The single most known thing by almost everyone at Rockville Academy was that everyone would get a meditation technique and it was rather the technique that chose who held it, not the other way round. Noone would ever know what one's technique was unless they shared. However, the single most important thing never said was that the scroll resonated with who one truly was inside. The scroll would wake the inner demon in everyone and every demon was different. The day after getting the techniques, people would change because the one thing the technique helped show, was who one truly is behind the mask they masquerade as.
After the meeting with Old Josh and 3G where the business had been about him being trained by a psychopath that 3G is, Kumo went to his room where he had a bath and genuinely hid his scroll as he had promised he would not bond with it, yet. He just had a few moments to try and harness mana but he could not do so as long as he did not have a martial cultivation technique. He visited the common room to look at the board to see if there were any tasks worth taking to kill time besides he still felt the money he had still was not enough if he ever wanted to live a life without restraints. Seeing the board boring he proceeded to the meeting place a full half hour before the usual time, but he was not the first one there.
Elina sat by the railing, her usual place. The moon was being dulled by her clothes and Kumo reminded himself to find what type of material it was. Her sniper rifle, disassembled lay across her lap yet today she was reassembling it as if it was her first time. She did not speak when he arrived and he stood a few metres away to watch her complete her task and for the first time since knowing her, he realized she did not have any arrows and her bow was not on site.
Seeing her finished Kumo said, "I'm not gonna ask a lot but THE GUN." He put emphasis on 'the gun'.
Still with a serious face she replied, " Fate changes everything and seems like destiny says this is 'the weapon' for me."
Kumo did not bother to let the conversation continue. His mind already working on how he would tell these two that everyday for two weeks he would not be available.
"You're leaking killing intent Bro, even Ryan never leaks it that much and he literally hates me. What's the problem?"
Spencer then just stepped out from behind a pillar grinning and said, " The great Kumo noticed me. I thought I would give you a scare."
Kumo did not comment just raised his brows showing he still wanted an answer.
"Chill Bro, I'll never wish you dead. Okay remember our family God, The great Drake, he has mastered the law of slaughter and so we all inherit it and with this technique, its even worse. Its not killing intent, it is just a mark that all descendants of Ali have."
Kumo just nodded and then turned away.
At the same time, Elina just smiled and said, "Now that both of you are here. I have a request. So Kumo I already asked this from Ryan and he accepted. I want to hunt you everyday from 2pm to 4pm without finding you. I want to advance my tracking skills and only you two are stealth enough to sometimes escape me. So I would just want you to hide and do whatever you want but making sure wherever you go, you don't leave marks for me to follow."
The moment Kumo heard her request, he was overjoyed. He had been trying to find a way on how he would escape these two and now Elina had just handed him a way out.
"I'll do it," replied Kumo. Both Elina and Spencer were shocked at how he had quickly accepted.
"Okay then," said an overjoyed Elina.
"I also have something small to ask Kumo," said Spencer and that turned even Elina seeing she had not been mentioned. "Apparently you impressed my Aunt and she's asking you to join the Serpents."
" No I can't," replied Kumo quickly as he stood up, the turned to Elina and said, " Goodnight." He then said to Spencer, "Visit me later tonight." Then he left.
This left both Elina and Spencer wondering on what it could be that he wanted it secretive to even avoid Elina's ears.
