Chapter 19 - Why Do You Hate Me?

And Louis had been searching for half an hour.

"Shit!" he cursed. Should he call Alexander now? But he was sure it would only cause a commotion if the man was told. Who knew how many bodyguards would be sent out.

Meanwhile, Nathan sat casually on a tree that grew right next to the burger shop. He often went there with Vale, and they often spent time on that tree after eating burgers.

The tree was very large and old, with many low branches. Although most of it was now covered in snow, he held back from making things too difficult for Louis.

He felt bad for laughing at the man's confusion, but he could not help himself. It was Louis's own fault for following him.

He stared at his phone, which kept vibrating with Louis's calls.

For a moment, he stayed there. Until he finally felt sorry for Louis and jumped down. He walked into the burger shop and ordered two burgers and drinks, then sat down at one of the tables inside.

He answered Louis's call, which was probably the tenth time.

"Hey, come inside. Where are you?" Nathan asked, trying not to laugh. Louis sighed on the other end, replying breathlessly.

"Where are you, Nathan?" he exclaimed.

"I'm inside the burger shop," Nathan replied, almost laughing.

The call ended and a few moments later Louis ran inside. He looked around and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Nathan.

"You had me worried! Where were you?" Louis said. His face looked pale. Nathan saw him and realized he had gone too far.

"I just went to the bathroom," Nathan lied.

Before Louis could reply, the server announced that their burgers were ready. Nathan quickly picked up his order and told Louis to sit down.

Louis, who was still half panicked, was even more confused. But he understood that Nathan wanted him to sit and eat with him. Still, he felt he should not do it. His job required him to remain on standby.

But Nathan insisted. "Do you want me to eat alone? Come on, sit down!" he pleaded.

After a short debate, Louis finally gave in and sat down. He began to eat the burger in front of him.

"Please Nathan, do not disappear from my sight. You know how anxious I get. I am going crazy," Louis complained with his mouth full.

"I only went to the bathroom for a minute," Nathan lied.

"I looked for you there several times, and I could not find you!" Louis knew Nathan was lying, but he did not want to argue with his young master.

Louis stared at the burger in his hand. Then he looked at Nathan. The young man's face looked calmer than before. He realized how different this person was now. Especially because he had given him a burger.

"Thank you," Louis said after finishing his burger. He knew Nathan just wanted to be kind to him. But he should not have eaten with his master. Even so, he said nothing, afraid of upsetting Nathan.

They drove around town again for a while. When they were about to go to Nathan's old school, they found out that Vale was not going to school that day, which disappointed Nathan.

Finally, they went home. When he returned to the mansion, he was immediately greeted by Nael, who was waiting in his room.

Nathan frowned right away, annoyed that the young man was there, in his room.

"Why are you here?" Nathan snapped, stopping in the middle of the room.

Nael stood up from the sofa, looking nervous. But he tried to smile. "No, I just..."

"Get out!" Nathan ordered.

Nael looked down nervously. He wanted to talk to his twin, but it was clear that Nathan hated him. Even so, he did not give up.

"Mmm, you are coming with us later, right? To the decoration store?" he asked.

Nathan had been thinking about it, but when Nael asked, he knew the answer right away. "No. Now get out!"

Nael swallowed hard. "I am sorry. I made you uncomfortable. But I really did not mean any harm. Can we be closer?" he asked.

"No fucking way I will be close to you!" Nathan replied quickly.

"Why? Why do you hate me so much?"

Nathan was silent. He did not know why he hated Nael so much either. He did not like his other siblings, but he really hated Nael.

"Get out!" Nathan said again.

Nael did not move. He looked hurt and confused. He reached into his pocket and took out his cell phone.

"Alex gave me the same phone. Aren't we really brothers now?" Nael asked innocently. He hoped that Nathan would accept him more, since they were twins who would share many things.

But instead of softening, Nael's words made Nathan extremely angry.

That phone ... He felt betrayed.

Alexander did not buy it just for him. Nael got it without asking for anything, or negotiate. For some reason, he was very angry and upset about it.

"Why did you tell me? To show off? Don't you already have everything?" Nathan said coldly.

Nael gasped when he heard that. He went silent when he saw the anger in Nathan's eyes.

"Nathan, I did not mean to show off. I just..."

"Just what? Show that you are better?"

Nael quickly shook his head. "No! Why do you think badly of me? I never wanted to compete with you! I am your brother!"

Nathan chuckled. "Brother? Bullshit! You will never be my brother. Never! Now get out!" Nathan shouted.

Nael gulped. He was shocked by his twin's reaction. He only wanted to show him his new phone, maybe they could play with it together.

"Aargh!" Nael screamed when Nathan pushed him out of the room. He was not ready for it.

Nael almost fell. Before he could protest, Nathan was already close and pushed him again.

Nathan kept pushing Nael until the young man finally left the room. And for the last time, he pushed harder, making his twin fall to the floor.

"You..." Nael groaned, about to curse Nathan, but his twin had already slammed the door shut.

Nael tried to stand up, feeling pain in his waist. His hand was sprained from catching himself. But then he realized something. His eyes widened as he touched his pocket.

His phone!

It seemed he had left it in the room. He had placed it on the sofa when he saw Nathan get angry. He quickly knocked on the door.

"Nathan, I left my phone inside!" Nael shouted.

A few moments later, the door opened. Before Nael could say anything else, he saw his cell phone flying through the air. His eyes widened.

His heart almost stopped when he saw the phone hit the floor with a loud thud.

"NOOO!" He was shocked by his own voice. He quickly grabbed the phone.

He froze when he saw the cracked screen. His face turned red with panic.

"Noooo," he cried. This was the first gift Alexander had ever given him personally. It was not just a phone. It was emotional gift. It carried a sense of closeness that no other phone, no matter how expensive, could replace.

But the phone was broken. The screen was cracked. When he tried to turn it on, the screen stayed black.

Nathan stood in the doorway, looking at Nael, who was almost crying. He snorted, thinking his twin was overreacting. The boy could get as many phones as he wanted. Why was he crying over a new phone?

Nael glared at Nathan angrily. But before he could stand up, Nathan slammed the door again.

And that day, no one knew why they had argued. Nael would not talk, Nathan would not open the door.

And the trip to the decoration store was canceled.
