Meanwhile Kumo, after leaving the gym where the exhibit fight had been called off, he went to meet Old Josh for his technique. After getting out, he had felt his sixth sense show that someone was looking for him and he had hid. Having trained with Elina, he knew she was the only person who always harboured kill intent even if it was friendly fire and that on her part made Kumo always aware of her since he could sense kill intent harboured towards him. He waited for the moment Spencer had also stepped out of the gym for he knew she would now concentrate on Spencer instead of him giving him enough time to manoeuvre and avoid Elina's gaze.
Kumo arrived at the library and the doors opened naturally for him despite the rule that noone was allowed into the library before 2pm and yet here he was, an hour before and yet the doors had opened.
Apparently his access pass from his days as a cleaner had not been revoked and so very few places were off-bounds for him.
Today he was visiting the library after Old Josh had said he had some exclusive information he had to offer which was helpful hence why he had disallowed him from taking a scroll when others were choosing. Considering others had homes and families, Kumo considered maybe there were secrets every family shared and since this academy was his home, maybe Old Josh had something for him.
Kumo headed towards the inner sanctuary which was the private part of the library which housed the rare texts and also was Old Josh's residence. The moment he entered through the doors, he felt a strong spiritual sense move over him yet he was sure this was not something he was familiar with. He looked towards all the blind spots yet he could not sense where the spiritual sense had risen from. He finally concluded that maybe the library had added new restrictions and runes.
"Hello Uncle. Long life to you." Kumo bowed towards Old Josh but the moment he brought his eyes towards the table, there sat a second man who had not been there a few seconds before. Kumo's hands instinctively went for the daggers yet when he realised Old Josh did not sense fear from Old Josh nor did he seem distressed, his hands relaxed. He also relaxed when he finally thought to himself that he had not sensed the man meaning the man could have killed him anytime yet he still breathed meaning the man meant no harm.
Seeing Kumo's face and hands relax, the man said, "Good judgement kiddo but your instincts are trash." He then poured himself a cup of tea and turned to Old Josh saying, "I remember when I asked the principal here to add to cultivate battle instinct, he refused yet see where it could have worked."
Old Josh just smiled, ignoring the man he said to Kumo, "I want you to meet an old friend and a brother. He is also a legend. His name is Grandmaster George Grant, famously known in the assassins circle as 3G. "
When Old Josh had said the name, Kumo was alarmed and every instinct in him had screamed RUN for not only did he know the name, but he remembered the name from his days before gaining merit. He had had a run in with the name's owner having been the one to bring down the man's guild. Je was 3G the guildmaster of the guild 3G that Kumo had helped bring down thereby earning him merit and a good life at Rockville. The owner 3G was a legend in the assassins circle as the prodigy of the Century. Kumo felt ashamed facing this man and fell down on both his knees.
"Forgive me Guildmaster but I had no choice then. I wanted a better life and ....." Kumo then broke down in tears. He thought of Spencer amd Elina and the life he could have had after leaving Rockville. He thought of his life at Rockville and how Old Josh had mistakenly, or even sold him out and brought him to face someone who hated him deep inside the library and no-one had seen him come here where even if he were to be killed, noone would ever know except he would just be reported as missing.
3G's face went blank and...
