That Monday morning, at the Ashford Corporation, employees were already streaming in before 8 am.
Most of them, including Ethan's assistant Emma, noticed that Ethan had been arriving later than usual for two weeks now, and naturally, the rumor mill was working overtime.
At Emma's desk, two female architects, Lena and Chloe approached with their coffees in hand.
"Emma," Lena whispered, leaning in, "be honest..what's going on with the boss? He's been coming in late and leaving early for a while now. People are saying it's because of troubles with his wife."
Chloe nodded dramatically. "Yeah. Half the office is gossiping that she has been cheating on him, long before the wedding."
Lena rolled her eyes. "I bet it's a lie. Don't you think that's ridiculous? Who would cheat on Ethan Ashford? The man is a full package and some. Every woman in this building has a crush on him." She paused, then added with a smirk. "Even a few of the men."
