Ethan left work earlier than usual that evening as his mind had been restless all day, but he had still forced himself to stay focused on the most important tasks at work. He had a plan..Now that Clara wasn't coming home early, maybe he can spend sometime with their son, and at least help him understand the tension in the house.
When he walked into the house, he found Rosa sitting cross legged on the carpet beside Axiel, trying to help him sort out the toy airplane spare parts he had scattered everywhere. In the background, Margaret and the housekeeper, Maryam,were busy moving around in the kitchen preparing dinner.
The moment Axiel spotted Ethan, everything else in the world disappeared.
"Dad!" he shouted, abandoning the mess and sprinting across the room. He jumped straight into Ethan's arms. "I missed you so much dad! I haven't seen you for so long."
Ethan held him tightly. "Hey, buddy," he said softly. "Are you okay? How was your day?"
